Reviews summary

THB Flora captivates guests with its modern charm and a welcoming aura, though the evening atmosphere sometimes falls flat with low guest engagement. Service quality at the hotel is a mixed bag, with reports of exceptional care contrasted by occasional lapses in politeness. Its location poses a challenge for those looking to explore town centers, necessitating either steep walks or taxi rides.
While the hotel's amenities, including clean pools and diverse dining options, are generally well-received, some visitors find the entertainment basic and the poolside lacking in shade. Room cleanliness and maintenance receive commendations; nevertheless, a few guests report discomfort with the bedding. Finally, the value proposition of THB Flora is contested, with some deeming it overpriced when factoring in the remote location and consequent transportation expenses.

Detailed Reviews
We have been to puerto del carmen at least 10 times and have stayed in a different complex each time from 2 star to 5 star and THB Flora is our favourite by far.
We stayed early march for 9 nights in suite 114, we were pool facing with a beautiful view of the sea.
The suite was perfect size, bright and airy bedroom to the front with a smaller sitting room to the back, 2 tv's but we never turned them on (too busy enjoying ourselves)
A small issue that could be fixed easy is that there is no shelf for shampoos etc in the shower - would be great if they could add these.
Suite was cleaned 5 out of 7 days, and the cleaner did a wonderful job each time.
there is music played at the pool each day and entertainment at night, both we could enjoy from our balcony, this was a big plus for us!
The breakfast selection was 5 star, above and beyond what we expected!! i have stayed in 5 star places in lanzarote and this bfast selection was far superior. The staff were lovely and friendly too.
Staff at reception were also v friendly, helpful & gave us vouchers for several free drinks, a nice touch.
We didnt go all inclusive as we love heading out in the evening for dinner so cant comment on the food/selection.
It is about 10 mins downhill to beach, there is a courtesy bus too or a taxi is about 2.50e.
There is a good hill, but that doesnt bother us.
Also they supply beach towels, which is great and you can rent an iron (decent one) for 7.50e.
I saw a review below about a stags do, they stayed same time as us, they were a bit loud, but nothing that would bother us!
We had our best holiday in PDC and would like to thank you for giving us such a wonderful place to stay.
I wish ye all the best and hope to return later in the year when the world returns to normal!

A fantastic family holiday. Very clean, helpful staff
Very reasonable for a large family like us.
The all inclusive food was amazing highly recommend
Rooms are newly refurbished with a small kitchen area.
The beds are so comfy
Cleans towels almost daily
Great selection of drinks and food throughout the day
Very helpful when we asked about having rooms next door and was accommodated the next day
We are booking again for next year and can’t wait to go back
A must for anyone wanting a reasonable priced holiday the only down side is a hill up to the flora but a young fit family would not find it a problem

We’ve just returned after staying at the THB flora for 5 nights on a half board basis. When we arrived we were able to check into our room straight away, we were put in the annex part of the hotel which was located across the road with an underground tunnel access between the main part and the annex. The annex part had its own pool which was more quiet and no access fo refreshments or anything. The apart we were given seemed to be for self catering as it was equipped with a fully fitted kitchen.
When walking in the room it appeared clean but very Dark, dingy and had an unpleasant smell. That evening we went out and on returning there seemed to be leak in the bathroom. The door to the apartment was a sliding door which also was effort to shut and difficult to look at times. We complained to reception that night to be told they couldn’t move us right away as there was no other rooms clean available at that time. We were reassured to return to reception the next morning and that they would find us another room. I did state I didn’t feel comfortable with the leak etc but I was told by the lady “ I just work on reception”.
The next morning we returned and a very kind Spanish man receptionist reassured us we could move to a room in the main hotel part by midday once it had been cleaned. Our new room was absolutely delightful, it was overlooking the pool/ sea view. Very clean , smelt fresh , had a lovely outside terrace bit. It was also more convenient being half board as we were nearer to the restaurant. We are still unsure why we were placed in the annex when we did not require a full fitted kitchen and any body who was self catering seemed to be over there!
The food in the hotel had a good variety, breakfast had a lot of choices , some English choices too like hash browns sausages etc. They cooked fresh eggs in front of you as well as pancakes ! Dinner options was also good, food fresh plenty of choice always something to have.
The main pool was a good atmosphere , music , they also seemed to do a lot of activities for the kids. Being only half board we did find ourselves buying a few things from the poolside bar which we didn’t feel was good value for money. It was expensive for what it was, burgers were approx 3.50 but very small in size, coffee was 2.50 odd and was served in a small cup ( ok for all inc but not if paying ). So we found it easier to get a bite to eat elsewhere during the day.
Overall despite the annex experience on the first night , we found our stay very pleasant. The hotel is in a great location only a 15 min walk from the main beach and shops restaurants etc. There is also a supermarket near by and a couple of other local restaurants. The hotel has a convenient shop on site too which was handy. We would definitely come back again but request to stay in the main part. The overall cleanliness was good as well. The cleaners worked very hard.

