Small and delightful B&B, in a classic Gothic house, with attention to detail, located in the town of Quala. Strategic position with respect to the entire island, not far from the port and close to means of transport for moving to points of interest. It has a small swimming pool that can also be used in the evening and a couple of terraces, one of which overlooks a splendid and well-preserved mill. Amiably managed by Denise who is attentive and available to provide lots of information about the island and help to book, if necessary, a scooter (which is recommended for at least a couple of days) or a boat. It feels like home, a beautiful home. The proximity to the port also allows you to visit Malta in the day if you wish. The island of Gozo has not yet been taken over by mass tourism and therefore still has very pleasant uncontaminated beaches and corners. The small square of Quala, very close to the B&B, has the flavor of village squares where in the evening you stop to drink and chat with other customers in an atmosphere of true relaxation. We couldn't have made a better choice!

We had a wonderful stay and were sorry we didn't stay longer! The B&B is beautifully decorated and the rooms are equipped with everything you need (a very nice pool area, a roof terrace, comfortable beds, air conditioning, fridge, hair dryer and much more). The breakfast was exceptionally good and definitely deserves a mention! In general (this does not refer to the location of the B&B) we would recommend a rental car. Denise is a perfect host who is always on hand to help and advise and we would love to come back!

Definitely a 5 star B&B... Betta is a wonderful host. She's so nice, helpful and caring that instantly makes you feel at home. She's also a great cook, trust me 😉
Apart that, accommodation is located in a quiet setting and accommodation including all rooms, pool area, etc., are extremely clean and full of all necessities one could need. Breakfast is top notch and her home made cakes, waffles and muffins are a must to try, so delicious!!!
Also, in the evening, once returning back from dinner, there will be a very delicious treat waiting in front of your room's door. In my opinion, this completes the rating for a 5 star B&B!
Definitely will be back once staying again in Gozo. Until then, I truly wish you Betta and your husband, all the very best because you truly deserve it!

Firstly, the accommodation was extremely clean, comfortable and appropriately arranged to support social distancing. Prior to staying at the B&B we had stayed at a 5* hotel which had been far less comfortable compared to Betty's. All amenities are quality and ensure that you feel truly well looked after.
From the moment you enter the B&B Betty is there to make you feel at home. Betty's attention to detail and clear determination to make you feel as comfortable as possible really shows. As others have noted her cooking is superb. Only the best products are used and again, I find myself comparing our stay to that of a 5* hotel, if not better. Staying at Betty's really is excellent value for money.
I cannot recommend Betty's B&B enough. If we ever return to Gozo we would definitely return to Betty Cake.

Beautiful building, lovely room and very comfortable bed. Continental breakfast and cake. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Shower nice and powerful. Walking distance to the main square of Qala and a handful of eateries and bars. Hondoq Bay 25 minute walk away. Buses a few minutes walk (although only one an hour). Taxi from Mgarr only takes about 8 minutes. Victoria and the citadella is only 25 minutes away on the bus. We love Gozo and the slow pace of life, Betty Cakes was a great place to stay with a nice pool. Our room (2) had a view of the pool a fridge and a kettle. Would definitely recommend and would love to return!

We stayed three nights at the Betty Cake and it was a joy to do so. The B & B is a beautifully restored traditional Gozitan village home, set back with three terraces including a lovely shaded rooftop, sparkling pool, and modern amenities. Betty is a wonderful host -- her cakes are to die for (hence, the name). Breakfast is delicious and Qala proved to be a wonderful base for exploring the island of Gozo

Betty is one of the best hostess I have ever met. Everything was perfect, upfront help, arrival, breakfast, support during your stay, and she is a very nice person talking to, about anything. The location is perfect. Although when you arrive you think hmmm, is this the place, but once opening the front door, it’s all very clean, nicely decorated and equipped and the house is providing a very good atmosphere. unfortunately we did not use the pool but it’s looking perfect. the two terraces are fantastic with one on the roof with a fantastic view over Qala, Gozo and Malta. So, the place to be when exploring Gozo.

You will not be disappointed staying here if you like the finer things in life! Betty certainly is the perfect host & has thought of everything to make sure your stay here is exquisite! The rooms are gorgeous with an added touch of choice of pillow, robes, small fridge along with tea & coffee. The pool area is idyllic and again Betty made sure we had towels and left the sunbeds ready for our use! As you may have guessed from the name of the B&B, Betty makes the best cakes ever! You will be amazed at the array of choice you have for breakfast, all home made! If we stay in Gozo again we would not hesitate to stay here as location, views and hospitality are all truly exceptional! Thank you :)

Our review for Betty's is in 2 parts! There are so many things to love about our experience, and yet we feel it wasn't quite what we expected based on Tripadvisor and Google Reviews that we used to make our decision to stay.
Positives- location great! Set in a beautiful village with some good dining and drinking options. Close to some great beaches! Denise was amazing- helped us book a table at a local restaurant, provided a phone charger we had forgotten etc. Rooms were fairly well equipped and quite clean. Pool area lovely. Prosecco available to purchase is a nice touch.
Negatives- toilet seat broken. Some areas of the property roped off, which we found unnecessary and a little unwelcoming. There were 4 couples staying in the b and b, and only 2 sun loungers- it was quite awkward at times because more than 1 couple wanted to use the sun loungers at the same time.
Our biggest issue is that this business has been acquired recently and it's quite different to how its previous owner ran it. 'Betty' was not there anymore, which also meant no fresh cakes! We were there for 6 nights and we found the breakfast buffet repetitive and a little basic. There were cakes, but they were not fresh and were clearly supermarket-bought. There was also not enough food for all the people staying. I would expect the option of a cooked breakfast for the price we paid.
There are so many great things about Betty Cakes, but our main issue was that it just wasn't quite what was promised. All the reviews suggest absolutely fantastic service with loads of nice little touches and treats- this just isn't the case, although Denise is lovely and helpful. There are also no recent reviews, which concern me. I do think they should rename the B+B and make sure people visiting understand that there are no longer fresh bakery items or cakes available, and that it is a slightly different experience to what it used to offer. Overall we had a great stay!

Betty is very welcoming - with cake - which pleased my husband. She did everything to look after us and make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Her style in house decoration and breakfast preparation is perfect. I would highly recommend. (NB We spent time here and time in Valletta - very easy transfer and 7 day bus pass made very economical).
