We visited on May 14th and had an unforgettable evening. Andrea and Barbara grow, cook and serve a fresh vegetarian tasting menu for a very reasonable price (including jugs of wine!). You can clearly tell they love what they do for the 15 lucky people that visit every evening. It was so unique and lovely to be treated so well, so a massive thank you to them! They also kept my camera safe, which I accidentally left there.
If you spend even just one evening in Santo Stefano you have to go here!!

Overall, it was an experience filled with intimacy, great vegetarian food, and outstanding personal service. With room for up to 12 people in the restaurant, it makes it an even more exclusive experience. The food is local and taste amazing. The price for the fixed menu is almost symbolic. You can get great food many places, but you can't get an experience like this anywhere.

In the historic village of Santo Stefano this little pearl is certainly worth a visit. Andrea and Barbara convey all the love they have for their work in the dishes they present. the restaurant formula is a fixed price menu all including wine, dessert, coffee and coffee killer. I confirm all the reviews on Andrea's poetry and courtesy and on the goodness of the dishes cooked by Barbara. Truly compliments for the effort to maintain the authentic 0km raw material as much as possible and for cooking practically everything expressly and just moments before serving the dish. Parking space near the restaurant and convenient accessibility even if there are steps at the entrance; the internal space has a maximum of a dozen seats, so it is always better to book. Basically you eat in a lounge close to the other guests in a truly homely atmosphere in the best sense of the term. We'll be back.

We were greeted by the owner who is the ultimate host!!
Andrea presents all of Barbara's creations.
Andrea will accompany you throughout the culinary journey, from appetizers to desserts, explaining each course in detail, giving life to each dish and reviving the love with which he collects the products of the countryside and then transforms them in the kitchen of the restaurant together with his wife Barbara.
It was an extraordinary lunch from every point of view, quality of the food, the preparation and presentation, the beautiful dining area, and the kindness shown to all the customers.
Barbara is an excellent chef!!
Absolutely recommended if you want to try a unique experience of its kind.

Thanks to a friend I booked a lunch for two people in this small restaurant (it has more or less 12 seats, so it is necessary to book). Calling it lunch is an understatement, it was an experience that went beyond the tasting of 0 km dishes. Andrea the owner lovingly explains the dishes which change every time based on what he collects in his vegetable garden, which he finds along the on his walks or that are delivered to him by friends. His wife Barbara cooks everything "like it used to be", transmitting the value of tradition. We were lucky enough to taste the menu of the day which was made up of appetizers (cheeses with lemon jam, ricotta with pistachios, dried tomatoes, salad with melon, beetroot, pumpkin seeds..) as first courses instead chinoa and courgettes and chickpeas with milk, Raviolo with ricotta and sage and a lentil soup. Finally seared primo sale with hazelnuts and honey and chocolate cake made only with egg whites and cream with plum jam. The dishes spoke of Andrea and Barbara, two wonderful people who transmit their love for each other and for cooking. It was so nice to meet them that we decided to stay and talk with them when we had finished lunch (which starts for everyone at 1pm and ends around 3.30pm/4pm). The price of lunch is fixed and is €35 and also includes water, wine and their digestive (obviously made by Andrea).
Saying that it is recommended is a must.

Four of us were fortunate to enjoy this wonderful experience on Easter Monday evening. It shouldn’t matter that none of us are vegetarian and I only mention this so that anyone reading it can hear what a gem of an experience it was. Each course of our “fixed menu” was served up with beautiful explanations of where the produce came from (mainly home grown) and the owners passion for the whole experience was absolutely wonderful to witness.

