Treat yourself with a stay at the Marera Valley Lodge. You will be warmly greeted by a caring and professional staff. The Lodge is very new and clean. Enjoy a lovely dip in the pool after an exciting day of animal viewing. Or book a massage, located onsite too. The grounds and landscaping are so relaxing and pleasant. You will enjoy a delightfully comfortable room with all the needed amenities and a hair dryer! Nice shampoo, conditioner and lotions make you feel pampered. Our room had a large exterior deck to relax and enjoy the beautiful regional scenery. Chef and Owner Reginald will dazzle you with delicious and nicely presented dishes for a fine dining experience. Full bar with indoor and outdoor service to enjoy gathering with friends or family. The Lodge is filled with unique artwork so everywhere you look there is something special to admire. My laundry sent out was done perfectly and only a dollar for most garments. Great value and an enjoyable Safari Lodge.

We stayed here just one night before entering the Serengeti NP. The lodge is accessed along a dirt road and on arrival we were greeted with cool towels and a welcome drink. The staff were helpful and efficient at check in and check out. The lodge is set amidst manicured gardens and a pool. The rooms are duplex bungalow style with a balcony overlooking more rural views. From our room we could see Weaver birds entering and emerging from their nests.
The room was spotlessly clean with flowers on the duvet. The bedding was crisp white cotton sheets, duvets and blankets if needed. A wood fire was available for cold nights (not needed yet) and comfy chairs. The en suite was adequate with plenty of hot water, toiletries and towels.
Dinner and breakfast were both buffet style with a satisfactory range of food presented. Beetroot soup was served to table. The bar was comfortable for a drink and prices not excessive.
We had time after arriving to visit a coffee plantation with a guided tour followed by tasting.
Overall, a comfortable lodge for an overnight stay.

We had this lodge booked for us during our 3 night safari through Maua Adventures. It is conveniently located on the way to the Serengeti and Nronogoro Crater just off the highway. This lodge is gorgeous and we wished we had more time here to enjoy it aside from one short night. The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished with large decks with nice views over the plantation, the grounds are beautifully landscaped, food plentiful and delicious and the pool was large and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I would love to stay here again for 2 nights and enjoy some of the amenities such as the spa services.

We stayed here for one night on our way from Manyara to the Serengeti. The lodge is very close to the village of Karatu and opened not so long ago. We loved our spacious room with a great bathroom and a large shower. Every room has two Queen Beds and is located in the garden around a very big swimming pool. Since we arrived here in the early afternoon we could enjoy the swimming pool a little bit before heading to dinner where owner Regie greeted us and told us proudly that he writes all the menus for the different meals. You can feel the love for detail and taste the exquisite food served during the meals here. We will definitely be back! If you have any questions, don't hesitate and contact us!

The grounds are nicely manicured and the rooms are large and comfortable but we would have preferred a king size bed rather than 2 doubles, one of which represented simply wasted space. The buffet style food was consistently average and quite oily with very limited salad offerings - not as good as other lodges we visited. The WiFi was available only in a small area near the restaurant and bar and was often frustratingly slow. Still water was charged extra and not provided with meals. Why not have a filtered water station in the bar/restaurant where guests are able to refill containers as needed. The reception area could also do with a makeover as it was quite dark, gloomy and uninviting. Had we not been on an organized tour, with pre-selected hotels we would not have booked this location.

We would highly recommend the Marera Valley Lodge in Karatu - the whole site is beautifully presented and well kept and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The bungalows are beautiful and have everything that you need for your stay. The Lodge is conveniently placed for visiting the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Conservation area. The food is fantastic - some nights it's table service from a set menu and others it's a buffet, both are incredibly tasty and great even for a vegetarian. Also great options from the buffet for breakfast, including freshly cooked fried eggs/omelettes and scrambled eggs. The bungalows that are further away from the communal areas don't keep wifi access but there is plenty of comfortable seating in the bar area and on the covered patio if you need internet access. The pool area is wonderful if you have any down time in between day trips. Would like to say a big thank you for all of the members of staff who gave us such a memorable stay.

Now if you've been missing that luxury effect, then here you go. This property is stunning. Take a special note of the shrubbery. The colors and textures they've planted around the landscapes are a delight to the eyes. The rooms are huge and beautiful. High vaulted ceilings, fireplace, open rainfall shower. Each room has a big balcony overlooking the plains. The people here also very accommodating, and the food was very good. They're still working on their Wi-Fi in the rooms, but everywhere else you are connected. The pool was in the center of an expanse that allowed you to swim and view the Stars at the same time. At this property all the cabins are in a horseshoe so you can't get lost. A short walk and you are back to the lounge with the bar and fireplaces, or across the hall in the dining hall. The service here is amazing and the food is as well. The portions are amble, you will not be hungry. They do special orders, even on cocktails. Though you will hate to leave, when you do, you’ll get a big serenaded send off by the staff. A very nice touch.

Looking for a place that isn't out of the world expensive, you'll find it at Marera Valley Lodge. A newer property, it has elegance and flair that is not overrated....its comfortable, peaceful, well appointed with touches of elegance. The beauty of the landscape is seen throughout this smaller, exclusive hidden gem. The pool is lovely and welcoming. The staff is very accommodating, and the rooms are quite large, a welcome respite for the night. Stunning property!

We were lucky enough to stay at this lodge twice during our recent safari. Once at the beginning of our trip and once towards the end. The rooms are a great size with large beds and private decks overlooking the garden area. There's a great centralized swimming pool and bar/restaurant area. There is a vegetable garden onsite as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent. The staff even remembered us from the previous week and without asking went out of their way to make us a different soup so that we wouldn't have to have the same one twice (even though the first one was delicious and we would have loved that anyway!).
