We stayed for 3 nights in the B&B (feb 1 - feb 4). The room had privacy, you're own frontdoor and seats. It was very clean and well maintained. Barb en Fraser were very nice and made us much welcome. Laundry was taken care for, a drink on arrival, and great tips for restaurants, beaches, and other sightseeing things. We enjoyed our breakfast: eggs, toast, jelly, juice, coffee and fresh fruit. Jummie! And we will miss our nice conversations with Barb and Fraser! It was a pleasure off meeting them! Bye from the Netherlands.

We were so fortunate to find Barbara and Fraser’s paradise. Truly incredible with so much attention to detail. Beautiful private rooms with gorgeous furnishings and linens. The grounds are incredible with spectacular views. Fabulous outdoor furniture and a fireplace as well as a spa. Barbara and Fraser are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable in local and country culture. As well, they provide an outstanding breakfast with Barb’s world famous scrambled eggs plus bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh fruit and on and on and on.
You will be so impressed but disappointed if you only booked for one night. This is the nicest B&B you will ever find.

Thank you so much Deb for your wonderful review. We wish you could have stayed longer too! My scrambled eggs sure are popular and I suppose with all the people from different countries who have had them, they could be considered world famous:). We hope the rest of your time here in NZ is great and wish you all the best.

We began our trip at the lovely Redvale Ridge B & B and what we found surpassed our expectations! The hosts Barb and Fraser were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home straight away. The views over Mapua, Rabbit Island and beyond were stunning and could be enjoyed from the spa or any of the rooms in the lovely sustainably built home. A lot of time and effort has gone into the garden and art structures to create a peaceful and beautiful setting. Barb went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and she cooked a delicious cooked breakfast for us. We especially enjoyed getting to know Za the Russian Blue AristoCat. Would definitely recommend this place if you are wanting the personal touch and something unique. We hope to visit again - Ngā Mihi

Thank you for taking the time to review, it is very much appreciated. It is lovely to have people feel welcome and comfortable in our home and love our amazing views as we do. As we have predominantly had international guests over the last six years and that is not something that is in the foreseeable future, we really love Kiwis coming to stay. Staying at B&Bs is not something a lot of Kiwis do but as you said, "now you have, you will do so again." We are proud to be members of the Bed and Breakfast Association of New Zealand and being assessed for quality. We would love to have you stay with us again as we are sure you felt, you came as guests and left as friends.

We happened to travel by the Abel Tasman park over the Christmas holiday’s and booked the Redvale b&b. We ware very happy with our choice, the hosts Barb and Fraser did all possible to make our Christmas away from home one not to forget! We ware invited to join the family kiwi Christmas bbq and had a wonderful time.

The room had a good bed, was spacious and very clean.

Great B&B, one of the best we have ever experienced worldwide. A wonderful view from the room. The host, Barb (a most engaging and informative lady) provides for a very good breakfast, many ingredients of which come from her own garden. The house and most things in it are eco-friendly.

We had a great three days at the B&B. We were welcomed with a special gift as it was our honeymoon which was a nice touch and we really appreciated it.

Before we even got there we had a few email exchanges with Barb and Fraser where they provided us tips and advice of what to do in the region and they even made a dinner reservation for the evening of our arrival in the local town - Mapua.

The accommodation is great, clean and has all the amenities you will need, they even have complimentary laundry which was extremelly helpful after three weeks of travelling!! Breakfast was delicious and home made!!

The views are amazing, you can see as far as the Tasman sea and enjoy beautiful sunsets. If you’re lucky as we were you can enjoy a sky full of stars when its dark.

The hosts were both welcoming and charming. We enjoyed our chats with them as well as our game of Petanque. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Additionally, there are lots of wineries in the area to visit, the town of Mapua is worth a visit and it’s also really close to Rabbit Island beach and Kaiteriteri / Tasman Abel National Park.

Thank you for your thoughtful review, we really appreciate it. Hosting is fun and rewarding when we have just lovely guests. We enjoyed our game of Petanque too. We always love chatting to our guests, telling them about our area, the south island and New Zealand as a whole. Finding out about our guests, their lives and families is always a highlight of what we do. We think we live in the best part of New Zealand and are happy you loved it here. We would love to host you again.

We arrived at 9 pm and had pre-ordered the platter, which was really delicious, after our long drive.

Barbara and Fraser are very gracious guests and gave us countless recommendations for leisure activities and restaurants. We tried out several and we were never disappointed.

They have built a beautiful eco friendly house and our room had all comforts and a wonderful bathroom. Everything is tastefully decorated and the highest standard as regards furniture, appliances and cleanliness. There were also lovely personal touches such as fresh flowers in the room and home made cake. A complimentary washing machine load was also included, which was a life saver after five weeks travelling. Breakfast was also excellent.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly, and fell in love with Barbara’s Russian Blue kitten. If we are ever in this area again we will definitely stay here.

How does it get high scores???
A very average B&B at a high price.
Nothing to warrant high price, miles from anywhere.
Not value for money.
Not good facilities - No shampoo, shower gel, etc as ‘eco house’ so only eco soap (which doesn’t clean).
Do not recommend!!
Get a hotel for less money.

Genial host Fraser is only plus point.

Nicholas, as members of the New Zealand Bed and Breakfast Association we are assessed for quality. We were assessed in October this year and passed with no negatives. As members of the Association we have to provide body wash and hand wash and you know they were in your beautiful ensuite so why you would say otherwise is a mystery to us. It was explained to you that we don't provide the 'little' plastic bottles of shampoo and conditioner as we try to avoid the unnecessary use of plastic. You were told that if you required shampoo and conditioner, you would be provided with it. In the three seasons we have been operating we have only had one person ask for shampoo as most people, like us, travel with their own. As the hand wash and body wash are the same as we use, I can assure you that they do clean. We are not an 'eco' house, we are a home with eco features, which people love and comment on all the time. Again, you are wrong when you say we are miles from anywhere. We are 10 minutes from some wonderful restaurants and wineries and 15 minutes from a large town. As you booked here, it is hard to understand that you didn't know what and where you were booking. If you had gone onto our website and looked at Google maps, you would have known exactly where we were. It does not make any sense to us that a person would book somewhere and then complain about where it is. People love staying here because of the quiet, comfort, cleanliness and amazing views, none of which you mentioned. Also, you didn't mention the home baking, flowers in your room, cooked to order breakfast and so on. Your wife commented at breakfast how she loved the home made marmalade but you didn't mention that either. As for value, we are similarly priced to other B&Bs in the area and offer a lot for the price. For example, we offer one load of free washing, which we wash, dry, fold and put back in the room! Everything we offered you, you did not want and that is your 'choice'. We have never seen a B&B get a 1 on TripAdvisor as when people go to a B&B they are going into people's homes and want to interact with them - you did not! You also did not mention, at anytime while you were here, that you were not happy about something. That would have been the time to do it! I was out of the country when you checked out but my husband said, that you said, you had enjoyed your stay. Then came your unfair and very untruthful review. We have had wonderful guests since your stay who have loved it here and we are sure that people will see that your review says more about the person you are than it does about us.
