The staff is so friendly. As always Sun Viking is clean and our ultimate go to Lodge every year. Love that they still have Bingo! Love that they offer 2 pools, one inside / one outside. Viking Cafe on site so we always have a tasty hamburger and fries.

My family first experienced Sun Viking Lodge spring break (March) 2017. My middle son was senior in high school and was soon heading off to college and I wanted a memorable trip. I explored all hotel options up and down JAX to New Smyrna through trip advisor and google maps and hotel websites. I spent months seeking a good, clean place I could afford. I worried about my choice until I arrived! This first trip and we were sold on the Sun Viking! Went back June 2018 and brought my mom, nieces and nephews and married siblings. Also visited August 2019 and have plans to go again this August. Words can’t do justice but here’s some highlights: 1)excellent staff and cleaning crew 2) family friendly 3) clean rooms with comfy beds, great Floridian decor and large bathrooms 4) indoor and outdoor pools and a seaside hot tub 5) pool slide, shuffle board, basketball court, playground, video game room and an activities director offering such great fun as daily Bingo games with prizes 6) on-sight laundry and fitness room 7) right on the beach but not too crowded as this facility doesn’t have that many rooms, so has never felt crowded on the beach, in the pools, etc. 8) grills for use by guests as well as on-sight food available for purchase at the Viking Cafe 9) wide variety of types of rooms available to fit your families needs and budget, but we always get plan 4 which is 2 queen beds with FULL kitchen and a balcony with a great view of ocean; but call them directly for best deals and ask about room choices and options cause they even have condo rooms next door and cottages across the road 10) there is a Dollar General just down the road which supplied all our food and necessity needs for the week with a large selection of cold / frozen foods and beach items as well as the usual DG stuff.
Again, call about getting your room as there are so many options including rooms with door side parking but no direct view of ocean; handicapped accessible; balcony overlooking indoor pool and more. And direct booking rates beat online prices.
Highly recommend SunViking for your family Florida vacation!

During the 2020 pandemic this place was AWESOME! The staff is super friendly & helpful while wearing masks to protect the guests. A bottle of hand sanitizer is provided @ check-in & touch free sanitizer stations are all over the property. The rooms were SPOTLESS & all basic necessities provided. The heated indoor pool was perfect temp. The outdoor pool/slide was a blast! The hot tub was perfect. We will be back again & again! ( basketball goals, shuffleboard, bingo, corn hole, & other activities also along with grills) The owner himself walked the property keeping everything spotless! But my favorite part is the hotel grounds are 100% smoke-free & there is a security camera everywhere you look. Thanks for your incredible hospitality Sun Viking. This hotel felt more like a resort. It was very family oriented with a daily activity schedule, indoor and outdoor heated pools, 60 foot waterslide and the best part for us is that it is directly on the beach where we found seashells galore and starfish!
The kitchen in our room and the onsite laundry facility made our trip more confortable and economical.
The outdoor hot tub was enjoyed by all. My teenager enjoyed the gym and sauna room as well.
It was quiet, clean and the staff are very friendly.
We will be joining the regulars by making this our anual family vacation spot.

The beach is closed but the Sun Viking Lodge is open. Located right on the beach we are enoying the ocean view from our balcony. When not in the heated outdoor pool with the 60ft. water slide we enjoy the heated indoor pool. Ajacent to it is the hot tub. If cooking is not your thing there are restaurants near by. Or throw a hamburg on one of the BBQs. What ever is your pleasure owners Barbara and Gary Brown will make it as pleasant as possible. This is a family owned motel and encourage families to come and enjoy the nice weather at the beach.

We are very fortunate that our beach is now open and was only closed for 2 days. Our County says it is now open for walking, jogging, bike riding, swimming, surfing and fishing! We have many guests that love trying their luck with shore fishing and some even take a deep-sea fishing trip for the day. Our guests agree with you – they too enjoy the amazing views of our beautiful ocean and coastline. We have owned the Sun Viking Lodge for over 49 years and our goal has always been to keep our hotel “family friendly & fun” – specializing in families, couples and seniors! It was our first time going there. We went there for our honeymoon and had such a great wonderful amazing time there. They have so much fun stuff and thing's to do while you enjoy your stay. The staff was so polite and respectful, from the front desk to all the lovely hard working maid's that were so so so polite. I would recommend the Sun Viking Lodge to all newly married couples, especially those with kid's. We had our children come for the day and they had a amazing time there. We got home and that was the first thing out there mouths is how they can't wait to go back so we can enjoy such a fun amazing place. Sincerely the Quinton family!!!!!!

Room was spacious and clean. Two pools and a water slide made it easier for the children to play in the water. The beach and ocean are right down the back steps and there is a fresh water rinsing station. Good quality towels and room came with all you need to prepare meals and dine in.

We used to live in Daytona Beach , and we visit from Ohio frequently . After our first stay at Sun Viking , we have decided that there are no other hotels that can compare to the beauty , the location, the activities for kids, and the safety and comfort offered there. There are the best oceanfront rooms with balcony’s in all of Daytona. You can even clearly see the amazing sunrise over the ocean from the comfort of your bed ! The indoor pool is beautiful with a small , natural looking waterfall for rainy day’s. Outdoor pool has a 60 ft. water slide that is perfect for kids and adults. Activities such as sand castle contests , a game room with Xbox’s and Classic Nintendo , basketball court , corn hole, and more ! You cannot have anything less than a perfect vacation at Sun Viking Lodge. The staff are all so very welcoming and friendly. Only a few minutes drive to the Boardwalk and International Speedway Blvd. Walk to Dollar General and 7-11 . Beautiful , safe neighborhood. Sun Viking exceeds expectations. Do not stay anywhere else.

Yes our Viking Kafe is open for breakfast and lunch daily now (March) through August. It is usually closed September to mid February. We are not able to post a menu on this platform as far as I can figure out. Please call us if you have any questions.
In order to receive a military discount you must book direct at the Sun Viking Lodge and have a valid military ID. Active Duty, Veteran or DD-214 form will work.
