Founded in 1937, the Augusta Museum of History is Augusta's oldest historical agency devoted to the preservation and presentation of local and regional history. The not-for-profit agency functions as the steward of the community's rich, diverse, and invaluable material past. The museum curates the largest and most significant historical collection in the CSRA and functions as a historical research and resource center for professional and amateur historians, media, organizations, and individuals, and is home to permanent exhibition Augusta's Story, a 12,000 year journey through the region's past.

Guided canal boat tours depart daily from the Augusta Canal Discovery Center, an interactive interpretive museum that tells the history of Augusta's 1845 canal and industrial revolution in the American South. Housed in a 19th century cotton mill. Gift shop on site.

Nothing quite feels like the opening of the spring season when the world’s top professional golfers head to the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club to compete in the Masters Tournament. As an attendee to the annual event you can watch these athletes compete against one another on arguably the most beautifully designed, yet challenging golf courses in the world. If you want to be a spectator, tickets are extremely difficult to find, however you may have more luck trying to get into the events practice rounds, which require you to enter a lottery nearly a year before the event is actually held.

Step back in time at Meadow Garden, home of George Walton, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Built in 1791, the historic house museum has been open to the public for more than 120 years. Guided tours are available Monday-Friday, 10:00AM to 4:00. Tours are available on Saturday by appointment.

Built c.1898, this former Catholic Church is an architectural masterpiece featuring 15 distinct brick styles, 94 stained glass windows and Italian marble altars. It is a popular rental venue and hosts art exhibitions, concerts, festivals & more. Free self guided tours, an Audio Tour available and Gift Shop of regional items and great gifts, jewelry, books, art and more.

Located on the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta, the Morris is the oldest museum in the country dedicated to the art and artists of the American South. Its permanent collection includes nearly 5,000 works of art, dating from the late-eighteenth century to the present. The Morris also hosts twelve or more special exhibitions every year and provides a rich variety of public programs and events. Admission is FREE every Sunday.
