Wow! was not expecting this. We went for the Evening Combo, which includes a tour, a cultural show and a buffet dinner. and have to say it is a great evening. The tour itself is very easy, and one of the team take you around and talk through the area, which includes the chance to walk through a kiwi conservation centre, up to the main geysers. and time to watch these. You also get chance to walk through the arts & craft centre to see how they are passing on techniques to the young to ensure that the arts can be carried on and not be lost to time. Once the tour is complete you return to the main centre for a 3/4 course buffet, which is of a very high standard. the choices your have are all good, and all 4 of us loved it, did not feel like you had to queue for anything. After dinner, you are taken to the cultural show, in which they make you feel part of it, and the chance to see a mauri welcome in their carved house. Once this is finished you get the chance to go back to the geysers, and hopefully get the chance to see an eruption, sitting on the heated rocks. Overall a great experience, the 4 and a half hours fly by, and the experience is well managed, you get to learn about the Mauri, as well as see the geysers, and see some of the cultural side of the Mauri. Well worth the full experience.

We did one of the lesser known tours, Tuku Iho Trail, which was a lot more personal. Loved it and if you have a little extra time and want to get away from the main crowdI would highly recommend it. Our guide was amazing and we were able to go to places not normally on the main track and try corn cooked in the hot spring. Do yourself a favor a take a bit more time and try this tour.

This is an amazing place to visit while in Rotorua. Our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions asked by our tour group. He was a really impressive tour guide, I think his name was Kahu - apologies for the bad spelling I'm sure I've got it totally wrong! The tour includes a visit to the third largest geyser in the world, a kiwi sanctuary where we spotted two kiwis (an added bonus I was not expecting and was delighted with!!) and a tour around their schools of traditional Māori arts, all while hearing interesting information about Māori culture and traditions. I would definitely recommend this tour while in Rotorua.

Our family went on the Te Po Experience which began with a brief tour, a buffet dinner which was excellent, a cultural show, and time to do a bit of sight seeing of the geysirs. Everything was well done, but the cost was pricey. In fact the cultural show at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds north of Auckland offers a comparable presentation of Maori culture for considerably less cost. However, we are told the cost of the programming is to help fund training for young adults in Maori arts and if that is truly the case I don't begrudge the cost as much.

We had an evening meal and maori show and it was very good. The meal was a buffet and included food cooked in the maori underground oven (hangi?) as well as a vast array of other dishes. The shower started with the formal welcome ceremony and once we were inside we were treated to traditional maori singing and dancing as well as the famous haka. Well worth a visit particularly as all funds raised go towards the education of young Maori to keep their culture alive.

We visited for the dinner, cultural show and Geyser walk. The buffet dinner was amazing. The food included tasty treats of seafood meat and delicious salads and desserts.Request if possible to sit on the balcony area where you can watch the Geyser while you eat. Then we got to see the cultural performances, including the haka & poi. To end the night we went to the geyser to drink hot chocolate. The service throughout was amazingly good. Everyone took pride in what they were doing and wanted you to have a great night. A little expensive but well worth the money. It was good to know some of the cost is going back into preserving and passing down cultural skills to younger generations. Congratulations on the development of a wonderful venue.

We were on a bus tour but were combined with other guests. We received a tour of the cultural center. We visited th geysers. Had a fabulously delicious buffet with lots and lots of choices. Went to the concert which also included dancing. Truly a wonderful experience. Learned more about their culture and the pride they have. What I also admired about this experience was the welcome and the thank you from our host. I felt his comments were truly sincere and appreciative of us supporting and participating in the Maori culture. I felt the evening was a highlight of our trip. Would recommend.

Miri was our lead guide and Buster was co-worker. Miri took us through this magical and sacred landscape sharing stories she heard as a child and how as kids they played under the shower of the geyser spray. The spray is slightly chilly by the time it comes back to earth. But the rocks are perfectly warm and the springs just perfect for kids in the villiage to play in. The landscape was truely messmerising and the company was perfect. Thank you Miri and Buster xxx

We signed up for the Te Puia geyser experience at night. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences I've ever had. The geysers are massive and very active. They are lit up at night and, with a starry sky, it's magical. We had a two hour walk and observation of the geysers and saw them erupt. It was spectacular. The guide explained that the main geyser is the largest in the southern hemisphere.

Our family of four did the afternoon tour and dinner package. The tour started with a walk through what is essentially a cultural trade school where students are learning traditional crafts. It was quite interactive. We then went and saw a kiwi and on to the thermal springs which were quite spectacular. The buffet dinner was good with a lot of variety. Finally there was a traditional show with dancing and singing. A good insight into Maori culture without being too in depth or heavy.
