Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park is a year-round naturist park near Toronto in Canada where the entire family can experience traditional naturist values in a modern setting. We are nestled among the natural wilderness of the Ontario Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine. Our varied landscape includes open spaces, forests, ponds, streams and a small lake. We also have many recreational facilities. Our clubhouse provides year-round amenities including saunas and a whirlpool. Bare Oaks offers day-use memberships and seasonal campsites but also welcomes visitors and travellers. Some might use the terms nudist and nudism to describe us and what we do. But we prefer naturist and naturism because our creed is so much more than just taking your clothes off. It is a life philosophy with physical, psychological, environmental, social and moral benefits. We go beyond a mere recreational pursuit and promote ethical naturism. We endeavour to live a naturist life and nudity is key to body acceptance and an integral part of our naturist philosophy. As such, we are not clothing-optional. Clothing is worn only for protection. We give visitors a chance to adjust but everyone is expected make a decision as to whether they want to be naturists or not.Located between Toronto and the gateway to Ontario's cottage country, it is the perfect location to stay while visiting Toronto. A short drive south on Highway #404 gets you into Toronto in about 30 minutes.

As a relative newby to visiting Naturist resorts I very much appreciated the welcoming environment at Bare Oaks. This is my second visit. This year the first folks I met were on my arrival at my site. A couple of the permanents saw me arrive and quickly gave some recommendations on approach to my lot and helped me move the rather heavy picnic table to make room for my rig.

The camp sites are not glamourous but they suit the location. I am travelling in a 36 foot motorhome and was able to get one of their 50amp sites. Mine was right beside the showers, which normally I would not want but here being by the showers was almost a social event. Everyone waved and said hello. The sites have power and water but no sewer. There is a honey wagon if you need... But with outdoor showers and washrooms it is easy to stretch your grey and black capacity. There is even a kitchen sink by the washrooms if you want to spare the water in your rig. The dump station is on the main road as you depart.

From a naturist perspective it is easy to enjoy your entire stay in the nude, weather permitting. I was here for three days and wont be doing any laundry when I get home. Both the pool and the pond were comfortable temperatures for swimming and I spent plenty of time in both. If you are going to use the pond, bring a floaty, that is where things are most social. There was a nature trail, but the bugs were still omnipresent in July so I decided to wait until my next visit to explore those. The hot tub and saunas are closed due to COVID so I cannot comment on them. There were at least two locations for Ladder Ball and two volleyball nets. The mini putt course was under repair while I was there but looked like it could be a fun distraction.

I was travelling as a single male, which I know for many is challenging at naturist resorts. I was always made to feel welcome at Bare Oaks and very much appreciate the efforts of the seasonals to say hello and make my visit a success.

I have a second visit booked for 7 days and look forward to seeing the location over a busy weekend and sharing this resort with my bride.

Thank you so much for providing such a detailed review; others will appreciate it. And thank you for the top rating! Some of our campsites are indeed rather tight because they are from a time when most people had a tent or small trailer. Interestingly enough, some people prefer the ones in the centre which are the most crowded because they like the conviviality and sense of community. But we do realize that there is an enormous demand for campsites that we cannot meet. So we are working towards expanding in the future and those new sites will be more modern in design.

We spent 3 days renting the cosy cabin , The cabin was aptly named , small but clean and well laid out with a BBq for privet use.
The park itself was really clean and the staff and long term guests were welcoming and friendly.
This was the perfect place to introduce by adult daughter to my naturist side.
We had an amazing time and will be booking another trip !

I was a nudist newbie in 2019 when I discovered Bare Oaks (BO) in the Camping Ontario magazine. We camped a few times and fell In love with the park and Sutton area.

In 2020, I bought a membership and I spent every day off and all my vacation time at Bare Oaks. I found peace and solace in the park. Naked running, biking, walking and exercising in nature is a phenomenal experience. The best part is the human experience. I found myself connecting with people on a honest level and real conversations at the social breakfasts, campfires, volleyball games, swimming, dog walks, potlucks etc. This is not just a naturalists park. It invites an individual to an experience like no other. It's about body positivity and feeling good in your own skin.

