This little unassuming restaurant will blow your socks off! With over 130 wines on offer, a huge range of cocktails, mocktails, dessert drinks and more, the alcohol component of your dining experience is just the beginning to your exploration. We attended on a Sunday night and for $30 each, received a choice of five pasta dishes and a choice of two desserts. Such high quality ingredients, cooked to perfection, and all while overlooking a beautiful pond. There’s some serious ambiance here but nothing beats the menu options. There is a page dedicated to Vegetarians, including 3 Vegan meals, and the alá carté menu was definitely an invitation to return. I can’t wait!

I came here with my family on a Sunday where they do housemade pasta dishes for an amazing price! The quality was outstanding and the extremely friendly and professional staff make the experience very satisfying. It has an open kitchen so I could see my meal getting prepared and could see how organised the kitchen and the chefs are. I absolutely recommend this place to all my friends and family.

Our group has been meeting annually for 35 plus years and this time we chose The Loose Goose as our dinner venue. The staff coped well with a large group of eighteen people - the wait-staff were never intrusive, delivered all the orders to the right people despite many of us playing musical chairs, and were cheerful and obliging. The food was delicious and we thought very reasonable. Our setting beside the frog pond was quite magical. Many thanks to The Loose Goose for such memorable hospitality.

Amazing restaurant. Incredible food. Extensive drinks menus and fantastic customer service. Situated in a quiet and unassuming precinct in Twin Waters you could easily overlook the Loose Goose. Grabbing a table on the deck next to the pond listening to the trickle of the waterfall you could be forgiven for thinking you were at a luxurious country retreat Staff were eager to help and clearly took pride in their work. Proving experts in the menu on offer. After browsing the extensive menu we opened for the lunch special 3 courses at the incredible price of $40 a choice between 3 options per course which provided an appropriate scope to cater for the varied dietary needs of our group. For $40 per head you may expect something simple but honestly we were blown away presentation, portion and sheer quality of ingredients and skill in preparation were outstanding. If you are visiting the Sunshine Coast take a trip to Twin waters and visit the Loose Goose you won't be disappointed.

On a recent stay at San Marino By The Sea in Marcoola, the managers recommended The Loose Goose for a more up market dinner option. They were spot on. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful the whole night. There's covered seating outdoors next a pond with a small waterfall. We chose to eat indoors though. I won't bore you with our food choices but I can certainly recommend the Twice baked Triple Cheese Souffle entree...delicious! All the food we ordered was spot on and it was a struggle to fit in dessert but we soldiered on. The prices were quite reasonable and we even picked up a Loose Goose wine glass to commemorate the visit. We'll be sure to dine here again when we're up on the Sunshine Coast.

We have been regular customers at this charming restaurant since owners Erin and Carl took over as the Loose Goose in 2009. We do not go as often as we would like these days, not going out so much but when we do this is our favourite local restaurant. On a recent visit our table guests enjoyed the fine scallop entree and the always favourite three-cheese souffle. My vegan baby beetroot and roasted pumpkin salad was wonderful. Mains of fish of the day and seafood risotto were well enjoyed and my vegetarian mushroom gnocchi divine. Some years ago the owners introduced a vegan/vegetarian section after their main menu and that is so necessary in today's dining market. Selections are varied and good. Wine prices way in keeping with today's area prices - a good Merlot at $48 was most drinkable. Tucked away in the quiet area of Twin Waters, the restaurant offers outside seating on their deck beside the lily ponds or in the cool interior. Would happily recommend the Loose Goose and always return.

The quality of the food was fine, but value for money extremely poor. They charge $17 for bruschetta entree which consisted of one small, thin rectangular piece of bread and lacking any real flavour. The pesto was barely perceptible. Bruschetta is not difficult to do well but this was underwhelming and for the price an absolute rip-off. It got worse, not better. I ordered the barramundi which came with "eggplant caviar" and pea and asparagus salad. The asparagus was missing and the eggplant was barely noticeable. But it was the puny size of the barramundi was truly shocking. It looked like an entree. I've never had a smaller piece of fish served to me as a main. This dish was charged at $36. The fish was so small and the salad so un-filling that I was still hungry after I'd finished. I came home and ate bread and butter. You should not have to eat at home to fill up after such an expensive meal. Perhaps I was unlucky and the kitchen decided to serve an under-portioned piece of fish. If that was the case, they should not do this. They should think about what the customer is paying and whether they would be happy being served such a tiny meal. $36!! My partner enjoyed his seafood risotto but was also hungry afterwards. The kids' meals were great although they both finished them, no problem and weren't quite full. Their serves of icecream dessert were also really small. The vibe is just a bit like, "maximum charge for as little food as we can hopefully get away with serving". Other people seem to love it, but we won't be back. I don't mind paying fancy restaurant prices but I should not be hungry afterwards!

