We came to Boca for 3 nights and planned to mostly eat street food. We dined at Le Kliff the first night, and while we had a lovely dinner, we felt hovered over by the wait staff. Our second night, we bussed to Misamaloya to Jacalito's--it was closed. We wandered and came across Misamaloya Grill around 8pm. Cesar greeted us instantly with a bright smile and a cheerful attitude. He welcomed us by telling us to sit wherever we would like, with a view over the bay. Waves crashing, warm air, light breeze, candle light. Cesar tended to us in perfect timing, never skipping a beat, and never making us feel rushed. We are particularly chatty, and while enjoying drinks and appetizers, he asked us if we would like a few more minutes before they put the whole red snapper on the grill. We appreciated this very much, as our food was hot and always perfectly timed. Cesar made excellent eye contact, was very personable, charming, and professional. We never anticipated ending up at this restaurant, but it became the highlight of our dining South of Vallarta. We had the calamari, the Brita salad, and the whole red snapper with garlic. The mango margarita and Cadillac house margarita were excellent. The prices were absolutely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food, the ambiance, the view, and the excellent service. Cesar, keep doing what you're doing. You are a gem. Thank you for a perfect evening.

My husband and I had dinner here after reading the TA reviews and because it was close to our hotel. WE had a wonderful evening. It was the owners wife's birthday so he had a 10 piece mariachi band concert for all the guests! Our food was delicious...shrimp and snapper and fried calamari and very reasonably priced. The location in a condo building is overlooking the beach. We had planned to return the next night but forgot we already made plans so we had to cancel but we will return for sure on our next visit to PV. Reservations are a must.

We "discovered" this gem a couple of months ago and continue to be impressed! Pablo and Pao have established one of the most fresh and creative menus on the south shore and this is possibly one of the most outstanding restaurants in PV right now. The 2 of them along with a talented chef and engaging young daugter make for a truly welcoming experience. After 16 years in PV this is the first review we have written, it is that good!...the views and sunsets over Mismaloya bay are superb. This is only a $150 peso cab ride from centro so no matter your locale it is not to be missed!

The meal and service were great, and upon returning to Canada on March 10, we realized we had been double charged. I emailed, and a girl returned my email, we spoke on the phone and on Friday, March 13th she sent me an email saying she was working on it and would contact me the following week. It is now the 27th of March and I have heard nothing. They appeared to react immediately, then nothing. I am most disappointed. Val Morrison (Derek) 604-277-8049/valeriebroadhead@hotmail.com

Best meal of our trip to Mismaloya. Priced right as well - had the cocnut and mummy shrimp, wife had the garlic mahi mahi, plus some margaritas and guac. Bill was about $40. Sunset behind us, perfect setting and a great experience.

Ate there for supper last evening. Taxi ride from Costa Sur 100pesos Elevator down to seaside restaurant. Had a piña colada…best alcoholic slushie. Menu on a chalk board set down in front of your table. Was Italian night so I started with breaded squid rings and fries.. that should have been enough but I ordered an meat-livers pizza… I ate half but couldn’t hold off choosing a desert….Italian cheesecake dulce de leche…beyond marvellous, shared with my wife. Wait staff were friendly and were on their feet all the time to bring whatever you needed. Open kitchen was eye-catching. I’ll give it beyond excellent along with the overhanging mountains and seascape. We spoke with some other guests nearby our table and all had rave reviews. Great ambiance. It’s located in a condo complex with a maître di who welcomes you at street level and calls for a waiter to come take you down the elevator from street level to sea level… They deliver takeout during the day, they wrote and as we’re staying another 3 weeks, we’ll go back again.

What a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean and the sunset. Food was carefully prepared and presented. Delicious!!! Must save room for homemade desserts which are so good you could even skip dinner and just eat dessert. Everyone was friendly and helpful too.

During our three week stay in Playas Gemales we had the opportunity to dine three times at the Mismaloya Grill. All of our meals were exceptional and the owners personally visited with guests each time. The grilled octopus was as good or better than the same dish we experienced while traveling in Greece. The location is amazing as the restaurant overlooks a scenic bay. Highly recommend this dining option for excellent food at reasonable prices.

Our family of 4 enjoyed 2 excellent meals at Mismaloya Grill. The owners were extremely accommodating of our young kids which was extremely helpful and refreshing. The dinners that my wife and I had were extremely delicious and the views were gorgeous. The second night we ate here was on their Pizza night which was very very good. The pizza was thin crust and our kids absolutely loved it. Desserts were terrific as well.....Key Lime pie and chocolate cake were great!

I wanted a change from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Vallarta, so I got an Uber to this restaurant in Mismaloya, about a 25 minute drive that cost around $9 each way. The restaurant is in a condominium complex, so the guard had to call the restaurant so someone could come let me in and bring me down, but once inside all went smoothly. There were a variety of meat and seafood dishes, apps, a full bar, and great service. My servers were young men who spoke English, since I unfortunately do not speak Spanish. Seating is outdoors overlooking the ocean. The food was really tasty, from my strawberry daiquiri, to the fresh ahi tuna I ordered, to the homemade key lime pie. All in I spent $40 including tip for 2 bottles of sparkling water, a strawberry daiquiri, Ahi Tuna with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and key lime pie for dessert. Well worth the detour from PV to check out this little town a short drive away.

My wife and I had supper here last night. It was ideal. The setting is in a small bay right beside the beach with a perfect view of the setting sun. The food was absolutely delicious (I had the pork chop and my wife had the mahi-mahi. We shared the dessert) The prices were fair. The husband and wife team that own and operate the restaurant are hands-on creating their own recipes and delivering the delicious food to the table. Bottom line… We recommend this place without any reservation.

This is always a stop at least twice when we come 3-4 times a year. The view, the excellent cuisine, and the wonderful family that runs the place is always special. It is 20 minutes south of old Town and the restaurant is a restaurant that is part of a private condo. It isn't advertised but takes any customer and makes sure you have a excellent vist and meal. Try Pablo's Beef Stroganoff .not a normal Mexican meal..but to die for and unique

Getting rather bored of our resorts food we ventured out the the Mismaloya Grill. Situated in a Condo building you are escorted to the restaurant via security. The setting of the restaurant is idyllic with panoramic views of the Ocean. We were there at Sunset....and WOW! The aromas from the grill will make you lick your lips in anticipation and your tummy won't be disappointed. Generous servings, so take your time and be sure to leave room for dessert! We tried the Mango Chicken, Pork Chops, Coconut Shrimp and Mummy Shrimp; all of which were delicious. This family owned business is definitely a jewel and well worth a visit ...... or two!

We visited the Mismaloya Grill today for lunch. The area is so beautiful! We were even entertained by a very active whale. I ordered the grilled garlic Mahi Mahi... absolutely delicious! It is served with rice and veggies, the flavor was excellent! My husband had the fish fry, very tasty! It included several pieces of fish in a tempura batter and really good fries. All very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
