First 5 star review for me. This place is so special. You have to rate it for what it is... a motel! No fancy rooms, no big pool or stores in the lobby. Now, if you want to sleep in the area, this is comfortable as hell, the restaurant is perfect, great terrace so you can stretch your legs, right in the middle of town, small market right next door walking distance to the beach... perfect. And, if by any chance you need to stay a little longer in this place than "just" sleeping, then you will see the magic I saw. The hosts are the owners of the place, and they are there for you. I asked for a bbq for 15 hungry people, and they put it up amazing, with lamb and beef, great salads, desserts. They even went to bed and left the bar open for us to serve ourselves. Any issue I had,…
Very spacious, excellently arranged with a lovely private courtyard. The courtyard had planter boxes with fresh herbs growing which I thought was an awesome touch. The 4 square (general store) is right handy , as is the rest of the main town ship of Raglan. Off Street parking , friendly staff and when we had a small issue with the Wi-Fi it was sorted promptly.
Nice place to stay right in the small town of Raglan. Clean and comfortable but no air conditioning or screens in the window. Laundry facilities include 2 washers and one dryer as well as an outdoor clothes line. Free internet.
We stayed here last year, however we were staying in the main block this year. We were given a very warm welcome. The room we stayed in had recently had a new carpet and curtains, one was a voile, the other a blackout curtain, the bed was extremely comfortable and everything looked like new bed linen, I would have preferred fuller pillows, as I often sat on the bed and needed support. I found the two chairs, just be be that, chairs, not for relaxing in at all. All in all this motel had no competition in Raglan, having stayed in Paihia in a similar priced room, with superb comfort, I think they would benefit from competition. In saying all the above, Raglan is such a super place to visit, the staff are great, and they are upgrading all the time, perhaps it's time to look around…
We have one night left and are dreading it!! 16 Wainui Upper Road.... avoid the downstairs appartments!!!!!! You hear the upstairs people walking , talking, scraping chairs!! So you can imagine them arriving home late after a few drinks .....aaargh!! Our 2 kiddies were up till midnight!!! Your pretty much in the basement!!!!
