The whole trip was very well organized and fun. Being able to drive your own cart with family or friends is such a unique experience and creates some good memories. It was a fun packed family friendly trip good for all ages.

This was a great trip with Paul (owner/driver) having a great sense of humour and a great knowledge of the area. There were a few family groups with young children and he had them enthralled with his stories and fun. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.

There was so much to see and do. Our 13year old co captained our driver Paul which kept him amused the entire journey. Thank you Paul. There was no rush, every individual was made to feel special. This is my fourth time. Testament that it is a well worth family trip. Our youngest was 4, our eldest 69.

We took our Canadian friends on the awakeri rail adventure which we all enjoyed immensely. Paul's knowledge of the area & humour is what made the excursion so memorable. Loved the refreshment stop, we laughed & laughed 😅. This is the 2nd time we have been on awakeri rail adventure. Last time we took our 4 yr old grandson & his 6 yr old sister. It is an excursion for all ages.

This was such a fun quirky adventure. The weather was less than ideal but it was such fun! Loved the views, driving the cart on the rail and learning about the area. Our guide was hilarious! Thoroughly enjoyed our adventure. Its a great way to spend a couple of hours!

Myself and my wife went on this beautiful historic rail ride. We were the only ones on this particular trip and Paul the host/owner gave us the deluxe trip which included feeding chickens, patting horses and meeting Lucky the deer as well as treating us to some yummy freshly brewed kawakawa tea and a song even! Paul is very knowledgeable and extremely personable and made the already awesome experience even better. We loved our rail ride and would highly recommend this activity to everyone.

I bought a voucher at the Home and Garden Show in Taupo in 2023. Very reasonably priced for the whole family We thoroughly enjoyed doing the rail trail. We found Paul a great host with a great rapport and sense of humour We loved the little stops along the way that gave us a chance to learn a little bit about the area. A must for families that are holidaying in the area.

An enjoyable ride with stops to feed some chickens, take a brief walk through a bush and see a gumboot fence, and for a brief snack. My group enjoyed the outing - definitely something different to do. Safety was high on the list and explained well. At the snack stop our guide Paul surprised the group with 2 cakes to celebrate a participant's birthday. Was all smiles all around. A nice way to spend part of the day, recommended.

This is an absolute must if you are in the area. We have done the Chicken Run previously so this time we went with the Bushwalk & Snack Run. Paul makes the whole trip enjoyable while sharing some fun learning points. Will definitely try the Express run next time
