We had a wonderful experience. We arrived early to beat the Dune de Pilat crowd and almost had the place to ourselves. It is a family owned business with fresh oysters and personal attention. We also learned a lot about how they keep their oysters fresh, how they deliver them from the bay. If you like fresh oysters go to the source!

We had a great evening at Le Papillon. It is a family run restaurant. The service was great, very friendly. The food was super fresh. I recommend the prawns, whelks and the oysters of course. Thank you again to the team who looked after us x

Comments made us want to taste these butterfly oysters...and what a delight! We also let ourselves be tempted by the Casanova...a treat! The 2 young men who served us are very friendly and good advice. We will come back!

A very pleasant place, fresh and very good quality products, a good little wine to accompany it all, and above all a very welcoming and friendly staff, both the owners and the staff! The place is also quiet and very clean, very well kept. In short, we had a great evening and came back the next day! We highly recommend this place!

We stopped by here for lunch. This family has been oyster farmers for generations. The owners are friendly and open. The menu isn’t complicated. The oysters were local while the prawns and the sea snails were imported (Madagascar and Britain?). I especially enjoyed the sea snails as they were flavored well and meaty. As we are in the Bordeaux region, you’ll have to have some white wine which pairs with the food well. It’s a beautiful restaurant with seating under umbrellas on the porch. Across the pier there are a few similar restaurants. I’d definitely come back here.

I was going to be in the area of Arcachon and looked for a place where their famous oysters can be had. Found this gem on Trip Advisor as it was highly rated. The place did not disappoint. Excellent seafood, good location, very reasonable prices. Menu is limited to seafood, water and wine (no soda, desserts etc) If one is in the area looking for oysters, this place is not to miss

Come here for oysters shucked by pros! No mistake, you want to eat oysters here - perhaps throw in a plate of bulots (sea snails) to make things more interesting. People come here seemed to be locals as well as from afar (from the accent, sounded like UK people). We came on a market day thus more people than usual I am sure. Don't expect A/C. We were here when it was 38C but the breeze and the umbrellas made the lunch enjoyable.

Best oysters, full stop - no better way to start and/or end your day

This is the place to go if you want the best oysters from the Bassin d'Arcachon. It's our regular Sunday lunch outing followed by a walk with the dog around the Port de Larros, avoiding all the hustle and bustle of Arcachon. We once had oysters at La Corniche for lunch and then for dinner at l'Huîtres Papillon for dinner. La Corniche is sourcing oysters from the wrong supplier! We just took some New Yorkers last night, they were levitating. The owners Marc and Martine and their staff make you feel like they have been awaiting your arrival. Every time. They never disappoint.

I found a place to enjoy seafood eyes closed!! and the owners know all the stories of the Arcachon basin. Also you can go with them on the oyster beds to see the way they work. they got several medals of French Agricultural Contest. Finally, the cabin is very recent while immersing yourself in the local atmosphere.