Dear charlottek837 Thank you so much for staying at the THB Flora and for your detailed review. We always check deeply our room before any new check in but we understand than on rare occasion a fault can happen at anytime and on that we strive our best to find a solution at the moment. Unfortunately this was not the case and due to availability we had to wait the following day. However I am very happy, to read that after not the best start you had really great stay with us and you could enjoy the view from your room, the food we provide and the cleanliness of our rooms and hotel. We really look forward to having staying with us again in the near future Kind regards

After a 4am get up and 4 hour flight we arrived at THB Flora at 1.30pm on 29th feb 2020 to be told we could not get in our room until 3pm. This is the time stated for check in which is fair enough but the receptionists did not go in any way above and beyond to get us in sooner although guests older than us got in before this stated time. We avoided reception at all cost because of the frosty welcome we received, I cannot comment on all the receptionists but the middle aged man and woman on that particular day were not at all friendly with us- not what you need after a full on morning of travelling.
The rooms could of been a lot cleaner, there was a constant dirty smell in our ground floor apartment and the floors were dirty, you could not walk around barefoot. There was one day when the room was cleaned to a high standard I think that some of the cleaners are better than others so just depends who you get. It is a shame as the rooms are lovely and spacious with good english channels.
The pool area was nice and relaxing, we only went around the pool across the road not the main one.
Overall I would want to visit again as we loved the location being close to the harbour so aslong as you go in expecting a 3 star you will not be disappointed. I just hope cleanliness is taken more seriously next time and the receptionists treat couples in their 20s with the same respect as couples 50+.

Dear I2578QGlaurab , Thank you very much for your nice words to us. We also would like to thank you for having chosen Hotel THB Flora for spending your holidays and for the time you took for writing this review. The entrance in the apartments always depends on the apartments that are assigned with special requests by the clients like ground floor, next to swimming pool, mobility problems, far from swimming pool. We take all these requests into account when we deliver a room, all customers must leave the room at 12:00 after our cleaning staff has to clean it and our technical service staff check and fix the damage, so that it is in perfect order, the smell you could feel at the entrance is the smell of paint because they paint the stains left by the previous guest, we have already changed and we are using scented paints. Hopefully we have another opportunity to welcome you a next time at our facilities. Greetings from Lanzarote

We stayed a week in a junior suite facing the main pool with sea views and it was easily the best spot in the hotel. Flora is a very decent 3 star hotel and you can tell the staff work hard to keep everything up. We went all inclusive for convinience and although the food is fine, I would've preferred b&b as we ended up eating out several times. The main town /strip is a 15 min walk, mainly downhill but you can catch a taxi back up for cheap 3-5 euro which we did lots. Hotel's swimming pools were good - there were several plus a splash park for the kiddies, water was a little cold so would've been great if heated more. Didn't see much happening with kid's club and the entertainment area was under renovation so can't really comment on these. My biggest complaint however was the beds, extremely uncomfortable and gave me a sore back from night one. They were two single beds (like camp beds) pushed together so felt very flimsy and slight turn in bed meant the whole thing moved which became annoying every night. I just think out of all the things hotels need to get right is to provide guests with a decent night's sleep (especially on holiday!). Overall we had a good stay but for me a good night's sleep is a deal breaker.

