We had been in Rapolano for about 4 days and had 2 more. After a visit at a restaurant where we were quite disappointed with the food and the price we tried Saporintorre.
It really is a great place to have a cozy and relaxed...dinner. The owner is very nice and chatted with us during our stay, giving us some good infos about the region. He was also very helpful with the menu, explaining what the several different dishes were and what was in them.
The food was very good and exactly what we wanted. Fresh, local and delicious. They serve pasta dishes that are typical for the region, big toasted breads with various toppings, like tomato, tuna, onions and cheese...so good! What we really liked was the amazing varieties of locally brewed beer! We are not really wine people and it was a welcome change to try a local craft beer.
Sitting on the patio you can see the sun go down, it really creates a wonderful atmosphere and leaves you filled and happy.
We actually came back right the next evening to finish our time in Rapolano before we were leaving for Florence the next day.More
We have visited Saporintorre with big group: 7 adults and 4 kids.
The place is focused on the beers and local food.
Kids took hamburgers, adults pastas. The only area to improve were the burgers. Maybe the beef was local but it was too well...done (hard and dry). The sauces were Heinz (not much local I suppose).
The rest was near perfection - pici, selections of cold meats and beer.
Last but not least - the game changer! - the service. The owner (as I assume) is true passionate who works honestly hard to make his guests happy.
I think it would be full 5 if I were there with bunch of colleagues for the beer and food.More
There are so many great things about this restaurant. The view is top notch looking out over the Tuscan landscape. The owner was very attentive and made sure to reserve us the best seats in the house when we called ahead. The food itself excellent...and the serving sizes very generous. We will be back again if we’re ever back in the area.More
Absolutely loved our meal here. All the food is from within 20 km and the owner is so passionate about quality. Despite being in wine country I’m glad stuck with a range of local craft beers. The highlight - seeing the owner give out slices...of salami to the kids trick or treating when he ran out of candies!More
