It was a very difficult reservation to obtain and we are glad we went. Dinner for four, ordering the middle of three price fixe options, was 970 USD. Expensive to say the least but the sushi was the best I've ever eaten....anywhere. The sushi chef...More

Well it's funny coz my husband loves sushi and I don't. Not that I haven't tried it but just not adventurous especially when it comes to raw seafood. This restaurant was recommended to us by someone we knew in Tokyo and so glad we went...More

My wife and I love sushi, and knew we wanted to go to at least one of the upscale sushi restaurants while visiting Tokyo. We actually couldn't get into our first choice, did some more research, and decided upon Kyubey. Kyubey is not quite as...More

You don't get to eat at Kyubey easily. First you reserve under the warning that there will be a penalty if you don't show up. Second you get to a small entrance and when the waiter realises your two other guests are still on they...More

As you know, this sushi restaurant is used by many celebrities inside and outside of Japan. Although somewhat darker lighting and wood grain furniture have very good character, they are by no means pretentious. Regardless of age and number of uses, it...More

Every sushi has a perfect "job". We offer sublimated seasonal ingredients to the limit. Feel free to ask Itamae-san about the seasonal ingredients. It is also nice to have a not sweet "Gali".

Kyubey is a really good option if you are in the mood for a ‘proper’ counter dining sushi meal in Tokyo. One of the limiting factors with most high end sushi restaurants in Japan is that they don’t usually allow children less than 12 unless...More

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular

I don't recall many non-sushi items but this was truly the best sushi meal I've ever had. My wife doesn't like sushi either so I went without her and it was worth it. This might be a meal for you guys to do your own thing.

Yes, there is an upstairs with a couple tables if sitting at the counter will be difficult for your children.
