We needed a little family break away after having a bad few months. We booked Paraiso Jardim as it looked stunning and peaceful, in a nice quiet place, yet close enough to busier places in the Algarve without being in the 'thick of it'.
We werent disappointed !!
From the start, the communication from Kathy was fantastic. Really helpful, really lovely.
It's a really quaint, pretty little setting. Beautiful plants and garden area surrounding all the little apartments. Everything is beautifully maintained and cared for. Its truly a loved property.
The pool is incredible. My two children were asking to get in it from the second we arrived and didnt want to get out once they were in. We had it all to ourselves during the day.
We stayed in the Wisteria apartment with our two little dogs and it was perfect as it had a little courtyard where they had their own outdoor space. Perfect for a morning pot of tea as the sun was rising. The children even said they wanted to move in to the apartment and loved their colourful room.
We went there during the Covid pandemic and Kathy had done an amazing job making sure everything was clean and sanitized, and safe. There really were no concerns at all.
I genuinly cant find fault, it was everything we had hoped for and we would love to come back and definitely recommend it.
Its positioning was PERFECT. Away from anywhere busy yet only 5 - 10 minutes away from the nearest beautiful beach and cafes and only 10-15 mins from the centre of Lagos.
Thank you Kathy, we had an amazing little 4 night stay.

It is a very strange time to travel and Kathy kept in communication with us to ensure our plans were going well and on track during the build up to our holiday.
We did have a little trouble finding our way there as the roundabout that the access road is off is a little confusing and a van was blocking our view but if you follow the directions from google it’s pretty clear.
The grounds are beautiful, the gardens, the pond and the pool are well maintained.
Our apartment was so much more than we expected it was huge!! Great sized bedrooms, two recreational areas, a huge bathroom with plenty of towels and a fully stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed and Kathy made sure we knew that she could arrange anything else we needed.
We had 3 of our 4 kids with us. Aged 17, 15 and 7. My 17 year old hates being hot but we had a separate outdoor dining area with a dart board and games where he could hang out and feel cool (he’d originally gone to surf but due to the circumstances we couldn’t but he still wanted a holiday). The TV in the living room had Netflix so my 7 year old was happy while it was hot or when she needed a chill or when we were playing grown up games. So the apartment was a perfect size for us to spend the week comfortably avoiding each other when we needed too!!
The pool area was a few steps from our apartment door, loads of sun loungers and so beautifully presented. Shaded areas and parasols. Everything you need. We spent most of our holiday around the pool during the day as it was so hot and we really had everything we needed.
At night we made use of the bbq area a few times which was again stocked with everything you could need to prepare meals for small or large groups.
The apartments are located a few minutes drive from Luz, where we spent an evening exploring and dining out and around a 15 minute drive into Lagos where there was plenty of choice for restaurants and ice cream shops!
Kathy brilliantly compiled an amazing itinerary for us so we could make the most of the hire car and see as much of the Algarve as we could (when carting two teenagers and a hot child around against their will) pointing out some great beaches and sights to see.
There are a few supermarkets within driving distance and a little shop in walking distance. There is a restaurant to walk to and a couple of bars for the nights you don’t want to cook or drive.
On one hand we were so lucky to have a holiday and see usually busy tourist areas so quiet and peaceful. We had beaches to ourselves some days and it was magical. However it was also difficult to see the beaches so quiet as it shows the impact all this has had on The Algarve and the local areas.
The covid measures in place were structured and we felt at ease and safe during our time at the apartment and int he surrounding areas. Thank you Kath!

We have recently come back from a great week at Paraiso Jardim. We rented the whole property as there were to be 17 of us (15 in the end).
Each apartment is well equipped and comfortable. The outdoor kitchen (where we spent most of our time other than the pool!) is great for mealtimes and socialising. The pool is large with plenty of sun beds and completely fenced in for safety.
Kath and Alan are excellent hosts who were there to greet us on arrival and ensure we were settled in. Nothing was too much trouble and although they live on the property were not at all intrusive. Alan kept the pool and communal area spick and span for us all week and Kath booked the local restaurant (and took over our orders!) for our first night. Communication before our trip was easy and Kath was very quick to respond to our many questions and requests!
There is a village within walking distance that has a couple of shops but for bigger hyper markets there are a couple within a few minutes drive.
Burgau beach is 40 minutes walk or a few minutes in the car and a lovely place to visit. The beach is great.
If you are looking for a large property for a group/family holiday you can’t go wrong with this one.
We will definitely be back!

