Dark, dusty floored veranda style ( open to the elements) reception/ dining room/bar with dusty plastic garden chairs at dining tables Friendly staff. Fluent English speaking friendly waitress. Delicious vegetable soup but bland unappertising tomato sauce on good sized pasta meal. Bedroom is a wooden cabin. Clean comfy bed. Clean bathroom including toilet , wash basin & shower tray. Shower head grubby but not filthy. Reception/dining room/ bar needs a deep clean & then constant cleaning to keep on top of dust that settles on floor & chairs.

After a hard day hiking in the Colca Canyon with high temperatures, we stopped for the night at Oasis Paraiso Eco Lodge. We were welcomed by the famous Pedro who made us feel at home directly. This stop was perfect as we could rest the whole afternoon at the swimming pool, enjoy local food well prepared but most importantly we enjoyed an incredible party until late in the night with Pedro. Thanks for all, we’ll come back for sure.

This place would have enormous potential but looks like the project was abandoned mid way. The lodge is dirty, the shared bathroom looks like it has not been cleaned in the last 2 years, pathways leading to the rooms are half finished. The sheets in our bed were dirty, the room was filty. We have been traveling south America for 2.5 month and this was by far the dirtiest place we have seen. Also the staff was not friendly at all which did not help. The food and the pool were good.

WARNING! this place in Oasis San Galle is absolutely unreliable! We booked a triple for 3 people through whatsapp and I wrote several times to make sure the booking was confirmed up to a few hours before arrival, always receiving positive confirmation. Unfortunately when we arrived after 6 hours of very hard trekking, they inform us that they gave our room to a larger group of people because obviously it was more convenient for them... and that having no more places available we would have to look for another place on our own. ... SHAMEFUL! In Sangalle there are about 4 lodges and at the end we have seen them all ... this lodge honestly is the worst in terms of comfort. For the same price or even less, you get much better! If you are traveling with a tour, make sure with your agency that you are not staying at this lodge.

This is a rustic but comfortable lodge at the bottom of Colca Canyon. We had everything we needed for an overnight stay in the canyon. Meals were simple but adequate. The owner was always available and helpful. They seemed to operate in an environmentally friendly way. We spent one night here after hiking down from Cabanaconde and returned to the top the next morning. The easiest and quickest way to get to Cabanaconde from Arequipa is by taxi. We hired Guillermo Farfán in Arequipa at 988858855 or guillermo.farfan76@gmail.com. He is very friendly and helpful and speaks very good english.

This is truly an Oasis. Great place to arrive after the trek. Beautiful grounds with a nice swimming pool to relax in the sun. Rooms are good and spacious, with a great bathroom. Food was also good. Staff was very friendly.

This is a place for backpackers who want to stay in the lodge during their trekking through the Colca canyon from or to Cabanaconde. It is located in the beautiful oasis of green surrounded by dry mountains. However, the service is too basic even for a humble price. The hosts who are more or less friendly pay not much attention to the guests. A food is as basic as it is possible. Toilets are dirty and often lack the toilet paper. Internet should be paid, which is crazy even in this wild canyon. A pleasant detail is a pool with naturally warm water.

Right - I have no idea what the benchmark is for the Oasis and as no-one does Colca more than once, neither does anyone else! We were mildly pleasantly surprised here. The pool was nice, the beds were firm, it wasn't too noisy. The Wifi is surprisingly good but there are no electric power points to recharge phones in the rooms - you have to go to the bar. The food? Well a lot of the stuff comes down by mule so you get what you get. Another thing - everywhere eats at one sitting at 19:30. This isn't great because you need to wake up the next day at dawn to do the up leg before it gets hot. We ate what we had in our rucksacks and went to sleep early. Lunch was OK - edible but nothing special.. Breakfast was basic. There is no hot water and the shower is essentially a pipe in the wall: this is backpacker territory but it's not bad. Virtually everyone apart from me seemed to be under 30 btw. This was particularly noticeable to this 57 year-old while doing the 1100m of ascent the next day... We had a look around the other places - there are 5 apparently - they looked pretty similar, but this was the only one we could work out how to book 😊 A few words about Colca. It's warm at the bottom - don't be fooled by the temperature in Cabanaconde and don't take warm clothes like I did! We met some Australians who were attempting to do both legs of the trip in a day - unless you start very early and are super fit, I'd be wary of assuming you can do this, especially as the up leg will be in the heat of the day. Do go the extra 100m down to the canyon itself, it's lovely.

We stayed here on the second night of our trek in Colca Canyon. After reading the guide books etc, I was not expecting much. What a pleasant surprise - we had a recently remodeled bungalow with a private bath. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and fully appointed. Keep in mind that this location is only accessible by foot, it is an oasis of green in a sparsely vegetated canyon. I was really surprised by the quality of the room. The main "lobby" reception/dining area is well appointed with couches and lounge chairs. The pool is nice with both shaded and sunny seating areas with lounge chairs. It was a little cool to swim but my girlfriend did brave the waters. The host is friendly helpful and welcoming. The food is good by guesthouse standards and the bar serves excellent adult beverages. The included breakfast was the best of our many guest house stays over three weeks in Peru. My rating is based the location of this facility - it's not a 4 or 5 star hotel but a guest house in the middle of an arid canyon only accessible by foot.

You typically arrive at the lodge after a day of heavy trekking down and across the canyon. There is a restaurant and a pool (too cold to swim in when we were there). Food is basic. You will stay in straw/ adobe huts in disrepair with no electricity. There is electricity in the restaurant, as evidenced by the loud music playing late into the night. Service is poor. Perhaps the best thing that can be said about the place is that they can arrange for mules to take you up the canyon if you do not want to undertake the very exhausting and quite dangerous 3-4 hour near vertical climb up the canyon wall.
