Combine Italian passion, with Balinese decor, all set on the Caribbean island of Grenada, where the locals have the biggest smile = Laluna. Set in a secluded bay, with only 16 cottages scattered on the hillside. Each with their own private veranda and plunge pool. Laluna oozes romance in an intimate setting with a Bohemian laid back vibe. Italian restaurant with Calabrian roots. Sunset Bar & Lounge on the beach with Daily happy hour and signature cocktails. Wellness Center with an Asian Spa with Balinese therapists and complimentary yoga at our yoga pavilion on the beach and Technogym gym. Sculpture garden in The Enchanted Forest = Art + Hospitality. Laluna is either your cup of coffee or it isn't, especially if you take your coffee with a shot of rum.

From arrival through to departure the team at Laluna couldn't do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms are just perfect. We did not want high end fixtures and fittings, favouring the Balinese simple but tasteful vibe, Laluna delivered exactly this. The plunge pool in each cottage is a lovely private place to get some quiet time.

The concierge service was very helpful albeit the experiences were a bit pricey so we found a local gentleman who was only too happy to show us around the island for quite a bit less money.

The restaurant served amazing food everyday. The menu is a bit limited so you will want to eat out as well but there are plenty of places on the islands to choose from.

Finally, the beach was beautiful, quiet and very clean with coral reefs just a few meters from the shore making for excellence snorkelling. Complimentary daily yoga was a very nice touch.

Thank you Laluna Team for making our Honeymoon very special. We highly recommend Laluna and will definitely return one day.

We had an exceptional stay here. Our cottage was fantastic with its own little dip pool, deck and view. The property offers beachfront swimming, an art studio, a spa, and a swimming pool with adjacent bar and covered sitting area. The grounds are extensive and are decorated with whimsical artwork and shaded paths to stroll. The restaurant was consistently excellent for all meals (however we only had breakfasts and dinners). While we love Grenada and often get out to explore the island, this property offers anything you could possibly want for a reclusive, restful getaway. But what impressed us the most was the manner in which all of the staff consistently went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. To a person, they all seemed genuinely motivated to make our stay a great experience. And it was. We will certainly return and recommend LaLuna to friends and family.

Beautiful setting, a bit remote (not really, just seems that way) but that is why it is so quiet and peaceful. Staff were great especially Shania at front desk, Dwayne and Jeanette, our maid for most of the week. Rooms in duplex are spacious and very nice as advertised, A/C at night was comfortable, private with great view of the sunsets. We were up on the hill so had to walk down to the calm beach, no big deal, decent snorkeling in warm ocean and plenty of water toys to use.
We rented a car to see more of the island and that was well worth it - live music at Aquarium restaurant on Sundays and at the Dodgy Dock on Wednesdays, many good local restaurants at Grand Anse beach less than 2 miles away with reasonably priced food options. Local IGA store and good snorkeling/diving with Neal, lovely wife and crew at Dive Grenada. We would return - delightful place!

When you are treating yourself to a lovely holiday and what appears to be a "luxury" resort that is exactly what you'd expect...well not here!
Yes the moto is "laluna is not for everyone" but when you are paying so much for a night you'd expect some sort of luxury.
Firstly check in was a joke...no one to explain anything or carry bags to your room, eventually I had to step in and do it myself!
I was in the cottage suite which is on the highest floor in my opinion this is the best location although the rooms are "cheaper" and bit of a climb the views are worth it.
The room itself was dark and dingy and so basic only positive for the actual room was a comfy bed. The bathroom is open air which doesn't bother me but they have no amenities like shower cap, vanity kits body lotion stuff you'd expect from this kind of place. I had to ask for toiletries. No slippers or anything. What a joke. They have decent complimentary coffee and don't expect them to replinsh anything.
I found this the theme it was hard work getting anything from them everything took its time. I asked for a bowl one morning and after two hours nothing so I called them...and housekeeping said to me "I thought it'd bring it when I came to clean your room saves me climbing the stairs" unbelievable! Room was cleaned to a decent standard.
Most staff at this place cannot be bothered and it seems if you don't tip them they don't bother giving you any kind of decent service..I'm from England and we only tip for good service they already add service to everything. The only people I thought were decent at the resort was kisha?! I think her name was but she was always smiling and made the best cocktails making sure you were happy. Trina at front desk was a gem. lyndon was also nice. All the others I found hard work and God forbid you had a request. They clearly don't care about customer service or satisfaction.
The food here is decent (I've done a separate review for this).I'm a foodie and thought this place did have some amazing Italian food. You're in the middle of nowhere so getting a taxi and back was more expensive than to eat here. Luckily food was good.
The gym is so basic and had no A/C while I was there so couldn't even escape there.
Overall I definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you want to get pampered and be in luxury. Yes it has a stunning location but that's about it. Basic rooms, below average service and extortionate prices. I couldn't wait to check out.

Dear Guest we are not a luxury hotel, and we never advertise to be a luxury hotel . Actually, our motto is " the absence of luxury, is a luxury in its self". I have a feeling you booked the wrong place for your vacation, and I understand your disappointment. We do carry the luggage to the rooms all the time for every guest. But maybe you were in a hurry to get into your room, and could not wait for our staff to do it for you. Thank you for compliment our comfy bed, our cottages are very colourful and spacious with mood lighting, sorry you thought it was dingy. In our cottages we offer complimentary bath products made in Italy especially for us, which includes shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, after-sun cream. Thank you for kind words on our complimentary in-room coffee, we do replenish the coffee jar everyday. We also offer complimentary tea, milk and chocolate bar to our guests. Thank you for the kind words on our food. If guests feel that they need to get off property, we are located only 5 mins by taxi to the tourist area of Grand Anse hotels and restaurants. The gym has 2 air conditioners, on opposite sides of the wall. Overall I believe that you chose the wrong place for your vacation.

