I often stop at the local amusement park when I am traveling to another country and my trip to NZ was no different. Rainbow's End is a relatively small park with a mix of attractions. Overall, this park is average, and maybe even slightly below average when compared to other international small parks. The park shows its age and there just isn't any sort of polish that it gives off. There are two notable attractions including the log flume and the Gold Rush. The log flume is a pretty long ride and acts more as a dark ride than water ride. There are pixies, pirates, and dragons in a number of entertaining scenes. The splash down doesn't get you wet at all, hence more of a cool dark ride. Gold Rush is a funky family coaster with some fun miner scenes, but is a fairly short ride. Everything else is either a generic flat ride, ancient roller coaster, or kiddie ride. The park keeps the queues moving despite a low capacity on most rides. It will take you a half day if you want to checkout the park. I wouldn't recommend a tourist that is not an amusement park enthusiast to visit. There are better things in Auckland to occupy your time. For locals, this would be worth a try, but don't expect an above average amusement park experience - just a half day diversion.

Great place for thrill seekers, which isnt me but i did go on a couple of rides but spent time watching our grandson have the time of his life!! Food was really reasonably priced as you cannot take food in with you. Got to gate and sign said closed in shoes, but it was fine we didnt need them we just had to take the jandals off. Lines were quite long but dosnt take long to get through. Great place

We never waited longer than about 5 minutes to go on rides or do an activity. We went on a Monday and the weather forcast wasn't great so that could be why(rain held off until about half hour before closing). There is a good variety of indoor, outdoor, and involving water activities. I came here in 1984 and am back in 2024. I fondly remember the bumper boats from then and still think they are fun. I preferred Rainbow's End to the Goldcoast theme parks (the lack of lines and variety gives it those extra points).

Still as awesome as ever! Me and my 9 year old went on a Monday during school term, it was so quiet, never waited more then a few minutes for a ride. Log ride was a favorite, really fun. Bumper boats brought back great memories, always so much fun. Dodgems were a classic, more if gone on them like 7/8 times! As the roller coaster was not operating the VR was free, had a great time on it. The old kids driving school is now alaser tag, we had a few goes on it, was so cool. Goldrush is a fun little ride, shame it isnt longer...but still really enjoyable. As my boy is under 150cm, could only do the stratosphere on the moderate level, still gave a good rush! Space invader also is a good little ride! Overall a great day, well worth it as Monday was half price and so quiet. Cant wait to go back again!