Stayed at Kathy and Alan’s fantastic “ Paraiso Jardim villas “ surrounded by my family .
We booked out the entire site and the place was ideal for our week of birthday celebrations .Kathy and Allen were lovely lovely people , friendly and so helpful , we couldn’t have asked for better hosts . Always available when we needed them but never intrusive.
The pool is fantastic and looks great at night with its “ disco “ lights flashing . The communal kitchen and bbq area is ideal for morning , noon and nightime get togethers . All in all a superb place for a group getaway , I would highly recommend a holiday here .

Hi Keith High praise indeed thank you, I'm really going to miss the energy from your group and of course the "Tally Ho Rodders" first thing in the morning. Still, every time I see a little 60th confetti it reminds me of you :) and yes we are still finding them :) Thanks again for choosing us for your holiday and so happy you enjoyed it. The place is perfect for 3 generation groups like yours, everyone gets to have a holiday. Happy days Hope to see you all again Kath & Al

About an hour's run from Faro airport, just off the main road, you turn in through gates and leave the world behind you. If you tire of the pool (unlikely), there is an excellent story-book beach a 6-minute drive away, in Burgau. We were among a family group of 17 and our accommodation was comfortable, each cottage fitted out with a modern bathroom and a satellite kitchen. Our fridges had been pre-filled with ham, cheese, butter and wine and tea and coffee were also supplied. Our hosts were welcoming and responsive, available to answer questions and sort out difficulties.

Hi Venetia Thank you so much for staying with us, I'm only sorry you could not stay with your group for the 2 weeks, I'm starting to miss the sound of the guitar strumming and the vocal chords, still your replacements seem to be having a good time. I did hear some singing last night but its not quite right without your accompaniment. Rhinestone Cowboy will never sound the same :) Thanks again it was a pleasure having you and your party stay with us. Kath & Al

We have recently returned from Paraiso Jardim where a group of 20 of us (families) spent 11 days and could willingly have stayed longer.
We were the first visitors this year after the refurbishment work that had been done by the owners Kathy and Alan. The place is perfect for a large group/family with separate living areas of differing sizes and lots of communal space too. All the living accommodation is really well equipped, spacious and comfortable, every night was a great nights sleep!
Great pool area, extremely well maintained and clean and certainly well used by us all. The outdoor living area and kitchen was absolutely perfect for our group and we spent a lot of time having big long lunches out in the sunshine and evening BBQs. Everything you needed for catering was in the outside kitchen and the layout of this area works really well and is very social.
Incredibly relaxing place with the communal areas providing lots of space to get together but the large grounds also provide lots of places to get your book and a beer and disappear for a while.
The whole place is really well looked after and Kathy and Alan are ideal hosts, very friendly, extremely helpful and informative, always available when needed but not intrusive in any way. If we were fitter and braver and had more time we might have taken Alan up on his offer to show us the numerous bike trails in the hills.
Paraiso Jardim is set in a quiet location but 5 mins walk from Almadena with several bars and cafes and a small supermarket. Brodies is worth a mention, really friendly owners with a good menu and used to large bookings, and though we enjoyed most of the locals bars, Bar Six was a regular, really accommodating owner with good sense of humour.
Burgau is an enjoyable 30 mins walk over the hill, good beach and great food at the Beach Bar, Smugglers is a good local bar too after dinner. Plenty of other food and drink options.
You are within striking distance of plenty of other locations too so it’s well located to explore, we hired bikes which were ideal to go and have a look around the area .
Couldn’t fault the place or the hosts and wish I was still there, would definitely book again without a doubt.