What a great hotel, from I arrived till I left everything was perfect. It says its a 3 star but it deserves 4 stars. I could not fault the hotel at all.
The rooms were amazing from the comfortable beds to the powerful hairdryer in the bathroom also shampoo and shower gel supplies.
There was fridge and kettle, glasses, cups, spoons also a cork screw. These were located in the extra sitting room which can be used as a bedroom.
The bedroom had loads of sockets also next to the bed either side. Loads of storage for your cloths and other items.
A previous review mentioned that you had to be up early to get a sunbed - that is so wrong as every night the sunbeds are put away and not put out till 9 the next morning, yes there were often some people waiting to get a bed but I never had any trouble getting a sunbed, it says that there is a deposit for the towels for the sunbeds there is not, you just ask for a towel and from the lifegaurd (who is there watching the pool all day) and he gives it to you.
The room was cleaned to a very high standard as was the whole hotel, the staff were constantley cleaning, there was sanitisers everywhere possible.
I do not know how people can complain about the food the choice was amazing for an all inclusive, the choices were great ie steak, pork chops, lamb chops, honey glazed sucking pig, seafood paella just to mention a few, the choice and selection could not be faulted for any of the meals.
The staff were so friendly and helpful they could not do enough for you.
Yes it is at the top of a hil, I walked down and got a taxi back, it is only 4/5 euros back to the hotel depending on how far along the strip you are.
I enjoyed it that much that myself and my family are going back for Christmas.
I was there by myself and never made to feel alone or any different from couples/famlies.
I look forward to my next visit.

Can I just begin with saying that the hotel maids, could not be any nicer and they are the one’s putting the hard graft in, compared to the reception staff.
I really don’t know if it was an age bias because we are young (23,20) but the attitude of the staff at the reception anytime we asked a question was shocking. It was like you were bothering them and we were walking on eggshells around them.
My girlfriend asked for towels to go to the beach with during our stay. We were told on the first day that you could get towels from reception for this.
We asked the guy at the reception for towels and he just kept repeating that the maids would clean our room and give us clean towels. After multiple times of telling him we were told we could get towels at the reception, the penny finally dropped and he gave us them much to his annoyance.
The overall hotel itself is clean and the pool is lovely, we were located at the flora 2. The cleaning times of the rooms needs to be a bit more consistent. Went from 4pm some days to 9am others.
Good stay but staff attitude let it down and I don’t think we will be back.

I stayed at THB Flora in Nov 2021 for one week with a friend in a junior suite and were all inclusive. We payed all inclusive as it wasn't that much more than half board.
Our room was above the bar with a nice view overlooking the main pool, and the sea in the distance. The room itself was pleasantly larger than we expected with an extra room with a couch and TV etc. The shower was great but the bathroom door wouldn't lock/shut and would swing open unless you blacked it. The towel rail was also broken and fell out of the wall and never got fixed for the duration of our holiday meaning towels were left on the floor.
The beds were made most days whilst we were there however they were not cleaned or changed once while we were there. I asked the reception staff about this and they assured me they were changed every two days. I was very disappointed to find that this was a lie as there was a small blood stain (due to my own doing) on the bed sheets I was sleeping in which was there every day of our stay. This was raised more than once. The floor was never mopped and empty drinks were not collected - we ended up doing these things ourselves which I find a bit poor.
The pool area was very clean and tidy but the sun beds were a bit on top of each other. Bar staff were very friendly but we wasn't too keen on the food and drink and so we ate and drank out most days/nights meaning our all inclusive was a waste of money.
The hotel location is average, 15 - 20 mins from the front. Walking there is okay downhill but walking back up cardiac hill can be hard work and is probably better getting a taxi for 3 euros (this also helps you avoid the endless ring of drug dealers in the old town).
Overall a good hotel but you get what you pay for.

