Early breakfast

Friendly staff, open at 6.00am for an early breakfast. Good selection of fresh sandwiches for our takeaway lunch.

Great place for breakfast.

Good pies, hot food and good coffee. A quick breakfast stop for a hungry bunch of guys. Chicken pie was my favourite.

Best chips by miles for miles

We ordered a light meal. Staff were really friendly and the food was well presented. The chips were outstanding.

Standard pre-made cabinet food, but what lets the place down is the amount of gang members hanging around the shop in patches and colours. Intimidating if you are passing through this town and just looking for a quiet place to get a quick bite to...eat.More

Stop off on way to Wellington

Nothing better than having a hearty lunch when your on a long journey and you don't know when your next meal is. Really good choice of food and drinks and good customer service to go with it.

Big variety of food

About the first food place open around 7am in taumarunui 7days a week and typical bake house franchise type food. Sandwiches pies etc. Also do meals. Always huge pile of fried chicken which is popular. Good basic reasonably priced food for a quick walk in...takeaway or tables to sit down.More

Filling food, but nothing special

Most of the food is pre-made (sandwiches, cakes and the like). There are also burger items and I chose a fish burger and chips. The prices were reasonable, but the quality was ordinary. There was plenty of space for sitting, so I relaxed over my...lunch.More

Lunch time visit

A wide range of food choices. Hot foods - chicken pieces, chips etc, salads, sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks. Spacious shop space with good table space. Clean eating area. Had some tables for eating outside. Friendly service.

Great Place

This not long being taken over by new owners, they struggling after bad previous owners, very friendly staff , a big range of food for every one, they open early in morning until 5pm. Would recommend it very much

Great Scoffs

Always good to know you can go to any Bakehouse Cafe in NZ and get what you need.We had coffee and treats and all happy with that.

Reasonable selection

This is a typical kiwi cabinet food bakery. Sandwiches, rolls, cakes, pies and some hot food choices such as chicken kebabs, fried chicken and chips, plus basic menu of eggs, chips etc. The food was quite nice though basic and there was a reasonable selection....The cafe was a little sparse for seating and had that slightly sticky feeling. It did seem popular with the locals. Nothing amazing but while doing a quick stop on a long journey the food was cheap enough to grab and run. They did have a toilet and while the floor was a little dirty from use on a damp day it was good enough.More
