Had a great dinner here as it was the closest restaurant/food to our accommodation. We weren't disappointed as we were looked after very well. Excellent service by the staff, and we were all very happy with our meals and being a Tuesday night - the...amazing schnittys.... Don't be put off by some of the other reviews. This is a great country pub.More
We planned to have lunch here before going to the wildlife park. It didn't look open at 12:30 pm but it was. Went into the lounge room and it was empty and no-one around to serve. Then went into the Front Bar and no-one there...either. We could see some 'locals' drinking out in the smoking area at the front. My kids wanted to leave as it was quite spooky. Just as we were leaving the bar girl came from outside smoking area and said oh! hello and then poured a beer and took it back outside. We left. I have been there in the summer season and it has been okay and understand in winter they are not expecting a big crowd but it was school holidays so very surprisedMore
My husband and l were a bit cautious about ordering steak, but it was perfectly cooked, with a generous serve of sauce, very crispy chips and a very good salad. Very helpful staff, let us into the dining room early , no problems.
We stopped here for lunch on our Scenic tour. They provided us with a delicious 2 course lunch with fresh crisp salad and tasty dessert. It might have been expensive (I don't know) bust most enjoyable with friendly staff.
Ok, firstly, I rarely leave average or below reviews. I would usually just not bother.
Parndana. The big positive was that it was open. So few options for evening dining out for visitors. Fast service.
Prices were ok. Except ... I’ll get to that.
My...wife ordered the Mexican Buddha Bowl with chicken. It came with and an extra hair and an insect. She’s often a bit thingy about such things but was hungry enough to overlook them.
The bowl of chips seemed supermarket bought. Certainly more oily than a Saudi oil field.
I ordered a meat lovers pizza. Please bear in mind, I: 1) eat almost anything and 2) hate wasting money and food.
I cannot recall ever taking away leftover pizza in the past, it’s always eaten.
The pizza was quite bland. Not terrible, just perhaps what I’d expect from an inexpensive frozen pizza from the supermarket. NOT what I’d expect to pay $24 dining out. To be honest the HALF pizza I took home, I managed 1 more slice while driving the next day, then 2 bites of another slice before throwing the rest out. This is a first for me.
I suspect that Parndana is excellent for locals. An option for tourists if nothing else open. But if you expect anything more than the most basic of pub food, you will likely leave disappointed.More
Yes I know it's the only dinner place in the area. So I should just be grateful right?
The food here is really average, even for pub standards.
We also had the luxury of mixed up orders and my son's burger had burnt to a...black slab bacon making it inedible.
The food was so bad (particularly for my vegetarian wife) that we went out of our way to minimise eating here even though it was only 10 mins from our airbnb.
It's a shame that the nearby Davo's Deli doesn't stay open later as they can actually prepare really decent take aways.
Another option is the Vivonne bay general store (but it also closes at 6pm and burgers only til 5pm)
They get three stars simply because eating here is slightly better than chewing on red dirt for dinner, which is your only other choice for eating out in the area.
If you can avoid eating here, you should.More
I found the camping area out back to be overpriced ($40 1 night) for what you can get at other caravan powered sites across the island. No water, had power, toilets and showers (shower heads broken in 2 showers blocks). Had some nice refreshments during...the afternoon outside the hotel. Only 3 staying the night and then we found out some friends in another motorhome were told it's booked out. Mmmm, plenty of powered sites and 4 shower and toilet blocks so don't know why they didn't want their money as well...! Wouldn't recommend staying at this site...Always thought if you had some drinks and food the stay was cheaper or free.More
we stayed at this hotel, it was ok for one night, the main thing is fresh linen, but I had a question about the towels, I hope they were also clean! for dinner we went to the hotel restaurant, the food was terrible, everything was...cooked in smelly oil, it is not possible to eat it, as if old engine oil, all products are spoiled !!! that's horrible! the worst place in my life😞More
