After visit Angel road, it's a good choice to enjoy meal. We order tempura & sashimi set dinner, soba & boiling fishhead with soya sauce....So satisfied.

After reading that the chef can speak English we tried this place near our hotel. On the first night it was full but we arrived early (5pm!) the second and got a table. Travelling as a vegan in Japan can be hard but I carry a card saying I don't eat meat, fish including dashi/bonito, egg, dairy etc and it is a huge help (usually a no but that's better than unsure!). Anyway, here the chef understood completely and offered a few options to things he could make me. I had a bespoke meal of fried tofu in a rich sauce, somen noodles on ice (local speciality I was keen to try) and a sesame dressed salad. Great meal and brilliant service. The lady who served us didn't really speak English but we managed to communicate and everything was very easy and enjoyable. A good option on an island that doesn't have many apparent non-meat/fish options.

The chef/ owner Kemura has been working in the kitchen for 37 years, started at age 23. He is dedicated to his craft and it is easy to feel his passion come through in his food. He is warm and friendly to his staff and all the customers. He speaks English and even showed me the worksheet he has from taking English courses in a school. Highly recommend this place.