Hi..this could go on a bit, but if you are looking at staying here i hope you`ll find it helpfull. Firstly, we booked the whole set up - 5 "homes" for 2 weeks - all family...the 4 of us in my gang were in Bourganvilla. Portugal...Lovely place, nice food, locals friendly, sea cold.! Faro airport good - no dramas, easy in easy out....Weather - we arrived 26th July 2014, first week cloudy start, warmed up thru the day for the week, second week wall to wall hot, dusk to dawn. Paraiso is a good 1hr 30 mins at best from the airport via N125 (non toll). Some of our party taxi`d from Faro and did it via motorway toll road A22 in about 40 mins (not sure of cost but i think about Euro100 each way split 4 ways)... We got there just after the prev guests left....Kathy was so obliging allowing us to make use of the pool and the grounds while the rooms were cleaned....real bonus. Once in the apartments we settled quickly and began to explore. Great set up for BIG families..if you can hire the lot then do so....no drama if not, but in the lower 3 apartments of Bourganvilla, Vine and Jasmine you would either have to know each other or get to know each other as these apartments are close. You could stay in Bird of Paradise or Wisteria and be more self contained. The three equiped apartments with kitchens were spot on, never wanted for anything, in fact never looked for anything and couldnt find it. The studio apartments are just that, no kitchens but lovely big rooms. The communial cooking / eating area was superb....the tunes were going, the huge pots bubbled with various meals and the barbie area was a PROPER barbie area...SUPERB. You really can eat and drink into the dark hours with no concerns for neighbours etc....The pool was top notch - always clean and well attended to (by Alan.!) usually about 6am ish, so as not to get in your way..!!!! Which brings me to the hosts Kath and Alan. Absolutely by far the best hosts we have experienced ever...close enough to be there when you need them, but hardly ever about.? Take that as you will...Kathy booked us meals, booked days out for us for the 5 kids (and negotiated a top price on the beack day at Luz - enquire with Kath), got medication for my wife when she fell ill (teeth) and sorted out a possible issue with the toll road when we thought we may have (wrongly) gone on it and had to fork out some euro. About a 5 min walk over the road into Almadena was Brodies restaurant - we ate there twice and it was superb....Bar we used (daily apart from thursdays when shut) was the O Poco - Run by Les and Jackie - just tell em Craig and his mob recommended them...hidden pool table upstairs if you ask, and sky tv etc...quiz nights Monday (which we blitzed).! Burgau is a 40 min walk from paraiso, out the gates and turn right...top english breakfast for 5 euro if you cant be bothered to cook...lastly, other food recommendations.....the Brazillian buffett in Luz - very filling, and the 5enses (Senses) restaurant in Lagos....very good food.....breakfast and lunches also had by some of the group at Lazy Jacks at the Marina in Lagos....Mozzies - they proper come alive at night so dont forget your plug ins, and your spray...(they will still nip you during the day too). Think i`ve covered it all....i`ll add some pics if i can work out how...thanyou Kathy and Alan for making a much needed holiday so memorable. We would a) stay again or b) Recommend to anybody..!! Craig, Sally, Lenny + Alfie D , Herts , 2014.

I travelled here to celebrate my 40th birthday. There were 12 people in our party and we hired all of the apartments. The rooms, pool and grounds were clean, the pool cleaned daily. On arrival all of the apartments were stocked with a bottle of wine and basic food in the shared kitchen. This was a nice touch after many hours spent travelling. There is no air-con which was not a problem at all as the apartments remained cool in the day, providing curtains remain drawn during the day. The grounds have many hideaway areas which allowed family some time to themselves. We travelled with three generations and the apartments suited all of us. We loved the games room, which I think was used mostly by the competitive adults. It is private and secluded and I felt very safe. A small town is a 5min walk away where you can access a small mini market and a few bars and restaurants. Beaches are a 10min car journey. This was my first visit to Portugal and I will definitely visit a again. Kath and Alan have been fantastic. Prior to our holiday they answered all of our queries promptly. While on holiday they were readily available, if needed to answer queries. There is a beautiful shared eating area outside where you have the option to BBQ, at night this area is lovely, lit up by fairy lights. I would highly recommended this property, the property and Kath & Alan are absolutely charming.

What an amazing place! It felt like home from home for our party of 11. You could easily accommodate almost twice that number. Each of the separate cottages are comfy and cool, no need for air con at all, even in the heat of day or night.
We spent several wonderful evenings in the communal kitchen/barbeque/eating area under the pretty fairy lights and even swam in the evenings after dark in the well lit pool. The cottages are so pretty and spacious, well stocked with absolutely everything we needed and we were so grateful for the welcome bread, cheese, wine.
There are local restauraunts practically on the doorstep and you can walk to Burgau in 20 mins or so, or drive. Luz is a 5 minute drive away, Lagos less than 10. We went horse Riding at Tiffany's 5 minutes' drive away, went to the Atlantic Coast 20 minutes drive (past a huge supermarket 5 mins down the road), went to Silves Castle 30 minutes away which was amazing, Go Karting 15 mins away which was absolutely fantastic and lots of other amazing places too.
Kath and Alan were amazing hosts, very welcoming but left us to do our own thing, and were there for advice when we needed. We will definitely come back to this property without any hesitation, a week just wasn't enough here, and I've recommended it to everyone I've spoken to. I would recommend having a car to explore the Algarve wherever you're staying as there is so much to see and do.
Thank you Kath and Alan, for creating the most wonderful property, I can't think of a more perfect place for our group to have stayed, literally loved everything about it!
