Welcome to Aquapackers, New Zealand's only floating backpackers accommodation. Owners Jane and Mark welcome you to experience an unforgettable stay on their catamaran in Anchorage Bay, Abel Tasman National Park. Enjoy the peace and quiet of Abel Tasman National Park from the deck of their specially converted catamaran and relax in your own private cabin, or one of the 2 dorm rooms. All bedding is provided, and the rate includes a delicious BBQ dinner in the evening and continental breakfast in the morning. Aquapackers is a purpose-built catamaran offering shared living space inside with a large dining table, chairs and bench seats, and several decks to soak up the views of Abel Tasman National Park. There is no road access to Aquapackers. You can either walk in on the Abel Tasman Coastal track, take a water taxi, or kayak. We'll pick you up from the beach. Aquapackers is open from October 1 through to 30 April every year.

This a great way to stay right on the water of Able Tasman. The location of the boat is great, as it is an easy swim to the beach or a quick water taxi to the hiking trails. Mark & Jan are super friendly hosts and put on an awesome feed of a BBQ and yummy pancake for breakfast in the morning. The sunsets and star viewing is also spectacular from the top deck at night.

My girlfriend and sea kayaked in Abel Tasman national park and stayed with Aquapackers half way up the peninsula before hiking north the following day. Mark and Jane made us feel welcome, the beds were very comfortable and the food was fantastic. Aquapackers greatly exceeded our expectations for how great sleeping on a boat could be. The location was also perfect to enable us to see more remote and prestige areas of the park than otherwise. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Pete

Our Family group (5 adults) would like to spend more time here. Lovely place and this is a good venue. You get picked up from the beach in a launch taken to the accommodation boat. Very appropriate for the setting. Could spend a couple of days here. Good hosts.
