A very pleasant hotel in the centre of town. My satnav took me round in circles because of the pedestrianisation so best take a print extract from a Google street map with you. Immediate street parking is difficult and if you do park nearby be aware that you’ll have to move your car before 9.30 am. I eventually found free street parking in a square not far away but I would recommend you book the hotel’s parking if it’s available as spaces are not easy to come by. The reception and small courtyard were colonially quaint and the staff friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable and despite overlooking the narrow street, very quite. I was there on Sunday night and could only find one restaurant open nearby so I had a meal at a table in the hotel bar along with a number of locals and enjoyed it very much. I’m never very keen to stay in town centre hotels (parking difficulties, traffic congestion & noise, usually more expensive etc.) but this was a great little family run hotel at a reasonable price in a very convenient spot to be able to stroll around this historical town.…
We choose this Bar/ restaurant when we checked out the menu, and saw the charming little courtyard. We were asked if we might prefer the dining room, and happily wandered in. The two staff were lovely. We enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere. We ate sooo well. We started off with Artichoke in oil with garlic and lemon, and Sopa de Piccadillo, then chicken, pork chop, cheesecake with cranberries and cornflakes, plus creamed rice Drinks and bread too . 12 euros each. Just lovely.
Central location in old quarter of Priego de Cordoba. Very friendly and helpful staff, including Rafi the owner. Spacious room. Beautiful inner patio. Warm social atmosphere with locals in ground level restaurant,
A "Hostal" in Spanish terms but to us a very friendly, family run small hotel. Difficult to find at first due to the turn off being hidden and narrow BUT after that very central with parking facilities for only 5 euros per day. Amazing place with typical yet small ground floor patio yet they've managed to find room to provide a lift. Not the "Ritz" of course but clean, comfortable and well managed. Certainly recommended.
We travelled by bus, from Malaga to Lucena, Lucena to Priego. Plane to Malaga from UK was 4 hours late, so the bus journeys did not connect and we had an unscheduled overnight stop in Lucena. Nevertheless an enjoyable and exciting journey. Now Hostal Rafi - just brilliant, stayed 2 nights. Room great. Shower huge, Air con brilliant, Bar very good Restaurant fantastic. Food brilliant, wine fantastic. Location very good, interesting, charming, central and easy to get to all parts of Priego Hostal charming. Staff charming. Actually, a perfecr stay. Really much more than an Hostal, the hub of the town. We've stayed in Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz, Madrid for 3 or 4 days each year. Priego is a condensed, small version of these, and much nicer. A wonderful experience of Andalucia.…
