Paradise lost” Potentially a treasure, location of the highest order . Beautifully unique with its crystal clear waters , sandy beach and great snorkelling . Sadly despite the staffs best efforts to work with what they have to make our holiday special the resort is unloved by the owners. They must decide it they want make it a premier location on the coast or let it fall into further decay. We feel some much needed love and desire to give guests what they paid for would be all it would take . The location deserves so much more . We weren’t expecting 5 stars by any means but were disappointed even so . Wouldn’t take much tho to get it there . It’s really worth the effort as it truly is something special and just needs to be bought back to its former glory .

Overall, service was good. The beach location is a major plus. A private beach for you to swim and chill out on. The room itself was clean, was cleaned in a timely manner too by staff. The only downsides to the stay is the internet wifi is absolutely terrible, virtually non-existent. If you are stuck during a cyclone, God help you. The wifi is only available in the reception/ dining area and its a tiny pocket wifi. Because of the remote location, there is no data reception even if you have a FJ sim card. They only switch it on certain times too. Pretty bad. There wasn't much things to do, would've been nice if there was snorkelling gear, SUP boards to take advantage of the nice beach. Food was ok, but very limited options. There was no mention aswell of massage therapy services even though it says on the website. They need to do a bit more work, post covid re-opening.

Regarding a stay January 22 - In summary: this resort has a lot of potential, but should not be open for guests yet given its current state of disorganisation. This review should be more harsh but will take the obstacles the owners faced at face value. They told that preparing the resort for the past month was a huge undertaking. Still, given the 'jungle' and disarray the property was in at the start of Dec 2021, more honesty with guests about the state of the resort now is needed. Pros: * The beach nearby is beautiful and very private. There is a local village nearby that apparently takes guests for donation-based tours * The two pool villas are nice if available and offered a lovely private afternoon in the sun * The grounds are beautiful (there is sporadic scattered rubbish but it seems a lot more clean than what we were told it looked like one month earlier) * The resort put on fireworks and offered kava over New Year's Cons - just some examples from our experience: * Lack of adequate food and drink options - consistently unable to provide things on the menu * No snacks or food aside from meal times. Food only served at certain times and if you miss these times you're stuck * Difficulty ordering food (possibly due to language barrier?): the food served was frequently and completely different to what we ordered * Very limited bar: beers and one wine. Cocktails offered were frankly not good * We did book the day before arriving, but the resort didn't have our booking on arrival. Staff were able to fix us a room, then immediately gave that room away to another booking rather than reserving us the room they had made available as an appeasement. The listing suggested the resort had a pool available: due to staffing issues it was not ready. Update: looks a lot less murky and green on our departure Jan 1st * Requested payment for our accommodation which had already made online through Agoda * They charge 4% for international card payments: the most paid at any other property was 3% * Pre flight PCR testing is 200 FJD; this is higher than 180 FJD standard rates quoted to us at the start of the trip by airlines and multiple resorts * The rooms are basic and not all lights are working - otherwise the amenities are ok. There are still ants in the rooms Perhaps by March this year the resort will be more ready for business but at this stage my partner and I would suggest against staying here. Again, a shame, given its potential as a beautiful spot!

This place is beautiful 😍...and is probably underrated because not many locals know about it. The staffs are friendly and food and beverages are reasonably priced. The chef alters your meal according to your taste bud. Also if you are going in groups of 10 or more; they'll even host a 2-course beachside buffet BBQ dinner for just $20pp for the locals. And let me tell you, they went overboard with hosting us...bonfire was fun! Not only that, but they also have several Vegan options! Happy Hour is 5pm to 7pm with $5 off all cocktails Dining area allows access to Wifi Internet and pool time extends till 8pm. They also have couple of books and board games to keep you occupied. Do try this place!

