El Refugio was formed in response to the overwhelming need to help dogs and cats in an area where many thousands of animals are homeless and in dire need of medical intervention, daily care and nutrition. It takes a lot of love and dedication to carry out our great mission. We have a fantastic shelter in central Uvita. Come visit the cats and dogs! We welcome visitors Monday - Friday 9 to 11 and Saturdays 9 to noon. Ring the buzzer at the gate.
