There is rich and beautiful history within Lagos’ 14th century walls, from its fortress to picturesque churches like mediaeval São João Hermitage and the 17th-century São Sebastião. It's no wonder Lyon is a popular area for travellers, with its dynamic university, first-class shopping, antique markets, vibrant theatre and music festivals, and a range of interesting museums, such as the International Puppet Museum and the Museum of Miniatures and Film Sets. So-called because of the honey-coloured stone used to build its villages, the Cotswolds offers visitors the quintessential English experience. The area spans five counties and boasts some of England’s most impressive country houses, castles, and landscapes. Plus, plentiful pubs make it easy to experience authentic English hospitality.

As Belgium’s largest coastal outpost, Ostend offers a rare taste of Flemish beach culture. Inland visitors flock to sandy beaches and the seaside promenade, while reminders of the city’s military and maritime history run deep in the old harbour town.

On the western coast of the Baltic Sea, Timmendorfer Strand invites you to stay and relax a while. The 7km beach is the main attraction (there's also a nude beach if you're interested in baring all).
