A new place in Canggu, and it's amazing! We tried the breakfast burrito and Avocado BLT sandwich, both delicious with generous portions. The coffee was excellent, a perfect way to start the day. We're excited about returning for dinner and drinks. We also checked out the new KOMU Hotel, considering to stay here next time in Canggu. 😍

The evening started off shaky,, the restaurant was closed and the menues are all separate pages. However, once the food started flowing everything was amazing. The highlights were the pork belly tacos, pork belly ramen bowl, shrimp tacos, steak tacos and the jalapeno spring rolls.

Vatos Urban Kitchen, Canggu: Sorry chicken, we ate you, part 2. Apology from pescatarians. The menu leans heavily on chicken or pork. We had lunch at Alta Bar, at the rooftop of The Komu, and then dinner at Mex-Korean Vatos Urban Kitchen. It’s Nyepi or silent day and hotel guests are all held hostage in their hotel compound. Cutlery isn’t necessary at both Vatos and Alta, it’s going to get messy as Carl’s Junior’s tagline goes. Almost everything is finger-licking good. This time we had chicken nachos (the Korean marinaded chicken is a hoot) and Baja fish burrito. They truly fill for two. Built into the lobby area of The iconic stylish The Komu, Vatos exudes Mexican Japanese minimalist grace. The bar is visually arresting. The rest of the restaurant has a kickback yet chin held high feel. It’s muted classy. Bali has so many great restaurants but here was the grubbiest, heartiest tasty fare we sunk our teeth into. And licked off our fingers. #eatstylishtravelstylish Alta Bar, Canggu: Sorry chicken, we ate you. Apology from pescatarians. The menu leans heavily on chicken or pork. The rooftop bar at design icon The Komu, continues the same clean, minimalist Japanese design theme. It’s Nyepi or silent day and hotel guests are all held hostage in their hotel compound. At 1.30 PM, Alta was still asleep versus the 11 a.m operational time. It’s stuffy with no fan or AC. We waited 30 minutes for the food to be delivered. Where else can we run to? Alta Bar continues the Mex-Korean theme of Vatos in the lobby. The menu is a collapsed version of the one at Vatos Urban Kitchen. We had finger-licking Korean Fried Chicken, Tequila wings and onion rings. All gone within 15 minutes to a famished us. On any other day, I would bat an eyelid but it’s Silent Day and so will my protests be. #eatstylishtravelstylish