Fantastic location right on top of Portici bay beach with very few if any people on it other than resort guests. The views from your hut are stunning but some huts may have restricted views The bed mattress is firm with just the right amount of give which should suite most people . Reception staff are great and will help you book trips that they do not readily offer.

Wifi is good around the resort even on the beach. The yoga sessions (most mornings) are great way to start your day and well worth attending or use the gym which has modern equipment.

Despite a maximum of 32 guests there is a lack of sun loungers. I counted 26 in total but not all of them are physically on the beach.

The dinner menu does not change but normally there are a couple of specials each night but if you stay a week becomes very limiting. Service can be a bit hit or miss on the length of time it takes to serve you depending who is on duty. Drinks are expensive compared with a very similar resort we stayed in last week in St Lucia and other establishments we visited during our stay. Also their web site has yet to be updated giving you a false impression of costs. Well worth going for the inclusive breakfast and dinner (food only) option but look very carefully at what’s included for the fully inclusive deal as you may find it will not cost in for you and you may decide to eat else where.

If you like breakfast tea in your room you may be disappointed if you are going in the next month or so as they have run out and won’t purchase any more until their other flavours are used up. Strangely you could still get a breakfast tea in the dining hut.

The other quirk is when you have coffee in the morning at breakfast in a mug they never bring a spoon to stir the milk in unless you ask.

Staff are friendly but a bit more of a smile would not go amiss along with name badges. We did have an issue with noise from next door, but this was swiftly sorted out by the staff. For a four star resort service should be better.

If you want to eat out you will need to use a taxi.

Overhaul the experience has been good but patchy as highlighted above but their biggest issues are quality of service and drinks are overpriced even for a four star resort. Hence I can only give a two star rating.

This is not your normal resort but we loved it! We went for our honeymoon, it was perfect! La luna is a very unique resort, fairly small so you feel like you have the place to yourselves! We had a cottage at the top, farthest away from the ocean and the views were amazing. Only downfall is the stairs to get to the the bar/restaurant/ocean ... but it was good leg workout each day! LOL
FYI, the only A/C in the cottage is where the bed is. The bathroom is private but outdoors, it took a little while to get use to this as it was very hot!
The stay comes with daily waters during turn down which was a nice touch.
The ocean water is as pictured and as beautiful. The sunsets are AMAZING each night.
There is only 1 restaurant on site but it is delicious food, good variety. Breakfast omelets were a personal favorite. Restaurant is open concept; outdoors, no a/c.
For honeymoon go-ers, I would skip the candle lit dinner, it is the same menu only difference is you are at a table 2 feet away with some candles and fake flowers. Nothing special in our opinion.
Massages were great!
All staff was very friendly. Highly recommend !

Over all the experience was lovely. We stayed in the beachfront cottage which was a short (and level) walk from reception, where as all the other rooms are up the hill.

The open room was spacious and nice, perfect views while also extending privacy during day and night hours. Even sitting on the open porch/deck you cannot really hear or see anything other than the open ocean in front of you.

If you feel comfortably to drive, I recommend getting a rental as LaLuna offers free parking (many resorts do not) and taxi trips add up after time.

Speaking of cost, keep in mind everything is a-la-carte and relatively expensive compared to other resorts or even options locally. For reference, a traditional rum and coke was ~$14 USD (short tumbler glass) but we found out happy hour is 5-7pm. Recommend you bring your own alcohol, water, juices for the room. The meals were very good all around and compliments to the cooks and wait staff, very friendly.

The facility as a whole was very nice, and perfect location for what we we looking for. It could use a fresh update on some esthetics with paint and trim work. But you could really tell the service crew cared and took pride in their work. Every morning their grounds team was out cleaning the beach.

All and all it was a nice place and extremely private with a very nice staff and food.

Upon arrival you know that you are in a friendly and relaxing environment. The staff truly go out of their way to ensure you are cared for. The setting is lovely, the beach private, the Monkey Bar fun, the cottages are spacious and airconditioned, and the bathrooms bring the outside in...you'll know what I mean when you visit...it is a fantastic set up. We did a couples massage and the two Balinese ladies did a superb job. The restaurant staff are extremely accommodating and I suggest you try the seafood salad. If I were to share one caution it would be stairs.....the resort is a cascading set of cottages, some single, some double (you have a next door neighbor) and all require some climbing of steps to reach your room. The views are worth it, but just know that going to the beach, or the pool, or the pool bar, or the yoga pavilion or the Balinese Spa, or the Monkey Bar, or the restaurant, means you walk down steps, and then up steps to go back to your room. Again, the place is worth it.

We spent two weeks all inclusive here in one of their delux cottages. The room as is they describe in the Balinese style and we found it clean and really comfortable with great views over the bay.

All the staff very friendly and created a very relaxing atmosphere and service was always great.

Highly recommend this as a place to visit and/or stay when visiting the island.

And I’d recommend the spa treatments. We and other guests never had a complaint.

My husband and I just spent a week at LaLuna and it was absolutely wonderful! We loved the chill vibe, the Balinese decor, the solitude of the location. The beach is stunning. Lots of options for lounging on the beach - near the bar, on beach loungers in the sand, under pavillion near the yoga place. We snorkeled and floated in the warm calm water. We ate breakfast at the restaurant every day and several nights for dinner - it was excellent every time and the ambiance in the outdoor setting is so relaxing. We can't say enough about this place. We rented a car but hardly used it because the hotel setting was so relaxing and had everything we needed, we didn't really want to leave even to explore the rest of the island! Highly recommend.
