  • St Michael's Church Framlingham
St Michael’s is the parish church for Framlingham, and we have close links to All Saints Saxtead, an adjoining parish, north west of our small historic market town. The two parishes have historical links dating back to medieval times and have been a combined benefice under the patronage of Pembroke College, Cambridge since the college was given the lands and the patronage of the living by Sir Robert Hitcham in the 17th century. We are an open & welcoming community. The church is normally open from 10am-4pm. There is a mix of services on Sundays please see our website for details. On the second Sunday there is Parish Communion with Junior Church. .Team meet to do children’s activities during part of the service. At 4pm on the third Sunday of every month we have Alive@4 in St Michael’s Rooms. This is fun, fellowship, bible stories, activities, crafts & high tea. Baby Cafe Friday morning term time.

  • The Lanman Museum
The Lanman Museum is a museum of local history housed inside Framlingham Castle. It is an independent museum run by volunteers based on the collection of the late Harold Lanman. There are some fascinating artefacts representing all activities in the area, particularly relating to the end of the 18th and early 20th century, including education, entertainment and farming. The case of artefacts relating to Sir Henry Thompson is of particular interest with gifts of Faberge from the Royal family for medical services rendered as well as from other aspects of his broad range of interests (founding father of the Cremation Society, exhibitor at the Royal Academy, writer and early adopter of the motor car). Overall it presents an interesting view of a life style that has now gone.
