We stayed one night so we could enjoy the Raglan nightlife. This backpackers is perfectly positioned for easy level walk to the shops and cafes. I was impressed with the strict silence maintained on the property overnight which made for a perfect sleep. The double room had excellent blockout blinds

We could highly recommend Raglan backpackers. The accommodation is comfortable, tidy and clean. The staff are very friendly, the location is superb, and the scenery from the backpackers is stunning. Jamie's surf lessons are excellent and a must-do while here. He is knowledgable, a great teacher and passionate about helping others experience surfing, or getting those who have not done it in a while back into it.

My daughter had two surf lessons with Merryn and absolutely loved it. She was fun, patient and encouraging. Beautiful township with a lovely vibe. The lessons were great value for money plus included surf board and wetsuit hire. Friendly front-of-house staff too.

A great hostel with a lovely atmosphere and super close to the main high street in Raglan. We took two surfing lessons with Jamie and he was really good at teaching us the basics and making us confident in the water even though we definitely not naturals. We had an awesome time and will be trying to surf again! Great value for money.
