Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful stay at this lovely little motel tucked away in a quiet part of town. Very clean, towels so soft, warm electric blanket and comfy bed. Hosts are so welcoming. Far exceeded our expectations and we look forward to staying again.

This motel is a no frills motel. No kitchen or shampoos etc but a very nice place to stay for an overnighter. The room had a lovely comfortable bed, a small fridge, hairdryer tea and coffee. Lovely lady who checked us in and nice clean and tidy unit. We were going to be late checking in so she told us the unit number and left it ready for us. Would definitely recommend.

Ngaruawahia is about a 15 minute drive from the Waikato City of Hamilton. The Arrow Lodge Motel seems to be the only real accommodation option in this little town nestled on the banks of the Waikato river. Ngaruawahia itself is steeped in history and is a very important settlement for the Maori people. The Maori 'King' lives in Ngaurawahia.

The Arrow Lodge is scrupulously clean and tidy but more than a little dated with decor. The interior design is straight from the 1970s and is probably unchanged from the day it was built. Having said this, it is comfortable and a good option if other accommodation in Hamilton is not available. The motel is very close to the banks of the Waikato river, a short walk from the main shopping area of Ngaruawahia.

A cooked or continental breakfast is available each morning.

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the two lovely cats were lovely, making me feel very much at home.

In short, the Arrow Lodge is basic, clean accommodation set in a very quiet neighbourhood. It is a good option if you are in Ngaruawahia for business or pleasure.

Place is filthy, rooms are disgusting, not cleaned properly, no pride what so ever. Rude entitled workers. I would not consider this place At All!! I should have driven the extra 20 minutes to Hamilton. The hill to get to the motel is a mission wouldnt recommend for elderly at all. Good location.

I would have loved to say that this was a great place to stay...but it was far from great.
Yes sure the hosts were excellent, friendly and did go the extra mile whist being at the motel but tired decor, a board with a thin double mattress as a bed and being overcharged at check-out are just some of the things we did not like about this motel.

Room-service....upon returning to our room in the late evening we discovered that someone had been in the room, moved our belongings around eg keys, wallet, cellphone, reading book, tablet which were all left on the kitchen table and the side draws of our queen bed in the room. 5minutes after discovering this, the hosts comes down and let's us know that she had serviced the room. To this day, we are not happy with this.

Over charged at check out - one price was given when booking was first made and another price was given when it came time to check-out. Not good at all!

SPIDER AND INSECT PROBLEM BIG TIME! Come on down to insect-ville if you dare! Spiders creeping up and down the wall, insects crawling in the kitchen and kitchen sink....was just eeww and gross! Had to end up going down to New world and getting fly spray and insect repellent for our kids sake!

Overall My family and I will never be returning to stay at the Arrow lodge again.

Good accommodation if perhaps a little pricey for what is on offer. Clean rooms and friendly staff but the town itself is a 'little rough'. Rooms serviced daily. Staff go the extra mile to help. Good experience overall.

we arrived 30 minutes before we were due to be at a wedding. kori & nick - our hosts - suggested they drop us off & pick us up as there is no taxi service in the area. we went 'thanks. add it to the room please.'
keys to family car are missing but nick can take you in the work truck' kori says. we just happy for the ride so we head out & she has covered our car seats with towels & bed linen so not to dirty our wedding attire. 'we been spoilt' my wife whispers.
we call kori after 9pm & she arrives in the family car 5 minutes after to take us back to the lodge. kori offers to take us anywhere for refreshments. we decline but the fact she was looking out for us was great.
our modern room had a comfy bed & had fresh linen throughout. the shower had adequate pressure & iron & hairdryer was available in room. the flat screen mounted on the wall had clear freeview channels - & we needed nothing more (the rsa club across the road promoted all sky channels)
nick drove me back to the wedding venue the following morning as i left gear behind. on our return i settled our account & asked to add extra for the taxi service. they provided they politely declined & charged us the room rate only.
awesome hosts going the extra mile to accommodate us. we highly recommend this facility to everyone visiting the area and thanks again nick and kori for your hospitality.

We had a function to go to one Saturday night so stayed overnight at Arrow Lodge Motel. It is tucked down a long driveway off SH1 - very quiet location. Our unit was roomy, clean and very good value. The sisters who attended to our booking were friendly and efficient. The RSA across the road provided great meals at a super price
