Paihia Dive is the best little dive shop in the Bay of Islands and it’s our pleasure to show you all the underwater wonders of this beautiful part of NZ. We offer trips to the spectacular Rainbow Warrior aboard our fully equipped dive RIB 'Aka Maru', which takes only 7 minutes from the shore to reach the dive site. Dive The HMNZS Canterbury, New Zealand’s last Frigate to be purpose sunk for diving. Sunk 11 years ago, she is covered in jewel anemones and sponges. This wreck is massive and well worth diving! Dive the Bay of Islands with the longest running dive charter operation. Paihia Dive has been taking divers under since 1978, and Craig has been diving in the Bay for 25 years. Great set of dives in a fantastic location. Did two dives, the first on the Rainbow Warrior wreck, the second in a nearby reef. Even with a bit of chop on the surface the visibility was good, with both sites offering plenty to see. The crew was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, with the dive master (Craig) providing a thorough dive briefing prior to both dives. I would note that this is a relatively deep dive (as mentioned in Pahia’s description of the site), so if you are uncertain about your skill level you should speak with the dive shop folks before signing up. Also, as space is limited on the dive boat, you will only be able to bring the minimum essentials with you and I would highly recommend bringing water, as they didn’t supply any. If you are in the area and looking for a great diving experience I would highly recommend going out with the folks at the Pahia Dive Shop.

Our dive day with Paihia Dive was amazing! This was out group of 5's first day on scuba in NZ- Communications between us and the company prior too was a breeze & they are so kind! The day of the trip, Craig & his team were very welcoming, helpful & organised! We were able to drive ourselves from the shop to the boat launch for ease of departure. The launch spot was top notch beautiful!! Craig was an awesome skipper, very knowledgeable about the area/history & thorough, relaxed briefings. Sophia & Emmie were great guides & friendly. The boat is so fun too! Rainbow Warrior Wreck & the reef with lunch on the beach was a perfect day out! Both sites were magical & lots to find 😁

I absolutely loved snorkelling with Paihia Dive. The guides were lovely, caring and knowledgeable. There were new and experience divers along with us, snorkelers, and the guides adapted to absolutely everyone. It was an amazing experience in lovely places full of fish to see. Recommend it 100%

Had the most amazing discovery dive with Paihia Dive. Everyone was so knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming even though I’d never dived before. I was a little nervous but shouldn’t have been! Managed to do two 40 minute dives and saw so much. The whole experience was incredible and I’ll definitely be back to do my open water course with them!

Thank you to Sophia for taking us out on our refresher course!! I hadn't done a dive in 6 years and I was pretty nervous and sure I'd forgotten everything. Sophia, as well as Craig and the whole team, were so fun and professional. She really put me at ease and made the whole thing so enjoyable. We dived at Deep Water Cove and the kelp and diving the cave was incredible. I can't wait to go again now. Thank you Paihia Dive!

Don’t usually give reviews but this was exceptional. Great dives on Rainbow Warrior and Neptune’s Cove. Craig and the team were really friendly and helpful. Tips: supplied lunch is a satisfactory sandwich, fruit and chocolate. You need to byo water. Equipment is in good condition. Snorkelling option is limited.
