Catch place of a casual get together
Popped in for a catch up with friends, as a group we ordered a mixture of drinks from the local brews though to coffee's. Had light snacks which went down such a treat we order another selection, loved the company, food and drinks. A great place for a catch up with friends, family or workmates. Heaps o room and staff were only to pleased to keep the atmosphere alive.

Great beer poor food.
We came on a quiet Monday afternoon. Very impressed with the venue and beers. Some staff were very friendly and helpful and happily gave good advice while other staff clearly did not want to be there. It was also not a good look having staff dressed in work uniform drinking and clearly worse for wear. Unfortunately though the poor quality and price of the food spoilt the experience. I am happy to give it a second chance though because every kitchen can have a bad day.

Wonderful food stop on west coast
Great, friendly space. Plenty of seating available. Staff are pleasant and accommodating . Consensus amongst our group was: fantastic lamb burgers and tacos , Pale and Hazy IPA’s- quite quaffable. This is a must visit spot on any trip down the west coast!

Great Fish and Chips
We had a pint of IPA and a glass of wine. The beer is average craft beer but at a very good price. The fish and chips with coleslaw was the real winner at $31. At least 6 pieces of gurnard and the crispy chips were the best. Definitely would've again.

Greymouth Gem
Monteiths Brewery Greymouth should be on your trip list not only a great range of their beers, ciders but a lovely menu to suit all diners. My go to was their lightly beer battered gurdard fish meal just the best. If in town well worth dropping in you won't be disappointed.

Room for improvement
Poorly trained waiting staff delivered an entree at the same time as a main and argued it was a main when clearly it was ordered off the entree menu. There was no interest in putting things right or respecting the customer. Another example of poorly trained staff. We wouldn’t bother going back.

Trendy, but good music.
They don’t brew here anymore so it’s really just like all of the other Montieth’s bars. A popular dinner destination. We were there for pre-dinner drinks only. They had live music which was excellent, but bar servers were understaffed, tasked with re-stocking merchandise and running food. The restocking took priority over service. They clearly make more money selling merchandise than drinks which were the most expensive we had during the trip.