We initially booked four nights half board here before moving elsewhere on the island. In the end our flight got cancelled and the airline booked us back here for another night which was much welcomed at the time as we could check in at 1200 and the free Wi-Fi here is excellent and available in each room, at the restaurant and pool area. The food here was ok but the fish is not de-boned and the fish soup was the same. Also in the restaurant it is hard to get anything from the show cooking section, even at breakfast a fried egg is a 5 minute queue if you can summon a chef. The cleanliness here was superb, the free satellite TV and free Wi-Fi was a good service and the rooms very modern and spacious. Would come back again, but would have to be room only. Even the self catering equipment is limited. A fridge in the room is good to use though. Air con sufficient if you can understand how to activate the system.

I have very little to say about this place that is positive. The only positive I can find is that it's fairly close to the old town for some lovely restaurants and the beach.
Now for the negatives.
We were booked in the day the sandstorms arrived in the canary Islands. We boarded our flight to Lanzarote and were 25 minutes from the island when the captain announced all airports in the canary Islands were closed and we would be turning round to land in Faro. Bear in mind these storms were the worst in 30 years so I'm sure everyone on the islands were aware that no planes were landing!
We flew from Faro two days later once the airports were open again. We arrived at THB Flora and were met at reception by the most rude arrogant man ever! He looked at our holiday accommodation voucher and said "you should have been here 2 days ago". We explained the airports were closed and our flight diverted and we have only just landed. He started arguing with us saying "well you should've rung us". We tried explaining we were on a package holiday and that we were sure Jet2 would've notified them. He starts arguing with me saying "Jet 2 don't care about you it's up to you to call us". Then he tells us that because we didn't check in during the sandstorm with airports closed our booking for our room was cancelled and they don't have a room. After 2 days to get there this is not what you want to hear! He would not listen to us and constantly argued, only backing down when I said I was ringing the Jet2 emergency number. Whilst I was on the phone he miraculously found another room.
The rooms smell, they are basic and the bathroom floods every time you have a shower.
The cleaning staff are so noisy you can hear them shouting to one another whilst you are in your room and this starts from early morning!
The pool area had plenty of beds for February but relaxing it certainly isn't. Constant cleaning trolleys being wheeled around and around with staff shouting.
Our final day we returned from breakfast and found a selection of black rubbish bags surrounding our patio and we hadn't even checked out!
Would we return...not a chance!
We are just pleased we only stayed 2 nights because of the sandstorm and our first 2 nights in the Algarve were lovely!

Dear leessilou , Thank you very much for sharing your impressions about your holiday at THB Flora. We regret to know that the hotel did not meet your expectations but we highly appreciate the opportunity you give us to improve our standards of service. Your feedback is our greatest asset in order to achieve progress and innovation. During the sandstorm, which had not happened for forty years, there were many cancellations and modifications of the reservations because the guests could not fly, many families had to find hotel accommodations that were left without accommodation at the airport during those days. These were very hard days and we regret the problem we had with your reservation, which we were never informed of all these changes. And for us to confirm a reservation previously has to be confirmed by the travel agency. We are sorry for what happened we are saddened that you could not appreciate in your assessment our food, our new gym, our pool area, our animation, how beautiful and renovated our apartments are as well as the work done by all the staff of the hotel Be sure that we take note of all your comments. Once again, thank you for your help Yours Sincerely,

Or contact EasyJet to clarify why they have changed the accommodation type from what you booked. But I suspect there isn’t actually a change, possibly just an admin thing.
Unsure. Sorry
