There are two attractions in Singapore that stand above other places to visit, namely the world famous Botanic Gardens including the National Orchid Collection and the equally world famous Gardens by the Bay. Both attractions will both inspire and amaze you. There’s so much to see at Gardens by the Bay in addition to the cloud forest zone and the flower zone so better to allow a more or less full day. It’s easy to reach by MRT followed by a leisurely stroll to the entrance. However, be warned that on this road cyclists pay little regard to pedestrians. To avoid long queues at the admissions building, it is better to book online in advance of your visit. It also prevents standing in a queue for some considerable time in the heat. Be advised that this attraction is extremely popular so aim to go as early as possible and you will hopefully avoid the many organised tours. The cloud forest zone is fantastic with its cascading waterfalls and an incredible collection of plants. Take your time! There is always a magnificent collection of orchids, pitcher plants, shrubs, trees and a host of other plants. Placed within the plants are some very interesting sculptures. The flower zone included some gardens from different parts of the world e.g. South Africa and Australia. Again, take your time! Our last two visits have been near Christmas and the flower zone themed decorations were brilliant. It can become very busy indeed so, as with the cloud forest zone, arrive as early as possible. The two zones form only part of Gardens by the bay. The awe inspiring supertrees complete with an high level walkway ( additional fee required) which are floodlit in the evening, the more recent wet zone and a number of cafes and restaurants for when aching feet need a rest) make for an exhilarating day! Make sure camera/ phone batteries are fully charged and comfortable footwear should be worn. Very highly recommended.
Hi Suratrichard! Thank you for your lovely words and looking out for our other visitors. It sounds like you had a splendid time with us at Gardens by the Bay! Your support is important in advancing our mission to promote a greener environment and we hope to welcome you back soon! Cheers, Lea

We came here on New Year’s Eve at night time to explore just before seeing the fireworks. This garden is a must do when you are in Singapore, especially at night time also if you can! We did have to pay to see the main Garden Rhampsody as it had become an event (Christmas Spectacular), which in itself was pretty cool because there was fake snow, stunning light displays and a nice light show attuned to music. We did a walking loop around the whole gardens which was approximately 3 km this was very flat. This area is a feast for your eyes you will always be seeing something so beautiful while walking here, you can go into a lot of different other attractions which can cost a fee (such as the the flower dome, skywalk etc) and you will also see the beautiful city buildings while here. You could spend at least half a day at these gardens or more. There are many places to eat in the garden, toilets available in the garden and it’s good for all ages. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

This is what we did. These gardens (park) are free however as most reviewers wrote, there are four paying attractions inside these free gardens which I will briefly review all these four instead of separate: OCBC Skyway: We enjoyed walking through that skywalk, is really nice. Great for photos. It moves a bit when there are winds. Think it twice if acrophobic. Will recommend to do this skywalk in the morning before 11, late afternoon or during sunset before closing time (to avoid noon heat). I would recommend to buy the ticket directly there, check the weather forecast before intending to go because when rains (a lot) or windy, the attraction is closed (reason why not buy the tickets in advance) Supertree grove: an observatory tower disguised as tree with a cafeteria and panorama terraces. The same applies about checking in advance the weather forecast. Flower Dome: One of the largest glass greenhouse in the world. Lots of different quality of flora, we particularly liked much the baobabs and the succulent flora, even though we are not much into plants and flowers, this is nice to see. We got some free flowers because end of the monthly flower exhibit (in our case, roses) Cloud Forest: Completely awe, we loved it. One of the tallest indoor waterfalls in the world with lush tropical plants and incredible skywalks. For each attraction check their monthly closure date if coincides with the days planned to visit. As wrote before, check the weather forecast for the first two; the last two, no problems to visit if sunny or raining. There are shuttle buses available when raining at a additional cost, very well organized. If don’t want to spend so much (or nothing at all) still can enjoy these gardens watching from the outside; there is a free night lights and music show in the trees area (Garden Rhapsody, check the hours, they change) and after this, can run to see Spectra show at Marina. Definetely the number one attraction in Singapore!

What a beautiful place. You need many hours to walk through the gardens. Everything is well looked after. Entry is free but if you want to visit the Flower Dome, cloud Forrest or doing the Skywalk it’s an entry fee, but worth it to pay and to see. The super trees are just stunning by day and more stunning at night when the light show begins. It’s also free but be early , it’s packed. Show is 7.45 pm and 8.45 pm. Takes approximately 15 min. Lots of Statues , eateries and restrooms in the park MRT is 15 min walk away
Hi hhx2_12, thank you for sharing such a lovely review! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your visit to Gardens by the Bay and we're so glad to hear that you took the time to appreciate the beauty and care put into maintaining the gardens' grounds! We can't help but agree that the Garden Rhapsody truly is a magical experience, and we're delighted that you got to experience that beauty! We hope you'll come back again to make more unforgettable memories with us :) Cheers, Lea

This is a Beautiful garden with so much to see from both inside and outside. Highly recommend to get the ticket for full access so you can check out all 7 levels in the dome and the garden outside. This place is good to visit rain or shine, but with more outside accessibility during sunny days. There are coffee and light bite can be purchased before going inside the dome. We didn’t really interact with the staff since directions are very clear throughout, so could comment on the service quality. Definitely recommend to spend half day here either for the daylight scene or evening light show.

