We stayed on our way home after canoeing the Whanganui River. Set in a gorgeous garden in farmland 15 mins outside of Taupo. We stayed in the main house in the huge ground floor room. Best nights sleep in the super comfortable bed. Breakfast was fabulous. Would definitely stay again. Ngā mihi nui
We were greeted firstly by a beautiful garden and of course the lovely Mabel who immediately stole our hearts. We stayed in the main house in what I think was called the superior room which treated us with a perfect veiw of the taupo lake and landscape. The bed was very comfy and I was very happy with the size as I am 6ft. Breakfast was at 9 as our inviting host Christine let us choose what time would have suited us and of corse this was delicious and fresh. My only critisism is a fault of my own...that we didnt book to stay longer!
Christine and Stephen were fantastic hosts, providing beautiful homely accommodation with amazing views of Lake Taupo and surrounding countryside. After a friendly welcome from them and their adorable chocolate Labrador we settled into a spotless and spacious ‘room with a view’. We shared a delicious meal with Christine and Stephen before enjoying a comfortable and peaceful night’s sleep. A wholesome breakfast saw us on our way with the added touch of homemade jams. We would definitely recommend Country Lodge Kinloch to others. Thank you!
We stayed in the cottage for two nights and took time to enjoy the cottage and its tranquil location, which we now are happy that we did. Bring a nice wine and a good book, Scrabble is already on the shelf. Very comfy beds with lovely bedlinen, the place is clean and has everything you’d need. The cottage is very well set up and almost like coming home, we were even greeted by adorable Mable, the choc Labrador, such lovely company if you enjoy dogs (we did!) and well behaved. Quick drive to Taupo or Kinloch and close to some neat local galleries and pottery. A place to come back to for sure for peace and solitude.
Stunning views down to lake Taupo and the Kinloch village, so peaceful and lots to see and do. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Charming house and hosts. We enjoyed our walk to Kawa Kawa Bay and dinner at the Tipsy Restaurant. Thank you Christina and Stephen for a memorable stay. Julia and Graham