I brought mum and dad for a joint birthday lunch where a 3 course meal (Sticky Beak lunch special) was offered for $40. The food was excellent and the setting by the Lily pond surrounded by trees, water and the sounds of nature (including water dragons & bush turkeys) was 10/10. We all enjoyed our dishes (lemon pepper calamari & mushroom arancini balls for entree; seared salmon with garlic potatoes & vegetarian frittata w/ chips and salad for mains; strawberry cheesecake w/ strawb sorbet & chocolate brownie mess w/ cream for dessert). Service was excellent though one of us skipped entree and had to wait 1 hr until mains which was too long. But Loose Goose is a top restaurant and I’d definitely recommend, especially at such great prices.

We visited the Loose Goose for dinner last night. The seafood was superb, the favours in each meal were perfectly balanced and perfectly cooked, presented to us by cheerful engaging staff. A truly wonderful experience in a relaxed setting. We will definitely return on our next visit the Sunshine Coast. Thank you Loose Goose team.

What a lovely experience! All staff greeted us and the ambiance on the deck was a delight. We were looked after by Kirsty who did a fabulous job of explaining the menu, recommending items and making our dining experience so positive. We had the Cheese Soufflé for entree and the 300g Beef Petite Tender for main. What can I say - delicious. The meat was cooked and served with perfection. Thank you to all the Goose staff. We recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys any of the above!

I live up the road and have always wanted to try here... tonight was long awaited and my expectations were exceeded! Service was amazing, the food was incredible, sitting under the fairy lights by the lily pond watching and listening to the wild life was beautiful! A special shout out to Gordon playing the keyboard as well! What a talent and a wonderful experience overall. 20 out of 10!

Had another great meal at the Loose Goose, the food was amazing as always as were the wait staff. The only criticism I had was regarding the desert;I told Alex one of the chefs that it was my wife’s birthday, he then proceeded to make her a delicious desert with a hand written “ happy 21st birthday” message in chocolate on the plate, nice touch you would think... As it was in fact my wife’s 35th birthday, he ended up getting all the brownie points for the night!! Thanks Alex, we will be back for her next 21st next year!!! Thanks again guys, you are the best on the coast

Oysters fresh, the house made duck pate had a beautiful light texture. Duck and beef mains were cooked to perfection, the jus that accompanied the beef was rich and deep in flavour. The food had obviously been prepared with love and care. Service lacking, would suggest more training in sequence of service.

This was lunch for 5 people and we were seated inside. The music playing was too loud and we asked for it to be turned down, it was still too loud. Open kitchen so we could see what was going on. They had a function outside and we waited over an hour for food. We were told they were busy because of the function, so maybe they shouldn’t overbook? Not our fault they can’t cope but we were the ones to suffer. All meals were served in bowls which didn’t suit some food. I was horrified to see the salad being taken straight from a cardboard box and dumped onto plates, the box was marked “mixed leaves”. At the prices they are charging for lunch I think they could at least make the salads! My fish was raw on one half, I told the waitress and she said “oh! Really” and walked off. There seemed to be plenty of staff in the kitchen but they weren’t coping. Not good enough at all although the dessert was tasty.

Over the years we have eaten at The Loose Goose over 30 times. One year in particular, we ate there 13 times. One thing I can not understand is the negative reviews as we have had such good experiences there, otherwise we would not go back. I just read a bad review of their seafood risotto; one of my favourites. I think their risotto is the best I have had at any restaurant. Someone read our review and suggested we must not dine out much. We have dined out all over Australia, eaten out in over 30 countries and I was a part-time cooking teacher at TAFE for 7 years, so we can put that to rest. One must pay attention to negative reviews because customers have been upset over something, however, our experiences at The Loose Goose have always been positive so it remains one of our favourites and I am sure it will be one of our "Go To's" on The Sunshine Coast, for many years to come.
