- scubacol11Rotherham, United Kingdom2,364 contributionsVisited twice, once in daytime and the in the evening for a concert. The building has amazing architecture and has won awards for it, so much glass at so many angles, and looks completely different at night. Saw the Icelandic symphony orchestra performing their new year Vienna concert, so great to see and hear a full orchestra playing live with tickets at a very accessible price. Car parking is available underneath the venue, but it is much cheaper just over the road and only about 200 mrts walk back. Highly recommend visiting both day and night, especially if you can get to see a show.Visited January 2025Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 January 2025
- MarcusLozanoUnion City, New Jersey30 contributionsI went to Harpa to see the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. Sitting right on the water, Harpa is in a perfect location. The building is absolutely beautiful. It is all glass, so lots of light enters the building. The music was beautiful but it doesn't really matter what you listen to while you're there due to the beauty of the building. The price of the tickets is very fair and it seems to have a variety of events happening. I would highly recommend you at least enter Harpa and walk around for a bit.Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 April 2024
- Charis CNicosia, Cyprus349 contributionsThe Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre is a modern building in the sea front of the city that deserves a visit even if you will not attend a concert or a conference. The building's exterior glass structure reminds bee hive. The glass interaction with the light makes the building to "change colours" depending on the angle you see it. Apart from the conference and concert halls there is a café and a shop. There are also organised tours for those that want to buy a ticket and attend.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 August 2024
- WeeTravellingScotsPerth, United Kingdom117 contributionsAn impressive building on the outskirts of the city centre overlooking the ocean. The multi faceted glass facade means that the light impacts the inside and the outside of the building, particularly at sunset. We didn’t venture inside but can only imagine how brilliant it must be to hear and see a music act!Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 June 2024
- Hulafille114 contributionsWe attended a Christmas concert as well as Jazz Wednesday with a view here. The building both inside and outside is beautiful. There is a self serve coat room that is very handy. The bathrooms are accessible by having a paid ticket or by paying a fee. The concert hall acoustics were fantastic. I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. The Jazz with a view of the piers and bay was nice, and there is a bar inside the Jazz room. If there is a concert event you want to go to while there in Iceland , the Harpa is a beautiful place to be.Visited December 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 December 2024
- Chris R5 contributionsThe building itself is worth the visit - a modernist collage of glass and steel with harbor views on all sides. We saw the "Become Icelandic in 60 Minutes" show in the small theater - amusing, but not great art. Great art next time!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- 1234texasSeabrook, Texas5,350 contributionsThe concert hall is something you can't miss in Rekiveck--it dominates the "skyline" of the city and stands alone on the waterfront. The shape is unique and the complexity of the windows mesmerizing, lt is tough to figure out how they were made and installed. They look as if the building is a gigantic honeycomb. The inside is very modern and attractive with much open space. The restaurant on the first floor is quite good. The restrooms on the lower level are almost impossible for a rookie to figure out, even with a guest pass from the restaurant! This is the location for the bus stop to get back to the ship. It is easy to find after you have explored the city.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 4 October 2024
- ClaireWithLove2,451 contributionsHarpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre is a stunning green glass building, which is open to the public to walk in. Bathrooms on the 2nd floor and gift shop and restaurant on the main level. It is a gorgeous building inside and out. Looking out through the glass through the honeycomb, it reminded me of being in an Escher painting. Check the calendar to see if you can attend a concert or performance here. There are also guided tours available.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 March 2024
- MitrovicSlovakia15 contributionsA really architecturally cool glass building, built in a honeycomb pattern. It sits proudly overlooking Reykjavik Harbour. It's free to enter and wander around to appreciate the design and take in the harbour views. There is a cafe and restaurant too to enjoy.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 29 October 2024
- mak73New Providence, New Jersey137 contributionsThe architecture of the building is wonderful. The hexagon shaped glass reflects the light in unique ways. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the buffet brunch on the weekend. So much variety of food. Extremely tasty.Visited October 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 12 October 2024