Easy fast check in. We were met at our car by Sue who lead us immediately to our room. We stayed in the private pool suite. Room was clean with everything required in there. The private pool and courtyard are an amazing feature and well maintained for the middle of a jungle. Beautiful untouched and quiet white sand beach with crystal clear waters. Great deck by the beach to lounge and watch the world go by. We had the perfect start to each day by walking along the sands. The village 50m down the beach is welcoming and Mary gives a good traditional massage in her beach side hut. Although at first glance the restaurant menu looks rather simple; however every single dish was done to perfection. The chef (Nacanieli) prepares meals with the most brilliant balance of flavours from a simple base. You can taste everything. We were WOW'd by every meal and cannot give him enough compliments. Scooby gave great friendly service and some awesome conversation. Only recommendation is that you stock up on insect repellent as the resort is in the middle of a lush nature reserve so the inevitable wildlife is around. If you are looking for a private couples retreat to escape the world we could not recommend Wellesley highly enough.

This place was simply amazing all around. Where to start? Well I would stay the staff are wonderful, we really connected with them and they played a big part in making our overall stay in Fiji very enjoyable. We really bonded with Mere & Sekove (also known as Mary and Scooby). They were fun and welcoming and friendly and also helped out a lot with regards to the day trips that we planned, helping give good recommendations and organizing logistics. This place really is special for so many reasons. Amazing authentic Fijian vibe, not cheesy or touristy, beautiful property, great people, great location right in the jungle, and great food too. I would recommend renting a car which makes it so much easier to go on adventures. This is a great part of Fiji for adventures, but its also amazing if you want to stay at this beautiful quaint resort with a beautiful beach. I think a lot of the info out there on tourism misrepresents this part of Fiji as not having much to do, there was a ton to do and we explored a lot. The jungle is amazing and snorkeling at the resort and at nearby Beqa island is unreal. Highly recommend this place, i will for sure be back!

We stayed at the Wellesley for four nights in one of the pool rooms, which was cool, spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff could not have been lovelier. Mary and Talitha spent lots of time getting to know us and ensured our stay was perfect. Big shout out to Scooby in the bar for his good chat and the best shirts, he's an absolute credit to the resort!!! Sabir and the rest of the team work so hard to keep the gardens looking gorgeous too. The food was very tasty, reasonably priced and generous in portions, the Pad Thai was one of the yummiest I've had! We were lucky to come when it was very quiet but with only 15 rooms it's peace and serenity was amazing compared to the noisier resorts down the road. The beach is one of the best I've experienced on my many visits to Fiji, kept clean and weed free and drops off quickly for a good dip. We'll definitely be back and recommend to our friends and family. Thanks so much again! ❤️🇫🇯🏝️😊

The resort has a privileged location in the middle of a nature reserve surrounded by wonderful lush green vegetation and with direct access to a nice beach. The hotel is however not well maintained and the staff not very attentive. There were big dirty spots and water damage on the walls behind the bar, the outside furniture were not clean and several not in good shape. Our room was not clean, a lot of hair and dirt on the floor, dust on lamps and furniture and even “leftovers” from the previous guests on the toilet seat. The place doesn’t correspond with the photos that appears on their website or on the booking websites.

We spent three gorgeous nights at the Wellesley Resort at the end of November. The location, the weather, the staff, the accommodation, the food (lots of vegan and gf options available) - all exceeded expectations. It was the perfect, quiet, paradise escape. We spent our days lounging oceanfront or by the pool, consumed heavenly food prepared by the excellent chef Nathan (he even cooked the fish that my partner caught - multiple ways and incredible each time), visited the local village down the beach, and fully relaxed under the loving and hospitable care of Talica and Mereani. Talica checked in with us daily and made sure we were well looked after and Mereani made our meal times a breeze - we felt at home (without having to do anything!). Can't forget to also mention Sabir, he shared many local area and fishing tips with us. We wholeheartedly recommend Wellesley and wish to send immense gratitude to the staff for a memorable and delightful time! Vinaka!!!

Although it’s a 2 hour drive from Nadi airport, this resort is totally worth it! The pool is great and we enjoyed snorkeling at the beach with the new equipment. Scooby and (Aunty) Talitha were excellent hosts, we had a great time at the kava ceremony with some of the other guests. The food was good and the cheeseburger was our fave item on the menu. Definitely the place to go for a relaxing holiday. Jess and Hen