We went to this place which isn't really a place! It's like staying at a friend's house but in a magical and poetic atmosphere thanks to the owner and with the help of his wife in the kitchen, he explains and involves by telling each single dish about the origin and preparation of the traditional ingredients of the cuisine of the past and 'modernising' them. and sometimes you also learn a little about the history of these raw materials.
Even if this place does not use meat but rather vegetarian products and cheese and wild herbs, the dinner is still worth it all. The dishes are still quite generous and at the end of the dinner you leave feeling full. The wine and toasted bread with the addition of oil are also excellent
We booked about ten days in advance also because there are very few seats (12/15 people max) and the menu is fixed and everyone eats at the same time.
However, it is really worth having this experience for everything offered both in terms of raw materials and for the owners for their being. We were happy 😊

You need to understand what you eat and where what you eat comes from. What a tradition there is and how much sacrifice is put into this small but great place. We were in this restaurant for the second time and on this occasion too we had a fantastic experience! Yes, because it is not simply about enjoying dishes, but about taking a gastronomic journey in a welcoming environment, where it is possible to eat dishes with simple ingredients, but expertly cooked with 0 km products and respecting tradition. From the outside, the lights, the writings, the little windows with the little hearts invite you to enter as if you were invited to the house of friends. After all, this is the spirit of the place, making you feel comfortable among people who want to spend a pleasant evening with you.
As soon as we entered we were greeted by Andrea, a smiling and affable host who made us sit at our table in a room of about 4x4m, with the kitchen and a bathroom but very cozy and full of lights and curious objects, all with a story to tell.
And Andrea also had to tell about it, explaining the ingredients and their origins to each dish, accompanying them with some of his anecdotes.
The dishes were in most of the tastings but the quality was excellent! From lentil soup to goat cheese and grilled vegetables to homemade dessert, all cooked masterfully and with passion.
Each course had its own personality where the ingredients harmoniously matched releasing authentic flavors of the past.
The cook Barbara had done an extraordinary job presented in a captivating way by her husband Andrea and served with taste. A gastronomic journey that enriches body and soul.

We visited L’Elisir de poeta on the first night of our honeymoon and were completely blown away. The food was beyond our wildest dreams. There was so much food and each dish was so carefully considered and prepared. We loved how Andrea explained each dish before serving it. A wholesome fine dining experience. The setting inside is so fun and unique and perfectly pairs the atmosphere. We highly recommend this restaurant as it gives an authentic taste of the local area in a relaxed and intimate setting. A night to remember forever!

Very small restaurant in the charming village perched on the Abruzzo hills. Andrea takes care of the service to welcome customers, while his wife Barbara is in the kitchen. Fixed menu at 35 euros, from starter to dessert including water, wine and coffee. The menu varies according to the season and availability in the garden. Simple and traditional cuisine with excellent 0 km products. A superlative lunch to repeat on the next occasion.

Vegetarian restaurant but I would say that I am anything but vegetarian, I ate divinely! The owners, husband and wife, are lovely people. His wife Barbara takes care of the cooking and her husband Andrea takes care of the table service with an explanation of each dish served. All products are zero km! Each ingredient is typical of the area. To give an example, we ate ricotta prepared in the morning of the same day! I recommend booking because the restaurant seats up to a maximum of 14 people. I'll be back!

We were welcomed as if we were at a friend's house: kindness and helpfulness at the top! Truly excellent quality food and home cooking but at the same time refined! The host accompanies each dish with a few words of explanation and lets you savor his passion for good food and local tradition. To the question: why vegetarian cuisine? To savor the flavors of the local agricultural tradition! Everything zero kilometer and cooked with care and imagination! Ideal for those who are vegetarians and for those who are not! A relaxing corner where you can be pampered in every sense!

Unfortunately we did not find a place because the place is really small and has few seats. However this is one of the strengths. Food is a moment to be enjoyed even making the most welcome acquaintance of Andrea and Barbara who select their raw materials and cook them as you would at home for the family: with dedication. Every corner or object of their room expresses care and love. They were kind enough not to leave me speechless! I enjoyed a plate of handmade dumplings with a fresh tomato sauce and basil to sing! I made the shoe with a rich bruschetta offered by them and seasoned with their cold-pressed oil. Boys! a goodness!
