Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped here on our way north from Wellington. Aside from the working windmill which was interesting to see, the cafe was excellent. My husband ordered the mac and cheese with bacon and said it was the best he's ever had. I had the chicken and...crisp noodle salad with satay dressing and it was great. Staff were great. Perfect place to stop for a bite to eat.More

Had my favourite macaroni cheese and lime milkshake. Love the setting with the windmill and the library/museum building in the background.

Thank you! We have been in Foxton for a week and experienced almost every cafe and restaurant, this was by far the best for both service and food. Very friendly staff, delicious food (my eggs Benedict with mushrooms and spinach was superb) and fabulous coffee....Highly recommend.More

Cozy and lively. Locals also come here. Pea soup and macaroni cheese are good. Stampot a bit salty but an experience. Conveniently located at the roadside.

I arrived there without a booking with 9 residents from Metlifecare. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to put tables together outside for us all to sit in the sun. The service was fast and the food and coffee was lovely. Will...be coming back with my next group!!More

Rude and patronising staff. In particular the cafe owner. Left before ordering although food looked not great anyway. Would not recommend.

Quite some time since we have eaten there. The service was a bit slow and confused probably due to a crowd from a retirement village.

I went to the Dutch oven today and I am so pleased with the change of colour, it looks so much more enlightening, no more depressing and dull coloured walls, best coffee in town

This is a very pleasant cafe with good options on the menu. I considered my Eggs Benedict with salmon and spinach to be the best I have had. The menu needs to be a little clearer as I was a little confused by the options....Staff were friendly and service good.More

Enjoy the morning calm and quiet in this small town, Foxton, we ordered Kroketten, and Poffertjes, with coffee. Yup, we got nice yummy breakfast on that morning. Location is in the mid of this small town next to the eye catching building, De Molen.

A range of standard Dutch treats available. Disappointing that we had to ask for frietsaus to go with our fries and then be charged for them.

Coffee was wonderful... Dutch apple tart was brilliant... My wife is Dutch and makes it at home. Poffertjes were slightly hard and didn't have butter... Which my wife advised them of. They took this well 😁 All in all a very nice place 😁
