Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Jezero Hotel is celebrated for its prime location next to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a feature frequently extolled by guests. While the service receives mixed reviews, with instances of both helpful and less accommodating staff, visitors often find the hotel's value undercut by its somewhat dated condition.
The rooms, considered spacious with pleasing views by some, are generally seen as in need of modern updates, lacking conveniences like air conditioning. Despite the hotel's well-maintained cleanliness, the overall atmosphere is described as stale and outdated.

Detailed Reviews
Staying at hotel Jezero is unique. I did enjoy the stay and would recommend for everyone visiting the Plitvice Lakes national park.
The hotel feels like living in the 70s which I think was so cool. However things worked and the room was very clean and comfy enough. The hotel also has all the necessary amenities like TV, hair dryer, toiletries, restaurant. Breakfast was way better than expected in quality and variety. During covid, they have people stationed at buffet area to pick and get food for guests which was cool.
Yes, this hotel is not at the 4* international level. However, the price, especially with the summer combo park tickets, is half or one third the prices of international chains in Dubrovnik or Split so I’d say the value is fair. The most important thing was we were there to see the park and this hotel provided the perfect location for it. We could walk for 10 minutes to the entrance and park the car for free during the day. And Plitvice Lakes national park was wonderful.

Before you consider staying at any hotel in a national park, you really need to have practical expectations.
I have stayed in several hotels in national parks in the US. I am sure that there are a few that are high-end (perhaps in Yosemite Valley?) but for the most part, in my opinion, they are usually comparable to a good motel. You are paying for location and convenience. You shouldn’t expect the Hilton or Sheraton.
My review is judging Jezero Hotel in comparison to other national park hotels not hotels in big cities (for example, I stayed in Hilton Canopy in Zagreb and paid the same price as Jezero Hotel but it was an incomparable experience).
Jezero is what you would expect out of an average national park hotel. Dated but well maintained. The room was small but had a nice balcony (that looked out into the parking lot but still large and a nice addition to the small room).
My biggest complaint was the lack of outlets. There were none by the bed. There was one by the desk and one on the wall adjacent to the bed. This wasn’t convenient because we wanted to charge our phone while we slept and also plug in a cpap machine.
We did not do lunch or dinner (Restoran Degenija, about 10-15 mins away was nice. We originally wanted to go to TC Marko but it was unexpectedly closed) but had a very satisfying breakfast which was included in the price of the stay.
This hotel is a 2 minute walk to entrance 2 (make sure you buy entry tickets for that entrance! Entrance 1 is at least 25 mins away by foot, 10 mins driving). You need to buy entry tickets on your own but the hotel can extend your ticket without charge beyond the first day.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Reception was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable although the bathroom was somewhat outdated with a ridiculously small bathtub.
Breakfast okayish apart from the coffee which was simply disgusting but do not, I repeat do NOT, book diner included.
Starters was either noodle soup, unfortunately not Aiki noodles which would have been a lot better, or a slice of ham and an undefined chuck of cheese.
As main course we had 'untender' pork with a honey and mushroom sauce but the chef must have forgotten the honey and the mushrooms were replaced by tiny bits of pees and carrots. Not completely terrible but also far from good.
Having said all of that, the package they offer with entrance to the park included during your stay (afternoon of arrival and the day after) is interesting but we would have gladly paid a bit more for a decent diner and coffee in the morning.

+1
The cleaning was not what it should be. The linen in bed had not been changed after the previous guests. We saw what looked like possibly feces/excrement on the bed sheets (see picture). Wonder how many people think they have slept in clean linen in this hotel, when the dirt is not that obviously visible, even though the linen haven’t been changed?
The cleaning lady also came in unannounced without knocking during breakfast time the day we were supposed to check out anyway. What exactly was she doing there at that time?
The hotel advertises that the room will have a view. It does, as promised. The hotel also advertises that the room will be on the lake side. It is, as promised. But you must not assume based on this, that this means that the view on the lake side would actually allow you to see the lake. Because there is no visibility to the lake from any of the room in the hotel. The room is on the lake side, but the view is to the park. So be careful not to assume anything.
The value for money is really bad with this hotel. 200 euros/night for dirty linen and no view of the lakes is just not worth it. Clean linen and a view to the lakes would definitely be worth 200e/night.
The room decoration is old and quite worn-out, but still adequate for what you might expect from a 3-star hotel in a country like Croatia. Breakfast was good. What is good about the hotel, is the excellent location right next to entrance 2 to Plitvice Lakes. Also the staff is very nice and helpful and we feel sorry for the lovely staff that despite their best efforts we couldn’t give a better review due to the cleanliness issues.

I have allergies to smoke. I went down to request a room further away from others to avoid smoke the front desk girl Martina was rude reluctantly said, “Well people have a right to smoke !” instead of being concerned about my health. Didn’t apologize for the inconvenience and was rude reluctantly handing me another room key. .The waiters are slow in the restaurant and no one smiles . They rudely place your food on the table And leave you without checking to see if you need anything else. I then waited 20 minutes for a glass of water one night after they placed my food. The worst customer service I have ever had. The bathroom drain smelled so bad we had to put a towel over it and then requested another room after it started to smell of smoke from the adjoining room. This is NOT a 250$ a night hotel. The only advantage is its location is right in the Park

The location of the Jezero Hotel is superb, just a few hundred meters from one of the entrances in the park. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the restaurant was surprisingly good. However the rooms are on the small side and they are not well kept (reminding me of foremer socialist Eastern European hotels that were left with things nor fixed). Our room did not have a refrigerator and the toilet water kept running (drip by drip in an annoying matter). Although the lobby looks nice and the restaurant is decent with a rather nice terrace, the rooms could do with an upgrade and better maintenance, especially for the price they charge. All in all the experience was good for the location because we came to visit the park and only stayed for one night.

For the price paid (we had a September deal that included half board and entry to the park) - we found the hotel to be excellent. We had a lake side room (note this means park view not lake view) which is worth a little extra as the other side is the car park. The staff were all really helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the dinner each evening - I don't eat meat and when the food options were meat - I had a whole grilled trout which was lovely. I don't think I would look anywhere else in the area. We also had the massage (20% discount) which was very lovely after 2 days of hiking

The location near the boat launch and bus train stop makes access to park trails very easy. We had a lakeside balcony room which made for wonderful star gazing and sunrises.
We also had a halfboard and park access package that made things easier. The buffet style food was very good.
There is also a wonderful huge whirlpool that we had to ourselves. It was so nice after hiking.
Finally, all the staff were friendly and competent.

Unfortunately Plitvice Lakes doesn’t have a great selection of hotels. If you can travel here for the day and then leave that would be best! The rooms here are very dated and smell damp, the bathroom shower was very high to climb into and splashed the entire bathroom. We didn’t have any towels upon arrival and had to call for some. The front desk staff were rude, when we asked about a shuttle to the bus stop we received attitude about the “700 meter walk”. While the walk isn’t necessarily fair, with suitcases and poor weather, the trek from the bus stop up stairs and across gravel to the hotel with no directional signage was challenging. We were lucky to find a lovely front desk worker the morning of check out who introduced us to the shuttle driver! Hurrah!
The restaurant had great food and service, looks very high quality, but all guests arrived in casual gear. Seemed very odd to have a ‘posh’ restaurant in a hiking area that guests aren’t prepared to dress for. We didn’t use the sauna after seeing the room, our expectations were low unfortunately.