The staff is welcoming, social and hard working. The park managers are competent, always visible and available to handle any situations or medical emergencies.

This is not a clothing optional resort. The owners also resides here and they will tell you "clothing is contagious" so be prepared to bare all. (Clothing can be worn for protection and warmth). There are several different accommodations to suit everyone. It's here and yours to discover an experience of a lifetime.

We just returned from our first overnight cabin visit to Bare Oaks. The staff were excellent and the camp members were very friendly. We used the hot tub and attempted the pool, but it was too cold (it is solar heated). We rented a cozy cabin, and were surprised when we did not have our own bathroom (we obviously need to do more research next time). We also thought we had a tv and our own fire pit (it is shared with the other cabins). The cost of the cabin starts at $99.00 but then they add on grounds fees???, housekeeping fees???. The dishes, utensils etc. are your responsibility to clean for the next person, they give you dish soap and a basin. There is no sink in the cabin so you have to use the hose outside. There is a unisex bathroom and shower nearby and trails to walk. The property is nice and well maintained. We had a good time, and may one day return.

We are glad that you enjoyed yourself! Our prices, including grounds frees, are competitive with other similar offerings in the Toronto area. For people with a membership, they do not have to pay any daily grounds fees which makes the cabins an incredible deal! We add a housekeeping fee which was instead of increasing fees (which have not increased in about a decade) or requiring a minimum stay. This way people who stay longer only pay the fee once.

Well where do I begin!? I must say that my stay was an amazing experience. I stayed for two days and one night (rustic camping). As a newcomer to naturism and specifically this naturist park, I was very thankful for how accepting the staff and the community were to welcome me and make me feel at home. I was very nervous about coming for my first time as I was going on my own but I soon found that anxiety disappeared and I was able to socialize and make tones of new friends!

I attended during the volleyball tournament and Canada day, it was a blast! I feel like there was lots to do from swimming in the beautiful lake to sunbathing while watching the games.

I must say I will be coming back again and I hope that people who are anxious about trying naturism take some reassurance that as long as your intentions are good and inline with naturist values that you will have no problems and you will fit right in.

Away from it all just north of Toronto is the naturist oasis of Bare Oaks Resort. A unique resort being not clothing optional but all nude weather permitting. We stayed for the Canada Day holiday weekend. Many were there for the Toronto area naturists volleyball tournament taking place over the many grass courts and sand court. We stayed in one of the four motel rooms in the main building connected to the lobby and restaurant. The full service restaurant was good and convenient, though a bit costly. The small hot tub is in a separate secluded room and the unheated pool in the back is average sized. There’s plenty of land to roam and explore the grass areas, pond with fountain and even a 9 hole mini golf course. Open mike Friday night and comedy night were entertaining and so much fun. Our weekend at Bare Oaks was really enjoyable and we are planning a return visit.

Well I used to live in Sharon and only after moving out of province did I discover there was a nudist park nearby! I had to investigate for myself and this summer stayed a few days to experience it fully and am kicking myself harder now for never knowing about Bare Oaks!

Unfortunately I arrived to cooler-than-normal weather and a very quiet campground but still jumped out of my clothes as soon as I claimed the comfy clubhouse room I'd booked and headed outside to experience the freedom. As a lowly single guy I mostly kept to myself but there was still the lake, pool, bistro, clubhouse to take advantage of and I am just sorry I missed the volleyball tournament that happened the weekend before my short stay. I've only ever been to beaches and all that space to go clothes free in nature was an amazing feeling, I wish I still lived nearby as I'd be a regular.

The staff was professional and the facilities were lived-in and comfortable, not as faceless and impersonal as I might've expected. My flight was canceled for the scheduled arrival day so Bare Oaks was also kind enough to extend store credit for the missed time. The only complaint I have is that the hot tub was out-of-order!

All in all It was too short a stay but I hope to return to use up the rest of that discount and see what a busier time of year is like. This is definitely the place to go if you're at all interested in Naturism and the lifestyle.