Covering over two hundred acres, and a short walk from The Marina, the Gardens by the Bay are a spectacular lung for the City of Singapore. Amazingly, one is free to wander through and around the vast majority of them and they are exceptionally popular with Singapore residents – particularly those with dogs which are either walked by their owners of, more often than not, in groups under the control of professional dog walkers. Walking amongst the planting, which has matured very quickly (a given in the climate of Singapore – particularly with a bit of irrigation added, is a pleasant way to pass a few hours: plenty to see and plenty of shade and seat to rest old legs. Loos are located at regular intervals and there are various eateries located near to the main features. One small gripe is the paucity of labelling, (and the fact a lot of the pop-up sprinklers along the verges are set way too high!) Although the gardens are visited by millions each year, they are big enough not to feel crowded. There is an overhead walkway which connects the garden, via the interior of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, to the Marina Mall; Singapore is shopping, after all. Not unreasonably one pays (a very reasonable sum,) to enter the two climate controlled greenhouses (the Flower Garden and the Cloud Forest,) though they are so vast, “greenhouse” does not seem to be an appropriate term. They are impressive, to say the least, the smaller Cloud Forest more so than the Flower Garden which a jaded tourist and graduate of botanical garden visits around the world might ungenerously suggest – “seen it.” (I am sure some of the Fuchsias were the same as ones in my garden at home.) That cannot apply to the Cloud Forest which is pretty unique and certainly has the “wow” factor. All in all, we spent two mornings at the Gardens (and watched the giant tree light displays from the apartment balcony, a couple of times,) and we expect to go back next time we land in Singapore. It is not to be missed.
Hi eixalag! Thank you for sharing with us such a well-detailed review of your experience at Gardens by the Bay, it brought us great joy reading it! We are delighted to hear that you were able to explore both the outdoor gardens and our conservatories, and we are honoured that you chose to spend both your mornings with us! We truly appreciate your feedback regarding our signages and the heights of the sprinklers. We are constantly working on improving the visitor experience, and your comments will be taken into consideration as we strive to make the Gardens even better. Your support is important in advancing our mission to promote a greener environment :) We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Singapore! Cheers, Lea

It’s an absolutely stunning display of flowers and plants at Gardens by the Bay! We took the train to this attraction which was quite easy and efficient. It’s a stadium-sized under glass/covered garden that is climate controlled. It’s so cool and comfortable as you walk along the paths to the various beautiful gardens. We were here during Chinese New Year and the displays were just gorgeous! We stopped at the cafe in the dome for tea and dessert; we highly recommend doing this. ( try the carrot cake, the best I have ever had). It’s one of the most beautiful botanical gardens we have ever seen! We very highly recommend going here. Afterwards, we went to the Cloud Forest which is a gigantic rainforest. It has waterfalls and all sorts of tropical plants. You take an elevator to the top and then walk down the winding pathway. There’s many photo opportunities and a series of waterfalls. It’s quite unique in its design; we enjoyed this area as well. Do go see these attractions, you won’t be disappointed!

Despite the sometimes hot and humid weather in Singapore, the staff at Gardens by the Bay are always attentive and accommodating. They ensure guests are comfortable by providing helpful tips, like staying hydrated or suggesting shaded spots. Their dedication to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, no matter the weather, really enhances the overall experience.

This is a great place to visit and the perfect way to spend several hours. If you want you can pay to see some of the main featured gardens including the huge domes. However there is plenty to see for free if you don’t want to spend any money. The gardens and water features are stunning with some interesting places. A walk around the dragon fly lake is perfect as are the Heritage Gardens both of which are free. If it’s too hot to walk then the twenty minute audio shuttle is good value at 10 Singapore Dollars per adult. A great couple of hours.

One of the symbols of Singapore and probably the most original, spectacular and essential place if you visit the city. The gigantic artificial trees can be seen from the ground or (paying), from above, being joined by walkways that provide beautiful views. At night they light up and a light and color show is offered free of charge, which I recommend going well in advance to catch a good place. In addition, the park contains many monuments, gardens, lakes and even an aquarium. A wonder.
