First time surfing! Amazing time, great teacher
Had a great time surfing in a solo lesson with Megan. She was encouraging when i was failing and succeeding. She celebrated my successes with me and gave me tips when i didnt quite get it. Managed a 50/50 wave catch rate because of her Shout out to Megan for making my first surfing experience so amazing. It truly felt like flying every time i stood up

    Great trip
Great guides. The weather was great for us so although unfit in our 50s with a 12yr old nephew the paddle seemed easy and the whole tour was great. Great sights info and tea..............................................................

    Sea Kayaking Adventure
This was a highlight of our time in the North Island. I have never done sea kayaking before, and I was a bit nervous. Especially when I saw some of the waves. However, our guide, Elliot, was terrific and made me feel confident. We paddled to Donut Island and even braved the tunnel inside to get to the interior lagoon. Honestly, it was magical! On the way back, a few people tipped over, so make sure you use the waterproof bags that they supply you with. Once the tour was completed, we took advantage of being on the beautiful beach.

Heartfelt Thanks and Appreciation for an Unforgettable Kayaking Adventure
We were profoundly impressed by the scenic beauty, especially the mesmerizing experience as we entered the "tunnel" and reached the heart of the "donut." The Kawakawa tea, thoughtfully prepared by Jim, was a delightful addition to the experience. However, what truly set this experience apart was the invaluable assistance provided by our guides, Jim and Elliott. They enriched our journey with extensive information about the islands, guided us expertly, prepared refreshments, took memorable photos, and even gave us tow assistance! My mother, who is over 70 years old, and I shared one kayak, while my wife and daughter were in another. Both Jim and Elliott provided tow assistance, significantly easing our journey. On our return to the departure point, my mother and I unfortunately fell over/capsized due to the waves and our lack of experience. Jim promptly came to our rescue, efficiently pulling my mother out of the water, a job not easily accomplished with an elderly person in the ocean. His swift action was truly lifesaving. We are equally grateful for Elliott's assistance to my wife and daughter. Facing strong winds and waves, they struggled to paddle back. Elliott, after ensuring the safety of the other tour members and coordinating with Jim, towed them back to shore. Their kayak also fell over near the shore, but thanks to Elliott's help and the shallow water, the situation was managed more easily than ours. Despite the unexpected challenges, thanks to the full support and guidance from Jim and Elliott, we were able to safely enjoy the beautiful islands and have a truly unique experience. We are profoundly grateful to Jim and Elliott for their kindness and professionalism. Best regards, Jerry

    Donut Island kayak tour
Had a great time! Easy kayak out to the island with the wind at our back. I was in a double kayak with another individual (who I don’t think had kayaked before and didn’t speak any English), so I was frequently the only one paddling and trying to communicate with her to better synchronize our paddling wasn’t happening. Would have preferred a single kayak but our guide wanted everyone doubled up for safety due to the wind so I understand why that wasn’t an option. We got hit by a swell inside the island, so got to go for an unplanned swim inside the island! We didn’t get to spend much time inside the island (not sure if this is always the case or if our guide was worried someone else might capsize due to the frequent surges of water and someone get injured), but it’s a beautiful little lagoon inside. From there onto a beach of another island for some kawakawa tea and the opportunity to swim in the ocean. Definitely recommend!
