The castle of Bouillon, the oldest vestige of feudalism in Belgium. Visit one of the largest fortified castles in Belgium and embark on a journey through more than 1000 years of history. Standing on three rocky peaks, the castle of Bouillon dominates the city and offers a magnificent view of it. During your visit, you will also be able to discover an art very widespread in medieval times : falconry. Admire the majestic flight of hawks, eagles and owls in a show with humor (from 10/02/24 to 11/11/24 inclusive). Finally, end the visit with the Scriptura museum which will tell you the history of the school and the exhibition of the fresco "The Armed Pilgrimage of Godefroy of Bouillon".

- Discover079083627651 contributionCity is magnificent and impressive castle. Possibility to visit the fortress in almost all (Do not be afraid of the stairs that sinks into the bowels of the stone). Welcoming and helpful staff (live Belgium). Medieval Experience... a wonder! Even the young children were submerged as far as the gates of Jerusalem. A little history of the city with the little Train and a relaxation in Pedal boats. And finally finish the day with a small restaurant on the banks of the Semois before climbing the hillside stairs to return to the castle and discover it with dusk and enjoy the light show on its facade on a beautiful summer evening... It was a wonderful day. And the Award! 16 € per adult for the visit of the castle, 3 museums (including the medieval experience) and the night show....! Many historic sites should be taken as an example! Long live Broth! And congratulations to "Visit Wallonia"! Ps: only downside if we do not take the audio guide we are a little delivered to this vast castle.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 August 2024
- Delphine BMiddelkerke, Belgium7 contributionsAn interesting visit if you come to the area! I recommend taking the audio guide which allows you to understand the history of the castle and its anecdotes. The little raptor show is very entertaining, the falconer accompanying it with a touch of humor which made us laugh. Find out about show times! I don't know if we were lucky but I preferred not to buy the tickets online (the site asks for the time slot of the visit). No problem at the ticket office.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 March 2024
- Simonpee17Vienna, Austria2,793 contributionsBouillon Castle is a real medieval castle, built around the year 1000. It was also home to Gottfried, a medieval hero who participated in the First Crusade in the Holy Land. Internally it is very interesting with several tunnels and crossings but also rather bare and very humid, particularly in winter when we visited it. Admission price in February 2025: 12€.Visited February 2025Travelled with familyWritten 1 February 2025
- Thal K8 contributionsThe idea of the Bouillon City Pass with unlimited time, with individual tickets to cut out at each entrance: Castle, Museum, Medieval Broth Experience is very convenient. So if you lack time to do everything in one day you can come back. Well preserved castle. It is worth buying the little explanatory brochure at the entrance of the Castle to understand what you see. Falconry show at the top and in FR and NL. Very nice to see these birds fly between spectators. Pampered animals with small pools available to wash and cooling system for big heat. Spartacus brave warrior of an "impressive" size and ferocity. Odyssey of lights: tells the story of the Castle and Bouillon through the ages. Translation into NL and English. Too bad that a large number of Dutch people in the audience on the evening of our visit were talking loudly and discussing what they were reading, preventing us from enjoying the beautiful spectacle to the full. Medieval broth educational experience and well thought out. Level Bouillon City for free public toilets. It is a pity that the incisiveness of some is tainting this initiative. Level catering (especially fast: fries etc) some possibilities but as soon as you leave the main road bcp of closed shops / for sale even dilapidated and unoccupied buildings. Too bad about this beautiful place.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 October 2024
- SteffidjiCompiegne City, France224 contributionsWe spent a WEEKEND on Bouillon for the medievals. 2 days and we have not seen everything! It is very well organized: parking at 500m: 5€, tickets in advance on the internet or on site. Reservation of sound and light in the courtyard of the castle, scanning the QR code. 20€ per adult for 2 days: visit of the castle (I was impressed by this castle: very large), sound and light, the Ducal museum, medieval experience (at the tourist office): very good, Things to do in the castle: birds, dance, songs... Thanks to all the people who were dressed in medieval clothes, all the companies, the camps, the educational aspect of the time...Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 August 2024
- Felix Felicis3 contributionsA chance to visit the night castle by torchlight. For 1h30, we followed an exciting guide who knew both his passion for castles and historical facts through many anecdotes of the Middle Ages, crusades, and the place of the symbolism of Godefroy de Bouillon in the Belgian national narrative. A very nice experience that allows us to live history.Visited February 2025Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 February 2025
- Debby S66 contributionsThe tour route is really very nice! It is numbered, which means that you can visit all the spaces, without missing anything! The castle is relatively large, you climb the ramparts, you go down into the underground passages... a real labyrinth that should appeal to families with children! After 1h30 of self-guided visit, we attended the falconry demonstration. For 30 minutes the falconer (Ivan de Gier) presents the birds of prey to us in an educational and interactive way. He does not hesitate to approach the public so that we can admire the birds more closely and to ask for volunteers to participate in the demonstration. He is very nice and very funny, we had a great time!! Finally, the castle offers a superb view of Bouillon!Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 April 2024
- Adeline L1 contributionWe had the chance to meet our guide Eric during the torchlight evening in this beautiful castle. A highly educated person who speaks passionately about the Middle Ages and the Château de Bouillon. He made us travel through his explanations and humor. Even the children were absorbed by his stories. A really top person! We would like to thank him very much for this wonderful experience. THANK YOU!Visited March 2025Travelled with familyWritten 14 March 2025
- NorthStar332066441996 contributionsWe went there on the occasion of the medieval festival and we had a great time. Between the visit of the castle with its shows of birds of prey, music...In the evening the sound and light show in the castle, the different markets and medieval village, the animations of fights, horses...a real trip in time! Great organization for a Titan job. On y reviendra 👍😉Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 August 2024
- Ma RMalmedy, Belgium9 contributionsWe took advantage of the activity proposed in February / March, namely the visit of the torchlight castle in the evening. Family with two young adults, we were all delighted! The castle is beautiful, the torches add a mysterious touch to the visit. A Templar guide of God’s fire kept his audience in suspense. I recommend without hesitationVisited February 2025Travelled with familyWritten 16 February 2025
