- GingerElbow198 contributionsWe visited this month as a family of 3 with 4 year old. We spent the FULL day here, it was busy but not so busy you feel overwhelmed. There is so much to do and no hidden costs once you get inside. Our child particularly enjoyed the the train which is included in the cost. There loads of animals to see and feed (minimal extra cost) and loads of thing to play on, climb and enjoy. We’ll definitely be back next next time we visit the area!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 July 2024
- John W1 contributionHave had annual memberships for myself and grandchildren for some time. Firstly with oldest who is now 8. Now with a two and a half year old and a free at the moment 1 year old. They enjoy going to the park but it is a bit rundown in parts. You are encouraged to wash hands often after feeding/touching animals - there are outside sinks and hand dryers. At one washing station one of the hand dryers has not worked for months, at another both were out of action and a notice said to use the ones in the adjacent toilets. Went to change grandsons nappy - in the gents toilet t the appropriate wc/changing cubicle. The hand dryer there was not working and wasn't working last time we visited months ago. In the musical maze there are various large percussion instruments with attached "drumsticks" - many of which have been missing since I took my 8 year old as a three/four year old. In the soft play - the sensory light hasn't worked for ages, the pig that you feed balls to has never worked and there are few balls for the other air machine ( those that are there are seriously in need of replacement. There is a room with air canons etc - that has rarely worked properly. You can feed the animals - get token from a machine and then fill a cup - these used to cost 50p now a £1. We used to spend around £4 (8 cups) but on the recent visit this only got us 4 cups - I refused to pay more. My grandkids love feeding the goats, sheep, lamas and donkeys - -but I had to ration the food to last the whole way round. Kids love going on the train - we did it three times on our visit. The fort is good as is the jellybelly/trampolines/go karts etc. It is a good , but expensive day out - season tickets are better value if you are local but very expensive as £35 for a 2 year old (under 2 free) but for 3 years on its £70, same as an adult. All in all my grandkids love going to the farm but it needs some tlc as mentioned above - maybe the fact that the lease is coming to an end and relocation a possibility is the reason, but some of the things I have mentioned have been that way for years. When our season tickets expire we'll have to seriously consider if we will be renewing given the cost for a three year old. I would have thought that a reduced price for all children would have been an incentive for families to purchase season tickets.Visited February 2025Travelled with familyWritten 19 February 2025
- Mike the DiverEdinburgh, United Kingdom254 contributionsBeen here lots but not for over a year. Went again today, surprisingly quiet given the lovely weather. So much to do, very scenic area lovely woods and fields. Loads of animals, train ride is great ( and unlike many places isn't charged extra ) big family go-karts are fab. Cafe slightly pricey but not outlandishly - sweet potato & chilli soup was lovely! Free parking tooVisited January 2025Travelled with familyWritten 18 January 2025
