Last minute change of hotels resulted in a night at the domaine which looked promising on the website. Rooms could do with an uplift and especially in pandemic times, would make sense to place guests with possibility to dine in their room at a table and not just one chair and a vanity desk for the purpose when too cold to eat outdoors.

For a meal of a two charcuteries, burger, wok (minus any noodles) just hot vegetables, and no wine or drinks for a total of 68 euros, it is taking people for a ride. Please see photos and you will see packaging size of McDonald's and for 14 euros each for charcuterie, with a few slices, it's really not fair.

Furthermore, we called to order from the road and were only given an option of three starters (sardines, soup or charcuterie) and mains (vegetable wok or burger) while when we arrived at the hotel, the menu was much more substantial. We were given a time to collect and arriving at hotel called to ask if at all possible to have it earlier and was told yes. Yet when we came to pick up at the time they said to, it was not even ready.

A total let down. Plus for the price...

Very severe comment. You could have rented a lodge with kitchen, you preferred a room, it is your choice. In addition, normally we must order in advance and we accepted to please you the last minute.

This is a beautiful property set in stunning forest. The lodges fit in with the environment perfectly. They are beautifully appointed and decorated. What I would have liked is a small welcome basket of tea/coffee maybe even a small bottle of wine. The staff had left a lovely welcome message in accommodation acknowledging my birthday so I don’t think it was too much to ask. A few improvements in the restaurant are required though. Food was undeniably excellent but far too expensive. This isn’t a 5 star hotel and I suspect attracts a different clientele so more choice required on the menu. The menu du jour should have two/three options for starter/main/dessert. Price was reasonable for this but there was no choice, just as is. On the night we were there it was fish starter and main so if you didn’t like fish, you had no other option but à la carte. We also found service a bit rushed in the restaurant which again didn’t match the prices. Spa was fabulous and large so never felt crowded. However, to charge a supplement for residents of €20 per person per day seems a bit much when accommodation already cost €220 per night. Overall, I would recommend it and go back but I would take a box of groceries and eat out. Breakfast is worth it though and incredible value at €16. We didn’t have the Sunday brunch as it was ridiculously expensive at €49 per person. More than double what we normally pay in Bordeaux. A lovely relaxing location.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Tolhurst, Thank you very much for sharing your experience. It was a pleasure to welcome you in our residence for your birthday ! We are delighted you enjoyed the very calm and natural atmosphere, sourrounded by the pinewood. We take into consideration your feedback regarding the welcome amenities within the lodge. It is lovely to learn that you enjoyed the spa and the breakfast! We hope you were glad about the complementary upgrade into a Cottage. For us, it was a pleasure to offer you a much more spacious apartment for your two nights stay and moreover for this special occasion. We are sorry that the restaurant did not matched your expectations. The pricing is based on the high quality of fresh product our chef uses in every meal, which we consider high value. We do note each of your comment in order to improve the quality of our services. Regarding the brunch, it is a self-served sweet and savory buffet very high rated and loved by our clientele. You may have the pleasure to experience it during your next stay. Thank you again for taking the time to let us a comment. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon in the Arcachon Bay! Best regards, Marie-Caroline Front Office Manager

We had a wonderful relaxing time. After a romantic engagement in Paris we escaped the city to Cap Ferret and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of hotel. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom lodge with full kitchen/dining area, living space and bathroom. We enjoyed eating on our outdoor patio listening to the silence 😍 The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were lucky to have quiet neighbors and were not in the middle of the busy section near the pool. Huge grocery store within walking distance provided all the food we needed. Bike rental is also close by and we enjoyed riding around the town, trying all the oyster shacks. Can’t wait to come back!! ❤️

The first room we were allocated had the view on the street with cars parked in front of the door.
The entrance door is a window door which makes you feel unsafe especially when the view is directly on the street. We did ask to change and our children received a room with a strong odor of sewage - we had to turn off the air condition as we felt they will be intoxicated with these horrible sewage odors. They should not be allowed to rent these rooms with major default.
Everything in the room is very basic quality - the mattress, cushions etc…we often go to bed and breakfast in the back country and we definitely can not recommend this property. It is not authentic but just tacky…

This is a very well located hotel with a reasonable restaurant attached. The rooms are quite spacious but the decor is drab and needs a little updating. Reception staff polite if not over friendly.
I would definitely look for an alternative place to stay next time

Nicely situated lodge resort. The domain is clean and quiet, nicely and modern decorated . Great spa area with indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Very pleasant staff. Tip: take the superior lodges. The difference in price is justified by their location.

The restaurant offeres very nice food. The sunday brunch is warmly recommended.

Nice Domaine, good accomodations, beautiful experience. But the Location is not good, to far from cap-ferret. Especially in August there is lots of traffic so there are trafficjams during the hole day. The employees don’t sufficiënt english and are not welcoming you very well..

1st hotel we have stayed at that charged for parking, and built in the middle of a pine forest! Whilst all the staff were very helpful indeed, they couldn't overcome some basic defects e.g. no drawers in the bedrooms; no guest security boxes either in the rooms or at reception; no light in the entrance corridor of the bedrooms so impossible to read the A/C display;no provision of beach towels for the pool; the most expensive breakfast we have had to pay for at €18 and little choice; water level in the pool 2ft below the pool sides and this can't be changed as it's at the same level as the skimmer filters; only 12 very basic pool loungers, and little room for any more in a hotel with double rooms, suites and cottages that could take c. 200 people if full. Definitely not 4 star. We left after our 1st night having booked for 2.

We didn't realise when booking that we would be the first guests in a newly opened facility. However we spent a very pleasant week in a 4 person lodge (we were upgraded from the 2 person booking). Reading the other first-week reviews I can understand where other guests have made some criticisms. However all of the minor issues can be easily sorted - although the small outdoor pool will remain problematic for those who wish to spend a lot of time there (there is a second better pool associated with the spa available at a cost!). My wife and I didn't spend time in the Domain during the day but instead used it as an excellent base to explore Cap Ferrat by bicycle. The accommodation lodges themselves are of a very pleasant design both externally and internally and spread throughout a site set amongst the pine trees typical of this area. The restaurant food is expensive but a very well equipped kitchen means that guests can also choose to self cater or eat at local restaurants. We wanted a quiet peaceful base to explore locally and this is exactly what the Domain provided. We were very happy with our stay.

Bon sejour
