Lovely spot to sit with a glass of wine and bruschetta. Would love to come back for a movie sometime. Pleasant outside area and friendly staff.

Good coffee and really nice food. I had the scrambled eggs on toast, done really nice. Good quiet spot to meet friends for a coffee. Service was also very good.

We visit here on a semi regular basis and the staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is fresh,tasty and well priced. The surroundings are kept clean and tidy and parking and access are good. On this occasion we had an Italian share platter...prior to watching a movie, a great way to start our date night. The only negative side (and its not insurmountable is the mobility access to toilets and theater- its clumsy and ill-conceived BUT, the staff are always helpful and will assist if called upon. Animals are welcome in the dedicated (coveres) alfresco area and water is provided for dogsMore

Just popped in for a coffee after a meal. The service was quick, the staff were friendly and the location easy to find.

Went twice in two nights: once for dinner and once for a movie. Salmon meal was a very generous serving with some well cooked root veges. (The cream sauce was perhaps slightly over bearing). Plenty of locals eating which is surely a good sign... The...staff were notably friendly and prompt on both nights, a real credit to the place!More

Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere here, the staff were all extremely polite and accommodating. Loved the Fish n Chips and so did my wife. Will 100% be returning here!

Obviously this is a very popular place for people to come for a meal, and I believe most customers enjoy it, perhaps if not the service. However it is supposed to be a cinema and a cafe. So would you not think that if people...are coming JUST to see a film they should be served in preference to those just wanting food? After all they advertise a start time for a film so to spend 20 minutes in a queue listening to customers repeating their order because the staff simply don't listen to what is being said to them or watching the staff make a mess of the till as the minutes tick away to the start time of the film that you have made a special effort to come out and see, is nothing other than totally unprofessional and less and extremely frustrating. 10 minutes after the film I went to see had started I was still in the queue watching the member of staff show the customer on the till what was wrong! At this point I simply bailed!!!! Either run the cinema, or run a café, you obviously can't do both. This is not the first time this has happened, as it's happened before in the past, and I'm guessing it will continue to happen in the future. So if you are coming for a film just be aware that you might not end up seeing itMore

On a road trip to a family event with my Mother and Brother. They had been here before so they knew that we would be in a good place. Mum had the cheese melt which looked good for a light meal. My Brother had the...omelette which looked very nice and he really enjoyed it too. I went for the eggs benedict, with bacon. I wish I took a photo of it before I started but too late now. It looks great and is about the best I have ever had. Crisp toasted bread, lots of bacon and the best eggs ever. The eggs, which were perfectly cooked, had beautiful orange yokes. So yummy. The coffee was excellent but everything seems ordinary after the eggs benny!!! Hoping to stop in again on the return journey.More

Travelled up from wellington with my newborn son and mother to see my grandad in a local rest home. He was really excited about coming to Focal Point for lunch today. He has been there several times and ordered a spinach and cheese omelette. Today...we were told that he could not have a spinach and cheese omelette as they do not make changes to the menu. The omelette on the menu came with chorizo and potato chunks on sourdough bread - none of which he is able to swallow. When this was explained to the waitress - that he had been here several times and they were very accommodating with making a simple cheese & spinach omelette and that he physically wouldn’t be able to eat the omelette described on the menu, she was very rude and said it’s a new menu and there are to be no changes to the food. Poor grandad was really looking forward to his omelette. Particularly as this was his first trip out of the rest home in months due to his declining health and the fact that he hasn’t been eating proper meals due to his health - today was a really special occasion. No compassion for our circumstances. Not even busy. Rude and unaccommodating staff. Will not be back.More

A good range of food and drinks available. Coffee is very good. Service is always reliable and timely and staff are friendly and well trained.

Good selection. Busy, so the service wasn't all that friendly, Not unfriendly either, just rushing. The same counter sells movie tickets, drinks and food. Nice food though.
