Paul & Katalina were amazing hosts and really friendly from the moment we arrived.

They were also really generous, lending us boogie boards and making all the guests amazing scones. They really went out of their way to make us feel at home and helped us make the most of our trip with recommendations of what to check out in the area.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the twin room as the other rooms were booked and we had THE BEST nights sleep, the mattresses are insanely comfy. The whole place was immaculate and the shared shower/bathroom was not an issue during our stay, no queuing. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Karikari! (El & Dan)

We recently had a great stay in the Pohotukawa Cabin at Karikari Lodge. It's clean, cosy and had everything that we needed. There's a beautiful garden area with views out to the water, which you can also enjoy from the comfort of your bed!

Paul was very welcoming and full of information about the local area. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to make the most of the lodge's location & amenities, but the use of boogie boards etc. is a big bonus and there are certainly some wonderful spots nearby where you could take full advantage of this.

Excellent value for money and highly recommended.

We spent a blissful few days enjoying the stellar private view from the Pohutukawa cabin (see photo), which had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Bonus: we enjoyed watching the neighbour's cows cruise by for a visit while the sun set on the spa pool! The shower was excellent, too.
Maitai Bay, only a short drive away, was our favorite beach during our entire 3 weeks in NZ. In the other direction, the shops in nearby Mangonui had yummy fish and chips and ice cream - though we didn't need to leave the Karikari Lodge to be well fed. Katalina was so generous feeding us local seafood feasts. On our final day, even with Cyclone Gabrielle looming in the forecast, Paul and Katalina toured us down the length of Tokerau Beach -- including digging for tuatua! Quite fun once we got the hang of it.
I hope we can return on our next trip to NZ. Big thanks to Paul and Katalina for welcoming us so kindly!

KariKari lodge is a great choice for a visit to northland. What a lovely tropical setting. The hosts Paul & Katalina could not have been nicer. We stayed for 3 nights in the self contained cabin with a lovely view across the paddock to the sea. The cabin was very clean, breakfast items provided and every amenity you might need to enjoy your stay. Katalina brought us home baking and Paul even brought the kayaks down to the beach for us to use. We had a great time during our stay only wish it had been longer. Would definately come again. Thank you for providing this special place for a memorable holiday.

I had a lovely stay with Paul and Katalina over the long weekend. They were incredibly kind and went out of their way to ensure I was warm, comfortable and well fed. I was really blown away by their generosity!

I stayed in George the caravan, which was very well set up with everything you could need for cooking, a surprisingly big bathroom and a comfortable bed. Both Paula and Katalina spent time giving me recommendations of things to do in the area and I only wish I’d had longer to see it all. I would highly recommend Karikari Lodge as a great place to stay for a short or extended period. You’ll be welcomed like one of their whanau!

The accommodation was extremely tidy and well equipped. The host, Paul, is fast and friendly replying questions and with any issue, you might bring up. One of the top ten Airbnb we have visited during our 3 months journey through NZ.
Unfortunately we stayed only 1 night. We should have stayed longer, as there are many things to see around.
