Detailed Reviews
We came across Puriri Bay after trawling through the many options on the island , beware that both the island agents and i Site tourism offices do not necessarily review or vet the accommodation they sell and you could end up paying up to €200 dollars for very poor accommodation indeed . Please heed this warning , we had a rotten experience which I wouldnt want anyone to fall into , check , check and double check or save yourself any worries whatsoever and stay here with Steve and Lyn. Complimentary breakfast supplies are outwith the norm and the lodge itself is furnished with cosy beds , fluffy bathrobes , big TV for wet days and a great kitchen , though no oven but thats not a hardship , as everything else is impeccable. Steves hospitality is splendid , always calling in to see if all okay when he passes. if you want to fish then look no further , he will point you in every possible right direction and it's all on your doortsep at the lodge which is smack in the middle of bush and yards from the sea. I don't have time to upload my photos as we are travelling NZ at the moment but wanted to get the place on the Trip Advisor map , its so good and deserves every possible praise. Praise that could also be heaped on Wild Rose Cafe who try so hard at producing home cooked snacks and great coffee , a far cry from Claris Texas Cafe across the hill , heed that warning too !
