Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you want to experience sleeping in porta cabin then this is the place. Basic and beyond for room, smallest basin ever seen. Small electric radiator for heating, condensation on windows was enough to shower in. Bath outside bit cold in winter. Upside was breakfast brought to cabin, this was very nice treat before departure.

Sorry to hear our King Pods were not to your liking. Our Pods are New Zealand made with 100ml thick insulation and doubled glazed. Sizing is 17msq inside and 17msq outside on the deck. Our heater is an oil heater which is largest size you can get- temperatures exceed to 32 degrees which is extremally warm for inside temperatures. Due to the 100m above sea level snow outside and cold winter temps -the heat inside the cabins -the windows will have condensation. Basic is the wrong work: We have a fridge, microwave, tea & coffee cabinet with crockery & utensils - king bed, couch tea & coffee amenities , bathroom inside and a bath on the deck. Table and chairs on the deck too. Great for an escape to teh wilderness in National Park Village

King pods are VERY small! Bathroom is so tiny you could barely move inside the room. Facilities & grounds were standard. I'd recommend a one night stay minimum. I was expecting a little more privacy considering the bath tubs were outside on the deck of each pod. They were completely exposed to the main road & carpark. The photos on the ad and website look great, but in reality they are unusable due to how exposed they are. Beds are difficult to get into due to the small size of the pods.

Pleasantly surprised. Check in went smoothly as the owner welcomed us and gave us a quick tour of the premises and provided some dinner recommendations as it was late and snowing when we arrived. 2 bedrrom apartment looked just like the photos online. Rooms were clean and spacious for our family of 4. Only issue that we had was that the tv was not connecting the first night because the prior guest had changed the settings, but they were quick to fix the issue. Nice community room with fireplace on cold nights. If ever in the area again I would absolutely stay at Plateau Lodge again.

We change the date of the visit and the owner had void the refund and she believes that I did it intentionally to get a refund stating in her message. How does she know that? We book to go solo and after we change date to a much more seasonal date, then our friends wanted to join and they had already booked a venue in the area on 25,26 July, and when I try to change date it wasn’t available, therefore I decided to cancel, hoping to get the refund and booking at that venue, wouldn’t recommend to any one this place the owner was very rude in her messages, and she believes my intentions were to cancel the booking the whole time to get refund so much for customer service!. & policies.

Good Afternoon, When your change of date request was sent through ( change from 10-11th July to the 2-3rd September, not the 25-26th July as you have stated here), we were happy to accept this request and your booking dates were changed to the dates you requested. We also answered this request with a reminder that as per our booking policy booking we have a 72 hour non refundable cancellation period and since you requested this change 12 hours prior to arrival we would be unable to issue a refund if this booking was to be later cancelled. You then cancelled your booking after these dates were changed for you, not long after that we received a message requesting that we reinstate your booking for the September dates since you realized there would be a cancellation fee. As we explained that was not in our power to do so since you had booked through an international travel agency. We cannot access other booking companies systems to reinstate a booking that a guest has cancelled, which was why we advised you to discuss this further with your travel agent. Our policys are clearly stated in the booing confirmations you were sent and have not changed. We go out of our way to accommodate guest requests and I hope you can understand why this request simply was not possible. Again I would strongly advise you discuss this matter with your travel agent. Regards Sarah

Our stay started out fine, then the first morning of our stay we got a note on our car that it needed to be moved to the street for paving- we were then reassured it wouldn't be in front of the pods- and then received a knock on the door at 1 pm that they in fact were scraping and paving the lot in front of the pods. As we were traveling with our 7 month old, who was trying to nap, and the weather was poor leaving unable to do much exploring, it was very unfortunate news. The noise from the scraping disturbed his sleep as it rattled the whole pod. And then the smell of the fresh asphalt was awful and filled the space. We had reserved for two nights but decided to leave a day early. I requested a refund for the night we didn't stay- and was told it would be reviewed by "Accounting". Their policy was unless the night was re-booked, you wouldn't get refunded. But they didn't inform us about the scraping/paving until that afternoon- and who is going to re-book in a construction zone? There was no notice at the time of booking, or notification close to the date there would be construction in the space. I never heard back from "Accounting". They responded to another review basically blaming me, saying it only took 3 hours and I left right before check in- well, those 3 hours were critical to our son's nap and our experience and the smell lasted much longer. And yes, we left right before check-in- but were told the circumstances would be considered especially since we were traveling with a child. Bottom line, someone was more interested in taking our money than being forthright about the construction and understanding about our family circumstances. Who wants to stay in a smelly construction site? They should have told us ahead of time and given us the option to cancel. I'd advise taking your business elsewhere. I've included a picture of our view that day- I have a great video to put online too.

Gosh your feedback is 2 months old- thanks for pointing out experience. We are using teh same response as Google Reviews too for this guest: Our carpark pavement is looking fabulous and now our Lodge is looking amazing. Before the asphalt there was bare dirt, pot holes that you could loose wheel in and the look and health and safety of it was terrible. We are really pleased with the outcome. Our contractors where here for 3 hours. Our New King Studio Pods sorry you do not like them, 90% of our guests and international & domestic think they are wonderful. Our new addition is our outside baths. In regards to you leaving you left within the hour on checking in we had addressed all our visitors with notes and informed our guests what was happening.

The 2 bedroom apartment was absolutely FABULOUS! The kitchen had everything we could possibly want: oven, stove, toaster, kettle, dishes, colander, cooking pots, dishwasher, and more. The bathroom had plenty of hot water with good water pressure. The apartment was very clean. The furniture was extremely comfortable. The location was perfect with several great dinner options a short walk away and wonderful trails close. We definitely recommend Plateau Lodge!

Stayed in one of the king pods for one night. Perfect for us. Not a lot of room inside, but they had everything we needed. They added an outdoor tub on each pod’s deck, but with the close proximity to other pods and the road, we were too modest to try it. Shower inside had great water pressure, bed was comfortable. Would stay here again.

This sweet mom and Pop Lodge is the place to be. From the comfortable beds, huge bathtub, and amazing breakfast in bed. My wife and I are so grateful to have found this lodge after our hike we even met Tina for a massage in the morning, everything was absolutely perfect and more. They have laundry on site, a ping pong table and a trampoline for the kiddos. I definitely recommend this place!

Stayed in new pods - clean and modern and bed is comfortable. Just be clear about what you get. They are expensive for what you get. A bedroom with small ensuite, TV and minimal coffee/ tea making facilities. There is a camp kitchen which has basic equipment but sharing with people who take over, who are unclean and obviously steel all the girls is not pleasant.
