Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We found this quant cafe by chance. It’s an indoor - outdoor affair which is suitable for both summer and winter whether just ducking in for a coffee/tea and a snack or to sit down and enjoy something to eat, it’s a delightful spot. Staff...are warm and helpful. The food delicious. Highly recommend popping in.More

Excellent lunch and great service. The best lunch spot in Golden Bay? Probably. I had the flounder/fish of the day, family members had the salmon and pork belly. Lovely building and location.

Saturday pizza is amazing! The chef certainly makes an authentic pizza in that the base is like a real Neapolitan one, fluffy and chewy. Since our trip to Italy in July, we were quite disappointed in the pizzas on return to NZ( the worst being...the one in Martinborough) so it was with huge surprise that our “ Accused” ( pizzas with appropriate “ courthouse “ names) as well as garlic pizzas were so delicious. The sizes are great ($28 for pizzas an $8 for garlic pizza bread) as I am a big eater so I was doubly impressed with the size and quality. If this chef continues, the courthouse cafe’s Saturday night pizzas will become a destination eatery!! Well done you guys!More

The best big cooked breakfast I have EVER had! From the 'in-house' baked beans to the proper sausage it was beautiful. The coffee was also excellent - would stack up very well against many good Wellington cafes.

We had a lovely late lunch of chicken wraps and vege soup. Turmeric latte was delish and nice to have art from pottery place next door displayed throughout.

Had the best lunch here on our 2 month trip to New Zealand. A blueberry and cream cheese muffin for me and a bacon and egg panini for Mr. We're looking forward to a return visit in a couple of months.

We were recommended this cafe by our host at the motel nextdoor. We didn't have time for breakfast but we found the cinnamon pinwheel and ginger crunch just the ticket as extra food on our day tramp to Knuckle Hill. The next day we popped...in for their fresh juice of the day - apple, lemon, orange, ginger, carrot - which was excellent.and definitely gave us energy for the drive back over the hill. Next time we'll make sure we have more time for a leisurely lunch - the menu options looked great.More

Brilliant food in a lovely old building, friendly service, great coffee. If you are able to, get pizzas on Saturday night. Absolutely delicious. We also had breakfast (eggs bene with salmon-perfect) and the avocado smash - also delicious. Scones and scrolls also great.

I had the cockles and garlic bread. The broth the cockles came in was tasty and the garlic bread yummy. The coffee was really strong! The premises and outside area were pleasant and the toilets were clean.
