We have stayed in many holiday apartments/Air BnBs and this is up there as one of the best. The panoramic view of Raglan Harbour is constantly changing, it has a safe swimming beach, and the design of the property means you feel like you have it all to yourself. Very well appointed 2 bedroom cottage. We only stayed a night, which wasnt long enough

On the strength of the other reviews we thought we'd stay here for a couple of nights in July... but we loved it so much we stayed for a week. The cottage is so cosy, quiet and clean. And waking up on a winter's morning to look out over the water was just magical. Therese and Edi are the best. They made sure we had everything we needed and even sent us back the bits and pieces we forgot to take home with us... thanks guys:-) All the little touches like the cut flowers, the lovely china, and the quaint decorations made it seem that we really belonged there rather than just being visitors. We were very sad when we sat outside on our last night to look at the sun set and listen to the silence... but we still have the photos to remind us of this little piece of paradise.

Thank you so much for your review on your stay in the Beachfront Cottage. We really appreciate the time you took to do this, but also to know that you were happy and comfortable here, and that you received the parcel last week. We hope next time you need some 'r & r' you will come back. During the summertime the mountain walks are wonderful, and we know you had to eliminate them this time because of the weather. Kindest regards Therese and Edi, Waters Edge Raglan

One of the best places we have ever stayed. Therese and Edi were the most charming and helpful hosts you could imagine. The location is fantastic and the accommodation was comfortable, clean and well maintained, more like a home away from home.

We can’t think of a nicer location for a vacation and will definitely recommend staying there to Family and Friends. The property is secluded but within walking distance along the beach for the shops and restaurants of Raglan.

You should check this out before you book anywhere else, it is 100 times better than the pictures on their website.

Hope you enjoy your stay :-)

Gorgeous little gem- with beautiful views. Great linen, water pressure etc. Made feel very welcome and felt completely rejuvenated after our stay.
Our only criticism is that the cottage was described as 'luxury' on the Waters Edge website. Whilst it is quaint, it isn't luxurious. We sadly got eaten alive at night as their was no air con and we needed the windows open for air, and the wifi was pretty hit and miss.

Id say if you want peace and quiet, and want to gaze at the water - this is the ideal place.

Really glad you were able to enjoy our peaceful little spot. During the height of the summer we do get a few "flying" visitors - the only down side of living in such a gorgeous spot. Safe travels.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful especially with recommend us to use the kayaks to go around to see the waterfalls in the nearby bay. We really enjoyed staying at the cottage (the best option of the two in our view) with its personal deck, bbq, sky tv, free wireless internet available, and breathtaking views. The quirky cottage decore was unique but not in your face and I could see that it would still be warm and comfortable in winter with the gas fire. Fantastic pressure in the shower (kind of like a massage). It was great to see the work the hosts have put into the property. The perfect mix of fantastic friendly hosts and all the privacy you could desire.

We stayed at Water's Edge for two nights during winter. Photographs of the location looked beautiful and we weren't disappointed. On the harbour edge in a quiet bay a few minutes drive from Raglan township, the north-facing cottage captures all day sun. The new owners, Sue and Gus live in another home on the property, and had lit the gas fire before our arrival, so the 100 year old bach (the NZ term for an old holiday home) was nice and warm. Closest to the water is a long room with a comfortable queen bed at one end, two lounge chairs facing a television in the centre, and a dining table at the eastern end. French doors lead from this room to a sunny deck with BBQ, chairs and table. Separated from this room by a curtain is a room containing the kitchen and two cabinets of crockery and games. A small single bedroom leads from this. Beside the kitchen, at the rear of the cottage, is a bathroom with one basin, a good shower, and a separate WC. The only toiletries supplied are soap, so you will need to bring shampoo, conditioner, etc. In the kitchen, there is no stove, which may be fine in the summer with the BBQ outside, but was limiting in the winter. There is a microwave and an electric frypan, but to have a plug-in two burner cooktop provided would be a great help. Kayaks are available for guests' use, and would be ideal in the summer for stooging about the bays. Take binoculars for watching birds rounding up fish, and at certain times of year, orcas chasing kingfish up the channel. In view of the cooking facilities, and the lack of toiletries, we felt Water's Edge was a little over-priced, but the location, and warm welcome from Sue and Gus would mean we would recommend it.

My partner and I stayed here over Queen's Birthday weekend in their cottage accommodation. It was an absolutely lovely weekend. Their property is incredibly stunning even in Winter!

The cottage is quirky and very charming with a lovely gas fire that kept us toasty warm. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful.

I can hardly improve on all the other great reviews, can only say they get them for good reason. If you want a beautiful spot to get away you couldn't really do better than here.

We recently stayed at the Water's Edge B&B and couldn't agree more with the other reviews we read published on tripadvisor. It really is the most stunning place, so tranquil. Our stay was too short! The hosts are incredibly helpful and so welcoming and friendly, but not at all intrusive. The little touches made it in to a luxurious and quality place to stay. The bed is so comfortable and the sheets luxurious, 100% cotton to ensure a really good nights sleep. We can't recommend this venue highly enough. If we go back to Raglan, we'll make sure we book in at Water's Edge.

We had a wonderful 4 nights in 'The Suite' which was very well furnished and equipped and offers fantastic views around the bay and beyond. Therese and Edi made us extremely welcome. Waters Edge is in a superb quiet location perfect for relaxation after a hectic two weeks touring the North Island. The garden area is magnificent, well planted and we had our own small gazebo as well as access to a sun deck and the beach. We were able to relax and unwind. Raglan is only a 5 minute drive away and there are plenty of places to eat and a small selection of shops.

Hi Angela. My husband and I stayed at Water's Edge earlier in the year and I reviewed it for Trip Advisor on 10 August 2014. The layout of the cottage may or may not suit you, though the location and setting are lovely. There is no oven, just a hob and microwave. Cheers, Cadarnle.