I visited Bare Oaks for the first time staying three nights in a Queen room. It was a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful answering any questions I had. The facilities were very clean and everything worked out great. Great food in the bistro as well. It is not clothing optional so it was a true, wholesome naturist experience as opposed to a hybrid of clothed and unclothed people which some clothing optional resorts provide which can become awkward. The naturism didn’t take long to get used to and after awhile it becomes secondary and dissolves into the background.

Other guests were very easy to talk to and I met some very friendly, interesting people. Social interaction is so much easier free of clothes. Bare Oaks is a very welcoming family naturist resort and besides being a very enjoyable experience, it does wonders in boosting one’s mental health. Their motto is Free your Body, Free your Mind and I can certainly attest to the physical and mental benefits. I would return in a heart beat.

While on a business trip to Toronto last week I stayed, for three days, at the Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park. My review will focus on the indoor facilities at the park since it is the close of the outdoor season in Canada (at least for those of us from the southern US). Regarding the title of the review, stay with me on the incongruous juxtaposition (OK, I admit I had to look that expression up) of words.

The staff at Bare Oaks were exceptionally polite, helpful and professional. They got me checked into a lovely queen-sized room on the lower level. The resort is up to date on technology with wrist band room keys (that also control the entrance gate), and excellent Wi-Fi.

As I mentioned, the weather was getting cold and there were not many people staying at the resort. As a result, I was amazed to find I had virtually the whole lower level to myself. That included a small fitness center, kitchen, TV/club room, pool table and fireplace.

On the main floor there are two excellent saunas, showers and a restaurant (also with a fireplace). The pool was open, but a bit too cold for swimming. There is also a hot tub, but during my stay it was closed for repairs.

What a great business trip. Why? OK, after my business activities, I came back to the resort and had private use of the gym (not much fancy equipment there, but a rack of dumbbells is all I ever need anyway). After the gym I then went for 30 minutes in the sauna (there is a dry sauna and a wet sauna). That was followed by a meal that I prepared in the kitchen. I pulled a chair and table close to the fireplace in the club room and enjoyed dinner while reading a book (I had downloaded a long time ago and never got a chance to read).

I have described the facilities, but what about the people. As is usual for a naturist resort it was very easy to strike up a conversation with the few other people who were at the park. There is something about naturism that creates a sociable atmosphere and common bond.

So, what is my overall review of Bare Oaks? It was a fabulous place to stay during a short business trip to Toronto. Based on my limited experience I really would like to come back during the summer season to experience the outdoor part of this park. I can imagine that the lake, pool, hot tub and restaurant would make for an excellent vacation.

The owner of this resort is a well-known statesman in the naturist community. I was thrilled to see that the naturist philosophy permeates this resort both in the demeanor of the staff/guests and of course the dress code.

Oh, not to forget, back to the strange title of this soliloquy. The book I was reading at Bare Oaks is titled “Hamlet’s Blackberry” by William Powers. It is a guide to dealing with the incessant barrage of the digital world into our lives. It was written in 2011, but I think it is even more relevant than ever today.
The author gives practical advice on how to disconnect from the craziness and get some solitude. I found it ironic that there I was reading this book virtually in my own private naturist resort.

This is exactly how a Naturist site should be!

When you arrive onsite you instantly know this is a naturist site. All the staff are naked, from the receptionist to managers to maintenance. The staff and other guest are welcoming and made me feel safe.

The lake is a decent size to have a swim or you can just stick to the pool.

The food at the restaurant is tasty and fairly priced.

Washing facilities are clean and plentiful.

There is even a washing machine.

100% recommend trying this site. I'll be coming back to Canada next year and making a trip to Bare Oaks.

Thanks for asking! We have a wide variety of accommodation types and rates that vary based on your situation. For example, if you have a Bare Oaks membership, you do not need to pay the day fees. If you are a member of a naturist organization, you qualify for discounts in some cases. And if you stay more than two nights, you qualify for further discounts. You can pay as little as $45.50/night for a room or as much as $220/night for a cabin (plus taxes) All of our rates are listed on the website.
