    LOVELY PLACE FOR THE GRANDKIDS
Me and my wife are visiting my son and daughter in law and their children aged 6 and 3. We heard there was to be a easter egg hunt so arrived. It was £5 per child. I am on a mobility scooter and it was quite easy to get round with the family. It took us about 2 hours to locate all the egg signs then returned back to hand in the grandkids forms, well the disappointment we thought they would get a egg, but the prize was a small pot of green slime. We then headed for a cuppa and ice cream then to a few rides on the fair. Enjoyed the day but felt abit let down with sline for the kids on a Easter Sunday, maybe a creme egg for the kids may have beet a better choice

    Well done Swindon Council
We were on our way to Salisbury so spent one night in Swindon as we wanted to visit Lydiard, as my greatgreat grandmother came from Lydiard Tregoze, so we strolled up from the Prem Inn in the sunshine to Lydiard Park and had a good wander round, The park is very pleasant and great for a Spring stroll, but on the down side the ladies toilets at the Forest Cafe were pretty manky, we had a drink and cake at the Forest Cafe which was ok but nothing special, and so onto the museum. We both enjoyed the museum, there is a painted window that is beautiful by the Dutch artist Van Linge, and there are good audio commentaries, also a very good exhibition about black American GIs who were stationed in Wiltshire during WW2. The staff were friendly and seemed passionate about the house. Next stop was the Walled Garden, a nice relaxing stoll in the sunshine, and finished off with some gorgeous ice creams at the Coach House Cafe, blackcurrant and clotted cream for me and salted caramel for the better 'alf, both delicious and good portions, and pleased to say that the toilets were much better than at the Forest Cafe. A good day out at Lydiard Park and very well done to Swindon Council for saving and restoring this Palladian mansion and Park, if I were a Swindon council tax payer I would consider money well spent. Good on yer Swindon Council!!

    Loved the place
What a lovely surprise, amazing place, walks, lake, house, museum, church, tea room, plants to buy, park for kiddies, tree rope climbing, can take bikes, lots of areas to take and picnic and relax, or take balls and rackets and have space to move and run. Parking for the whole day is under 5 pounds, but well worth it. Accomodation is onsite if you want to stay overnight, seems reasonable Will be back when the church is open, could easily spend a day there.

    The best picnic place!
We went there with family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed the visit! Our kids enjoyed the open fields and the beautiful lake! We didn't go exploring much as it was cloudy but we had the most unforgettable picnic there! Highly recommend the place.
